Prestera Racks are available in a hard-wearing powder coat finish or with stainless steel uprights.

The powder coated uprights feature 50 mm spacing increments to accommodate a wide range of users, attachments, and training needs. The laser-cut numbering helps lifters identify even attachment placement and consistently position themselves for training.

Upgrade rack performance with stainless steel uprights. They feature 25 mm hole spacing for more precise adjustments and laser etched numbering to maintain steel integrity. Stainless steel is recommended for gliding attachments.

Optimized rotation at all loads

Particularly essential to the lifting experience is the rotation of the sleeves, or the “spin”. This is an area that we have spent considerable time perfecting. Our re-engineered sleeve construction delivers a more stable and controlled rotation, optimised for smooth performance, giving lifters a more connected and precise experience. Precision needle bearings, an inner race and a dust proof seal ensure weight moves smoothly under load and at high speeds. This minimises the wear on crucial parts, a critical factor for lifter safety, while also ensuring the sleeves remain cleaner for longer and that greased components continue to be well lubricated for years with minimal maintenance.

The straightness of the bar is laser controlled, and if necessary, straightened in a machine after the finished and approved surface treatment. The requirements for the straightness of the bar mean that the maximum approved radial deviation over the entire length of the bar is 0.1 mm, otherwise the bar is discarded and the steel is recycled.

Sport Training Plates are part of our weightlifting range. Available in the Olympic colour palette or a black version with a coloured rim stripe, these rubber bumpers are ideal for equipping a Prestera Strength Station concept.

XF Bumpers are designed for functional fitness and outdoor training environments. Our compressed recycled crumb rubber is soft yet durable providing fantastic sound dampening and shock absorption. Our design updates have slimmed down the profile on our heaviest bumpers so more weight can be loaded on the bar.

Eleiko Grip Plates are ideal for general strength training and use on plate loaded strength machines. A solid iron core covered in rubber features symmetric, ergonomic grip holes for easier plate handling and loading. Which is right for you — rotating or fixed handle dumbbells

Rotating handle dumbbells are optimal for dynamic, explosive movements such as the dumbbell snatch. The rotating handle also puts less stress on joints in exercises like biceps curls and delivers a unique smooth feeling. Fixed handle dumbbells are a classic design perfect for pressing movements, such as chest and shoulder presses.

You can do everything with either the rotating or fixed version from a training standpoint. It simply comes down to preference and what type of training you tend to lean towards – dynamic and explosive or slower and more controlled. Evo recognized with the RedDot Award for design excellence

Eleiko is pleased to announce the rotating version of our Eleiko Evo Dumbbell was recognized by the Red Dot Jury receiving the prestigious 2020 Red Dot Award for Product Design. This award recognizes Eleiko, and the Evo development team, for product design excellence.

The Eleiko Evo Dumbbell was inspired by our passion for lifting, with the design and construction informed by our 60 years of barbell manufacturing expertise. The Evo Rotating Dumbbell delivers an evolution in dumbbell training allowing lifters to maintain a firm grip on the dumbbell handle during dynamic lifts. Our patent pending construction nestles a rotating handle inside a custom bearing to achieve a significantly smaller handle diameter compared to industry standards. The smaller handle makes the benefits of training with rotating dumbbells accessible to more people.

Detailed evaluation in search of good design and innovation

The distinction “Red Dot” has become one of the most sought-after quality seals for good design. In 2020, more than 6,500 products from more than 60 countries were evaluated by an international jury of experienced experts. The adjudication process lasts several days and is based on two essential criteria: The jurors test all of the entries in order to assess not just the aesthetic but also the materials selected, the level of craftsmanship, the surface structure, ergonomics and functionality. After intensive discussions, they make a decision on the design quality of the products. True to the motto “In search of good design and innovation”, only the best designs receive an award.

Creating The Finest Dumbbell Meet Camilla, lead engineer for Eleiko Evo Dumbbells

Equipment is a significant contributor to creating great impressions for clubs. How it performs, holds up over time, and the experience members have when training all play an important role in distinguishing a facility.

In creating Evo, we applied our six decades of barbell and bumper plate design expertise. We paid particular attention to the details we know can help set a facility apart and address operator concerns. We sat down with Camilla Schough, lead designer of the Evo Dumbbell Collection, to dive into the dumbbell development details and explore how they come together to create a dumbbell that is outstanding to use and hassle-free to own.

Polyurethane

Why opt for polyurethane to protect the dumbbell heads? Polyurethane is widely used in dumbbells. It can be extremely durable and scratch-resistant, but it can also be very soft and fast wearing. The trick is to find the perfect balance. We wanted to achieve the feeling of rubber, i.e. excellent grip and nice to the touch, while keeping it very hard-wearing.

How long did it take to find that perfect balance? We tested many different iterations before we were happy with the ideal blend. You need to be really nerdy about these things to get it right, and the whole team of engineers was engaged in the project. I’m very proud of the performance of the recipe we achieved. The surface feels excellent, and the wear and tear resistance is bar none. Overall the Evo Dumbbell will perform in a busy gym, day after day, year after year, and we know that will make a difference for our customers.

Bearing design

How do you find the perfect bearing for a rotating dumbbell? The goal was to create a smooth and effortless lifting experience for the user, regardless of the weight used. We started with an open mind and tested various bearings like bronze or nylon slide bearings. We quickly found that

ball bearings would work best, so we tried several types. We then needed to find a perfect balance between a free rotating handle and optimal protection from dust and moisture from getting in. A low-friction rubber sealed bearing, similar to the ones we use in our barbell, is perfect.

Why did you opt for a rotating handle inside the bearing? It is a unique feature that allows for a much smaller handle diameter. The challenge we faced for our handles was that we could not readily find the quality ball bearing we wanted. So, we collaborated with a Swedish partner to have a custom bearing design made to fit our uniquely small handle.

Why did you choose to go for the relatively small handle diameter across the range?

Normally, a ball bearing design only allows for fairly large handle diameters, making them less than ideal for smaller athletes. Thanks to our unique patent-pending design we can use a 38 and 42mm handle across the Evo rotating range. It is perfect for athletes with both smaller and larger hands making this dumbbell accessible to all users in the gym.

How do you determine the perfect width for the handle?

The key consideration again was the usability of the dumbbell and making it appropriate for as many people as possible. I did anthropometric research regarding the human hand. We considered all dumbbell handle sizes from 125mm to 150 mm wide. A 130mm wide handle proved to be the sweet spot.

What made you go for that specific knurling?

The two primary considerations for knurling are the spacing between the small diamond shapes and the depth of cut. We tested several types of knurling, and the end result we can proudly call the ‘Eleiko Dumbbell Knurling’ you see today. This knurling offers a secure grip but still allows intense use and high repetition sets.

Each kettlebell, regardless of weight, has the same base diameter, height and handle size, so you can train with consistent technique as you gain strength and progress. A scientific study conducted by an outside acoustical laboratory determined the SVR Platform’s average dB level was 11 decibels less than the average of the alternative flooring options tested. According to academic research, 10 decibels is perceived as a doubling or halving of sound (i.e. 66 dB is double the sound of 55 dB).

Strength Station Concepts

We’ve developed a line of insert platforms that integrate into each Prestera rack frame. Insert platforms are available in SVR and standard versions. The two main factors to consider when building a strength station concept are whether sound and vibration abatement is needed and the lifting zone size — small or large.

The SVR insert platforms include fixtures connecting the insert to the rack structure, ensuring a secure fit that does not budge or shift with use. The large lifting zone platforms offer a generous lifting space, similar to our free-standing SVR weightlifting platform. The small insert is ideal for facilities wanting to maximize footprint and layouts with a lifting zone more suited for squats and deadlifts.

The University of Nottingham

The University of Nottingham is one of the leading universities in the UK. Awarded University of the Year in 2022, it offers some of the best Sports Science courses in the UK and boasts 37 on-site sporting facilities. Which is why we are proud to have been chosen as the strength equipment partner for the High Performance Zone refurbishment, set in the £40 million David Ross Sports Village.

The High Performance Zone offers a state-of-the-art training facility for performance athletes, including a 60m sprint track and the latest fitness technology. As well as delivering programs for scholarship student athletes and performance squads, Nottingham’s experienced strength and conditioning team work closely with professional clubs such as British Weightlifting and athletes wishing to use the facility. Nottingham’s High Performance Zone is now home to 25 Custom Stainless Steel Prestera Power Racks and Half Racks, complete with integrated Cable Systems and Smith Attachments, Customised Evo Dumbbells, Sport Training Plates and a host of other Eleiko strength training tools.

Rugby School

Once an old shooting range now high-performance gym, the Rugby School space was transformed to meet the growing demands of the school’s athletic development provision.

With the Strength and Conditioning program within the school catering for pupils as young as 13, right through to junior internationals at 18, the school needed to create an inspiring training space that could facilitate the varying demands of all students and encourage progression throughout the school.

The refurbished performance gym opens the space to more students, allowing greater contact time and a unique training environment that can be enjoyed by all. Students now have the option to train independently or as part of a squad using the Prestera Power Racks with an array of lifting attachments, and coaches have greater access to the tools they need to progress students training.

Functionality as well as aesthetics were key to the brief and the customised Prestera Power racks helped to meet both criteria. Custom-branded Prestera racks and a variety of Eleiko strength tools such as speciality barbells, sport training plates, plate dumbbells, a dual adjustable pulley machine and more, unlock a host of new training possibilities for both students and coaches – as well as a safe environment in which to perform the Olympic weightlifting movements.

Custom rack colours, branded sport training plates, turf track and plyo boxes were also implemented, harnessing the school’s identity throughout for a unique lifting experience.

Rugby School has a rich history in sport, producing the game that millions love worldwide. Keeping at the forefront of UK Independent schools with its strong academic and co curricular offering, the new performance gym enriches Rugby School’s already impressive indoor and outdoor facilities.

UnScared Fitness

When opening their second location, UnScared Fitness, encountered a common problem many gyms face - optimizing space for better usage and storage. With less than 500 square metres of total space and barely 300 square metres of athletic surface, this second location was much smaller than their first nearly 1000 square metre location. The aim was to allow up to 20 athletes to participate in quality classes simultaneously without running short of space or equipment

That’s when Eleiko stepped in with an effective and tailor-made solution that transformed their space, making it more functional, organized, and efficient, helping UnScared raise the bar for their member experience and performance outcomes.

The modern workplace.

When the fashion company Les Deux moved into a new office space in Copenhagen in the autumn of 2021, they wanted to create something more than just an office. The modern workplace keeps employee well-being in focus. Scandinavian interior design and select premium brands reflect the company’s identity.

The heart of the office space, and the first thing visitors are greeted by, is a basketball court. It is adjacent to a wine bar and surrounded by conference rooms, office spaces, a showroom, lunch room, a wall of fame and “The Fitness Room” from Eleiko.

Les Deux wanted a room specifically for training in smaller groups while needing flexible equipment that was easy to move for larger group training. The result was a 40 sqm space-efficient gym where employees can train according to their own ability.

Rémy Martin

Rémy Martin is a well-known French company that specializes in Cognac production. The company aimed to provide its employees with a training area to promote their well-being. To accomplish this goal, Rémy Martin worked with Eleiko to build a complete solution based on functional training movements that could support their employees achieve better performance in their work and in their life – and evolve and grow with the company’s needs.

The main objective was to create a functional training area for Rémy Martin’s employees. The area is designed to help employees develop their physical and mental health through strength, weightlifting, gymnastics, and other functional movements. To that end, Eleiko proposed a customized rig that could be adapted to a variety of training styles, such as cross-fit classes, strength workouts, boxing classes, and cardio classes. We also provided our full range of free weight strength equipment such as kettlebells and dumbbells.

The Rémy Martin facility is unique for a corporate wellness solution because it was based on a functional training area instead of a traditional corporate gym. Unlike traditional gyms, 95% of the equipment in their facility was functional equipment and 5% was standard machines. We helped Remy Martin create a space aligned with how people like to train today and shared compelling information about how functional training can help improve efficiency at work.

Jacy’z Sports Club

Jacy’z Hotel is a modern resort of adventures in a 100-meter-high skyscraper in the city centre of Gothenburg. They call them selves “The Resort that never sleeps” and behind the audacious glass facade you will find 27 floors of experiences, such as a wellspring of restaurants, bars, premium pool club and activities.

On the third floor, they have a Sports Club in an open space with large panoramic windows. It is a multi-functional training area offering personal training, group training and supporting their hotel guests and club members with all the strength essentials for a complete session. Eleiko equipped Jacy’z with a wide range of products such as a free-standing rig with plenty of storage for barbells, kettlebells and dumbbells accompanied by benches and a set up of cardio machines.

Fort Bragg, US Army

Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces. Fort Bragg is a military base of the United States Army. It is the largest military installation globally (by population), with more than 50,000 active-duty personnel, home to the XVIII Airborne Corps and the United States Army Special Operations Command. The physical demands put on the soldiers based at Fort Bragg are great.

Eleiko is proud to have been chosen for several projects, including becoming the bar and plate provider of choice for several of the High-Performance Training centres around the base and transforming a 10,000 sq ft space into a state of the art training for the 82nd Airborne.

To create the 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art training facility for the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg’s Ritz Epps Physical Fitness Center, Eleiko installed over 27 tons of equipment. It can now comfortably allow over 140 Soldiers to utilize the facility and work within built-in stations.

At Ritz Epps PFC, Fort Bragg, NC, Eleiko installed 14 free standing platforms, 14 double-sided half racks, and their Evo rotating dumbbells. 28 or more barbells and kettlebells were also part of the project. We forgot to order female bars in our first order and Eleiko took care of us and sent us some priority shipment. Eleiko stayed until the job was complete and assisted in the clean-up. Very great team to work with. Also easy to get a hold of if you have any questions about the equipment. I highly recommend Eleiko and its team.

NK Padel and Social by Ascaro

NK Padel & Social by ASCARO is Sweden’s most spectacular paddle and training facility, located on the rooftop of Nordiska Kompaniet above Regeringsgatan in Stockholm. The premium facility consists of four paddle courts, a 300 meter long running track, an Eleiko-equipped outdoor gym and lounge area.

The 3000 sqm rooftop area will also offer events with a focus on health and wellbeing, creating a new social hotspot for visitors and members to play, train and socialize — all with a stunning view over central Stockholm.

Eleiko has outfitted the complete outdoor gym area, featuring galvanized rigs and racks, as well as free weights such as kettlebells, barbells, plates, and dumbbells and some cardio units. The training area allows for both strength training and spacious areas for hosting classes or personal training sessions. The galvanized finish provides protection against the elements, allowing the rigs and racks to stay outdoors year-round.

Who We Are From waffle irons to a leader in strength

For 30 years Eleiko manufactured small electrical appliances, when in 1957, an inspired idea forever changed the company’s direction. Eleiko’s factory supervisor Mr Hellström, an avid weightlifter, frustrated and tired of barbells constantly bending and breaking, was determined to find a better solution. He approached Mrs Johansson, the managing director, with his idea and received permission to pursue the project. Eleiko worked closely with a Swedish steel company to formulate a special hardened steel – a propriety mix perfected over time and still in use today. The barbell appropriately received a waffle pattern knurling, a nod to the company’s history. To complement this much-improved barbell, Eleiko produced a collection of metal weightlifting plates setting a new course for the company’s future.

Our new 18,300 m2 logistic centre in Halmstad, Sweden, supports our continued growth. It consolidates our warehouses in Sweden and free up space to expand production operations. We have achieved a silver certification and power our operations with renewable energy bolstering our ambitions toward carbon neutrality.

A Swedish Family Business The Next Generation

A New Chapter

The Blomberg family was part of the Eleiko story long before acquiring the company. Lennart Blomberg, a family friend of the original owners, Mr and Mrs Johansson, was an experienced and successful businessman when in 1997, Eleiko was made available for purchase.

Great potential and a hint of nostalgia led the Blombergs to acquire the company. It has remained a familyowned and operated business since.

The Next Generation

Today, the next generation has taken the helm, while Mrs Gunnila Blomberg stays active in the company through its board of directors.

CEO Erik Blomberg leads the company inspired by his father’s principled leadership, where humour, optimism, and kindness built a strong foundation for growth. These traits, a commitment to learning, a drive to optimize human performance, and a passion for strength and professional strength sports guide Eleiko today.

Rickard Blomberg heads the growing US operations. Hans Blomberg run the Tech Team, while Madeleine Blomberg is part of the Board.

“Lifting makes me complete”

Gunnila Blomberg, owner of Eleiko, share her story of how at 67 years old, she’s the strongest she’s ever been – and how lifting has become an essential part of living life to the fullest.

Even though I’ve been surrounded by weights and bars for many years at Eleiko, I only started lifting about 6 years ago. I’ve been active my whole life, but never strength training. I also had some problems with back pain. One day, I came to a point in my life where everything changed. My husband passed away and left me and my children responsible for Eleiko. This was a very challenging time in my life.

At that time, my son Erik, CEO at Eleiko, came to me with a gift – a package of personal training sessions with Micke, a personal trainer here in Halmstad. He taught me how to lift and showed me what lifting is really about. The back problem I had suffered from almost all my life just disappeared. For the past 6 years, I’ve trained with Micke almost every week – and I feel healthier than ever.

At 67, I am probably the strongest I have ever been. Lifting makes me able to live life to the fullest.

My strength allows me to do what I want in my life, like mountain bike in the woods or by the ocean or play paddle tennis with my girlfriends. This year, I was also able to complete Vasaloppet. I never thought I could achieve that a few years ago. My whole life is impacted by being strong. It makes my everyday life so much easier. I can carry my groceries up three flights of stairs by myself and have the strength and energy to play with and lift my grandchildren. That has always been my main goal with my training – to be able to keep living life to the fullest, every day.

We actively work to bring manufacturing and sourcing closer to home for better control and transparency. We have successfully moved sourcing for some of our core products, apparel & gear and continue to invest in in-house manufacturing.
