Commitment to Education Besides Seth Anandram Jaipuria College in Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta) which had the distinction of being inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the House of Jaipurias later established a Jaipuria School each in the cities of Kanpur and Lucknow. Placement Co-ordinator’s Message Our commitment to grooming first rate young managers for the corporate world begins with their selection process and the way they are nurtured throughout their two year full time learning with us. Selected through CAT/MAT/XAT and followed by intense interview process, these graduates are put through a rigorous programme of learning through 35 courses besides eight weeks summer internship programme. The pedagogy mix comprises of learning beyond the class room and includes live studies, applied research projects and futuristic studies honing their predictive and analytical skills besides the case presentation/ discussion, simulation and role-plays. The integrated course CAPSTONE Business Simulation also forms part of the core courses taken by the students. The Institute follows a continuous evaluation system as a part of its trimester scheme of its programme. They are taught by committed full time faculty of the Institute comprising a mix of industry managers turned academics and highly qualified professors. The patronage of the Institute by a leading business house has enabled us to have a strong industry interface which in turn supported us to offer contemporary courses of study and grooming students to be industry ready.
Introduction of new courses or updation of the existing ones based on feedback of industry, recruiters and students is, therefore, a regular part of our annual exercise. Jaipuria Noida’s Infrastructure Campus Modernity, aesthetics and simplicity characterize the four acre green campus which is located in the prime institutional area of sector 62 in Noida close to New Delhi. To create an ambience that motivates students for a well-rounded development, the campus is aesthetically designed and elegantly built with state-of-the art equipment and facilities. A beautiful lawn, a large green central court and an open-air amphitheatre contribute immensely to providing a stimulating learning environment in the campus. The air conditioned academic complex consists of well equipped theatre style and classic lecture halls, two auditoriums, two floors of library, four computer labs and the faculty offices. Learning Centers Naturally lighted, large and airy learning centers with a structure having high ceilings and large corridors are designed to promote maximum interaction between the faculty and the students. The air-conditioned learning centers are well equipped with a PC, LCD, OHP and LAN connectivity. Both the theatre style and classic learning centers are furnished with specially designed desks for the comfort of students. Computer Labs Jaipuria, Noida is a Wi-Fi campus with 24 x 7; 3MB Radio link Internet connectivity. It has more than 300 Lenovo CoreT2 Duo and Dual Core Processor PCs and latest generation of high end servers, laser printers and scanners. Along with that the students are provided with Lenovo Dual Core Laptops. The institute has a well established and well equipped Central Computing facility housed in four computer labs. Apart from a host of routine and special softwares, the computer labs have the latest operating systems such as Windows 2003 Server and Red Hat Linux ES 3.0 at the Server level and Windows XP Professional OS at the client level. Data base level includes Oracle 9i, MS SQL Servers. Statistical packages like SPSS and databases like Prowess are also available. It also has a Linux base web and mail server solution to protect the IT set up from malicious mails and activities. The institute is in the process of implementing ERP which would enable students to get real time information of what is happening in the campus.

Library Jaipuria, Noida library serves as a creative and innovative player in supporting the teaching, learning, scholarship and research activities of the Institute. Spread over two floors and housed in a beautiful library building, it coaxes scholars for a spectacular journey into the world of scholars and professionals. The library is entirely devoted to the scholastic needs of the management students and faculty. It carries a wide range of publications on management, business and economic subjects through its fast growing core collection of around 9100 volumes. The library also subscribes to around 137 journals and magazines which cover broad spectrum of Institute's thrust areas. Important local, regional and national dailies in English and Hindi are also an important part of Newspaper section of this library. Hostel The institute has an aesthetically built modern hostel residences for women students within the campus. The residence facility for men students is available in an institute leased hostel located in close proximity to the Institute. Maximum occupancy in Girls Hostel is 192 and 160 in men's hostel. These residences are beautifully furnished, have 24x7 power back up, internet connectivity and security arrangements besides carrying a moderately equipped gym, common room with television, providing for a variety of indoor and outdoor games for recreation, and of course, the mess serving sumptuous wholesome meals.

Cafeteria The campus has a modern cafeteria well furnished to cater to students’ taste. Besides beverages and snacks, it has a provision for serving meals to day boarding students as well. Sports Facilities The campus offers both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. We have a large sports field with facilities for playing, badminton, volleyball and cricket. We also have a common room for indoor sports. Medical Facility Besides the handy first aid facility, the institute has a Medical Room and an experienced doctor in campus twice a week in addition to being available on call round the clock. Students are also offered protection under a limited accidental insurance policy cover.

Personality Development To assist students fit in the Global Corporate Culture, the Institute lays special emphasis on personality grooming through presentations, public speaking, mock interviews, aptitude tests and industry interactions. Jaipuria, Noida arranges guest lecture from corporate professionals on weekly basis. This helps students to develop capacity for analysis and judgment, ability to relate to managerial problems and draw upon their own resources for better understanding and meaningful action. Students, therefore, are groomed to join the industry not as a mere Job earner, but to influence its practices, and in the long run become an active participant in reshaping the nation's destiny.
LEARNING RESOURCES The learning resources at Jaipuria, Noida comprise of its Library & Resource Centre (LRC), seminar & conferences organized at the campus under the banner of its advanced centers of advanced studies & research, personality development sessions and mentoring programmes. Library & Resource Centre (LRC) The LRC is the hub for the library and information services in the Institute. As a part of its electronic resources, it subscribes to Business Source Premier of EBSCO, which permits speedy retrieval of contents of around 8600+ online journals on various functional areas of management. Apart from this aggregator’s specialized product, various CD and DVD ROMs are being subscribed by the library to facilitate its users. With the help of Developing Library Network (DELNET) the user of the library can exploit the collection and services offered by DELNET and its member institutions in India and abroad.
Mentoring and Counseling The Institute’s mentoring programme aims to provide professional and objective advice and information service to all students to smoothen their entry to the corporate world. It offers confidential support to students in any matter that causes concern such as anxiety, stress, etc. About 15 students are attached to each faculty member who acts as their mentor and counselor throughout the duration of the programme. INDUSTRIAL VISITS Industry visits supplement the theoretical knowledge with practical inputs through direct interaction with corporate heads in a live setting. This helps the students to gain indepth understanding of the specific challenges faced by an organization and also in development of case studies and projects. Jaipuria has strong relationship with various corporate entities and their associations. The regular industrial visits and other similar activities foster academia-industry relationship.

INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP The Summer Training or Industry Internship is an integral part of our all PGDM programmes and aims at achieving the following objectives:
Digital Library The Digital Library (DL@JIM-NOIDA) blends collection of research articles, case studies, reports, peer-reviewed literature, working papers and news clippings (viewpoints, opinions and news about the institute) in all thrust areas of the institute in digital and audio/video formats. It is also working as an institutional repository for the institute. The LRC has been using Open source software to facilitate the user to retrieve and explore this collection of scholarly literature with interactive search facilities. The LRC is moving towards an outstanding knowledge centre catering all information needs of its users.

In nutshell Jaipuria Noida's LRC is heading towards ‘Virtual Library’ with interactive mode dissemination of scholarly information to its users. Centers of Advanced Studies & Training With the objective to serve the industry and academia through creation, development and dissemination of knowledge and its applications through education, training, research and consultancy, the Institute has set up the following two Centers of Advanced Studies & Research: » Center of Entrepreneurship Management » Center of Plant Nutrients Management Besides developing course of studies and identifying areas of research, a large number of seminars and conferences are organized by these centers from time to time.
Industry Internship is an important and integral part of the Post-Graduate Program and the Corporate Resource Centre of the Institute, led and supported by faculty members assists students in finding appropriate industry assignments. Industry internship provides an opportunity to students to gain an exposure to actual managerial environment and apply their acquired theoretical knowledge to operational and strategic issues working alongside experts and professionals. Each student is required to undergo eight-week summer training at a leading organization by undertaking a project of direct relevance to the concerned organization. Subsequently, a presentation on the project and a viva-voce before a panel of experts is held. The concerned company executive normally provides feedback to the Programme Director on the student performance. It should be noted that summer internship is an essential requirement for award of the Diploma.

Our Academicians Director DR. ANUP K. SINGH Ph.D., University of Allahabad, Allahabad Dr. Singh has been a Director of Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. Before joining the Institute, he was Professor at the International Management Institute, New Delhi Earlier he was Professor and Chairman of the Organisational Behaviour Area at the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. He has done his Ph.D. from the University of Allahabad, Allahabad and Post Doctoral Fellowship from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was also a Visiting Scholar at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business Administration, Northwestern University, Evanston. He has six books to his credit, viz., the Social Psychology of Poverty, Human Resource Development, Managerial Wisdom through Tales, Learning to Lead, Developing and Designing Organisations for Tomorrow and Developing Leaders, Teams, and Organisations. He has published more than 60 articles in reputed journals, such as International Journal of Psychology, Journal of Social Psychology, Social Work, Administration in Social Work, MDI Management Journal, Management Review, Vikalpa, etc. He has done several research projects. He was the editor of Vision: the Journal of Business Perspective. He has consulted with several organisations, including Bharat Electronics, British Council, NLF, Samsung Electronics India Limited, DLF, New Holland, and National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, etc. He also helped Public Enterprises Selection Board in developing performance management system for top managers of navaratna Public Sector organisations. AMAN SRIVASTAVA Finance Ph.D (JMI, New Delhi), MBA (Finance), B.Sc. ADMISSION PROCESS Eligibility Our PGDM Programmes are targeted at individuals with high potential for success in business and industry. Such individuals must have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (under 10+2+3 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a University recognized by Association of Indian Universities / AICTE. Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible, provided they complete all formalities of their examination before June 30. Such candidates, on selection, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the certificate is December 31. Nonfulfillment of this condition will automatically result in cancellation of the provisional admission. Selection Process The admission are aimed at taking in deserving students who have a high aptitude for managerial effectiveness and possess requisite analytical, conceptual and communication skills. Admissions are made on the basis of merit, based on: » Valid Score in the written admission test – CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA (GMAT for foreign students) » Past academic record / work experience, and » Performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Final selection is based on the cumulative score received by candidates on the above components of the selection process. Academic Norms, Rules & Regulations The Academic calendar, which normally runs from July to Mid-April, is based on the trimester system, with the first three trimesters being followed by a compulsory eight week industry internship during the summer falling between the two academic years. The next three trimesters conclude the course. Each trimester normally runs for 12 to 13 weeks. The curriculum is based on a system of full credit courses, each comprising of 35 hours. While we expect our students to attend all classes including the guest sessions, seminars, conferences, etc, 80% attendance is compulsory. We follow a continuous assessment / evaluation system. Surprise quizzes, Assignments, class participation, Project work / Term paper and of course the mid trimester and end trimester exams form part of it. We also lay great emphasis on values and conduct and therefore do not tolerate unacceptable behaviour and conduct.
Curriculum, Courses, Pedagogy and Credits PGDM, PGDM (Services), PGDM (Marketing) The Institute offer three AICTE approved two year full time programmes - PGDM, PGDM (Services), PGDM (Marketing). All these programmes have been developed with the objective to groom Managers not mere MBAs. The vision of the programmes is to develop world-class professionals with strong value systems. The second year provides inputs in the chosen area of specialization and is customized to the student's career focus and industry requirements. The three trimesters in the second year are geared towards an in-depth understanding of the respective fields of specialization. Thus, making the student industry ready to lead real life challenges. Industry internship Industry Internship is an integral part of all our PGDM programmes and aims at enriching participants first hand experience of familiarizing with the way corporate enterprise work. Besides giving them a deeper understanding of a specific functional area or problem solving skills, it also enables them to appreciate the linkages among different managerial functions. Each student is, therefore, required to undergo eight-week industry training at leading corporations by undertaking a project of direct relevance to the concerned organization. Subsequently, a presentation on the project and a viva-voce before a panel of experts is held. The concerned company executive normally provides feedback to the Programme Director on the student performance. It should be noted that summer internship is an essential requirement for award of the Diploma.
