WEATHER AND HOW TO PACK GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE WINTER (NOVEMBER- EARLY MARCH) Winter typically begins with snow dusting the mountain peaks, gradually blanketing the slopes by mid-December and the valley by mid-January. Periodic winter storms punctuate the season, occasionally lasting for multiple days. Snowy, overcast conditions usually bring milder temperatures, ranging from 10°F to 35°F, while clear winter skies can usher in single-digit temperatures.

SPRING (MID MARCH – APRIL) March brings variable weather, with early March still resembling winter conditions and a gradual shift toward spring-like weather by mid to late March. Temperatures start to rise, and the days lengthen. Moving into April, winter’s grip loosens as snowstorms give way to spring showers and brilliantly sunny days. Days become warmer, although evenings may still retain a touch of chill. Snowstorms can still occur, delivering fresh powder, or warmer temperatures might bring spring-ski conditions.
