Editor's Letter Some of us are so excited when we heard the word SUMMER, different thoughts came to our minds and all of those are happy moments. In fact, we have been planning our summer escapade way too early and checking our bucket list on where to go in the most anticipated vacation. At the back of our heads, summer is the moment when we need to recharge our self being, mentally at rest from all the stress at work, physically with family and friends while plunging into the turquoise water wherever beaches lead us. But the summer of the new decade (2020) is far beyond what we are mesmerizing. It turns not only upside down but 360 degrees unexpectedly. Some says “There comes a point in your life when you realize your hardest times are your best ...But I still hold that “In every sunset there comes a new sunrise full of energy that ignites”. Optimistic as it seems, that’s the way I live, that’s the way I believe…. Have fun and be safe.

P roj ect i n s u p po rt of Mankind
Reusing the new Brunello Cucinelli S.p.a: a new project for the allocation of surplus clothing resulting from the temporary closure of its boutiques due to the pandemic
T
his is the thought that has guided us; from various Western and Eastern philosophers we have learned that there is no absolute evil as there is no absolute good. There is always some good in evil and some evil in good, and both can teach us something. Bearing all this in mind, we felt the desire to gift mankind with those garments that are still in our boutiques due to the temporary interruption of sales. Their manufacturing, style and commercial value is the same, but their meaningfulness has sharply increased, because now they become a sensitive sign of the new way of conceiving capitalism, the kind of capitalism we tend to favour, whereby the harmony between profit and giving back accounts for one of its most meaningful humanistic moments. We have considered these garments as some sort of “loving resource” for mankind, so we would like to see this action as an investment for the future of our enterprise, in keeping with the great project of “living and working in harmony with Creation”. For this reason, we have set up a “Council in support of Mankind” made up of ten people, six of whom are from our family, and the rest come from the company. The above Council has the task of managing this sizeable amount of garments with a production value of thirty million euros and with a worldwide network made up of those partners of ours who have shown their sensitivity and willingness to carry out a project through which they will liaise with human beings focused on supporting the needy by sending them small packages containing these garments as gifts.

Secrets of a S h o pa h o l i c By Marta Bevin How to shop the SALES - Expert Tips! Sales shopping is every bargain hunters favourite time of year. However, with so many discounts on offer, we may end up spending way too much on items we don’t really want or need. So many of us fall into the trap of buying something just because the price was reduced and we thought it was a great deal! Allow me to share my golden rules of sales shopping, whether you shop online or in-store. 1.Prepare yourself before hitting the stores
4. Try before you buy
Eat something substantial at home and don’t forget to take a bottle of water to stay hydrated. It will be a long day so you must wear comfortable and breathable clothes including footwear you can easily take off while trying the clothes on in the changing room. Wear an across-the-body handbag, so you have your hands free for rummaging through piles of clothes.
So many of my clients admitted buying clothing on impulse and in a rush without trying them on first. There is a reason why those items are still hanging in the stores. They may have an unflattering fit, missing buttons or have make-up stains. Make sure you double-check before you buy anything or you will end up with an unwanted and sometimes non-refundable purchase.
2. Create a shopping list
5. Buy the right size
Check your closet first before you go shopping. You need to know what you own in your current wardrobe to create a list of what you wear on regular basis, what you don’t have but would like to get and the items you really don’t need another version of. If you have a list. you are more likely to stick to it and prevent wasting your money on items you won’t actually wear.
Sometimes we find a great item on sale and feel like we have to have it, even though it doesn’t fit right. If your size is out of stock, maybe it isn’t meant to be. Save your money for something you can actually wear.
3. Set yourself the budget
Don’t buy something just because the price dropped dramatically. Maybe there is a reason why? Carefully check to see if the item is damaged. Don’t waste your money on something unless you really like it and you are definitely going to wear it.
Stick to your list and your budget so you won’t overspend. Spend your money only on something you really need or like. Ask yourself, ‘If the item was full price would I still buy it?’

6. Don’t be tempted by the low price

17
7. Be charming to staff
2. Sign in
Be friendly and chatty to members of staff. Ask them when new stock is coming out. If they are out of something you really like, get them to call another store to assist.
Make sure you’re signed into your account before you start shopping otherwise, whatever you put into your basket will be gone before you press the pay button.
8. Check the changing rooms
3. Payment details
Most of the time some of the best buys get left in the changing rooms. Ask a sales assistant if you can go through the racks.
Think about pre-entering your payment details including shipping details and saving them to your account so you can complete purchases as quickly as possible. After you are done delete your personal data for security reasons.
9. Thursdays are scheduled for further markdowns If your budget is tight, the best day to shop is Thursday. This is when most stores mark down old stock and rotate new merchandise.
10. What can you wear it with? Ask yourself an honest question, would this item go with other things I already own? If you struggle to picture the item working with your current wardrobe then it’s best to put it away and save your money for something else.
11. Buy with next season in mind Trends come and go every season, but there are essential wardrobe items that every woman should own. While making a shopping list concentrate on these timeless and classic pieces that should be the base of your wardrobe. A good pair of black and blue jeans, a classic white shirt or a casual blazer may need replacing so make sure they are on your list.
12. Know the Returns Policy Most retailers have a 30 day refund policy, however make sure you double check with the cashier or sales assistant before you purchase anything. Some of the retailers only offer an exchange or a 3-7 day returns policy.
Online Shopping Tips 1. Sign up If you decide to shop online, remember to sign up for your favourite retailers newsletters a few days in advance. They will be keen to advertise their best deals.
18
4. Shop before the sales start Log into your account the day before the sales start. Choose your items wisely and save everything in your basket. This way you won’t waste your time searching for items or risk not being able to buy them because they are out of stock. Double check everything before you submit your order.
5. Extra shipping costs Most retailers offer free delivery if you spend a certain amount on your purchase. Standard shipping is the cheapest option however, if you want to save more money choose delivery to the store.
6. Returns policy Check the policy. Usually retailers let the customer return an unwanted product for up to 30 days after the date of purchase. However, make sure you double check who will pay for the return shipping.
Although shopping in the sales can be challenging, with a little bit of patience and a willingness to shop around, you can create a whole new wardrobe for much cheaper. Plan your shopping trip in advance and save money, there’s no need to spend a fortune on clothes.
Happy Shopping!

I
t was winter in 2016, Marco was wearing his camel-black coat for the first time. He was ready for the photoshoot for the new collection. A group of men passing by the streets of Milano when suddenly they stopped and start asking about the coat. The designer shared its details – it’s a normal scene for him during a shoot and it happening very often. As it turned out, those people became his first customers from Doha. That’s how Marco Castelli opened his new destination and got absolutely in love The Pearl of the Middle East – Qatar. What makes you think that Qatar will be another capital of fashion? Fashion in Qatar is a big potential. Many talented designers are “hungry of knowledge” in international fashion. They are very creative, thinking out of the box and open for new challenges and ideas. I was challenged as well in helping and assisting them in their journey while sharing my experiences and knowledge in arranging events and pop ups in the last year VCU conference. I was grateful to be one of the Jury in VCU 20th Annual Fashion Show held in Mall of Qatar. Sharing my opinion of the outfits which to be shown during the event, was a great pleasure and contentment and it was an amazing performance.
When was your journey started in the fashion field? When you think that you want to be a designer? During my younger years, I was dreaming to be a Superhero in my own capacity. Creating things with my own hands, like for instance, new motorbike out from spare parts and new sculpture out from iron. I was surrounded by arts during my childhood. I remembered my grandpa had a metal sculpture workshop and my family were all involved in creating different things from iron. That inspiration gave me the courage what I will be come in the future.
You are well-travelled and a model of the best brands in the world. How those experiences motivates you to become a designer? When you work as model, you are surrounded by talented people and beautiful clothes. You travel, networking, always in this creative flow. I’ve been modeling for 10 years, traveled the globe and showcase different brabd. My first trip out of Italy was New York, USA, worked in France, China, Japan, UK, Sweden, Russia. Each countries was a source of inspiration. I started to sketch my own pieces and was wearing it during my trips as model. Every time I showed my designs, the feedbacks was fantastic, so I made a step forward and opened a brand “Marco Castelli”.

As you celebrated your 5th year anniversary, do you still remember your first client? It was a funny story of my first ever jacket that we sold. I was modeling in Asia and received a call from the Manager of my company. He was very excited to tell me that my design was bought by Adam Lambert. I said – Oh, Great, Who is he? I was informed then that Adam is a famous American singer and song writer.
What is your inspiration? Some says inspired person is unpredictable, unstoppable and very creative. Competition is very stiff in the fashion world, how do you cope up with this challenges? In terms of new ideas and sales wise. My recipe of perfect inspiration: 1 hour walking in any place with beautiful nature or interesting arts exhibition plus some workout and good warm chat with my family members. These are the sources of my creative vibes and moments in my daily routine. I believe inspiration can be enforced if you need new ideas at any given time. Just find my comfy spot, concentrate and start inscription. Write in a piece of paper and everything is possible. That’s how I survived the 40 days quarantine in Milano. When I literary locked in the house, the best thing I did – look deeper inside myself and think of new ideas and be productive. As of to date, one of the ideas I created was already a product - mask with a symbol of Acacia and successfully sold in many countries all over the world. Nowadays, its very trendy to use natural fabrics, recycling materials, what about “Marco Castelli” – is it sustainable brand? I would say that the ideas of my brand is already sustainable – you cannot find in any of my showrooms 2 similar pieces – with each uniqueness and single pieces, its incomparable. The materials I used are only organic fabrics like cashmere, silk and jersey. Sometimes, I manually drawn on my shirts and I used parts of other existing items as a details for the new pieces, giving it a new look and new life. Most importantly the production of all collections must be done in Italy.
During your stay in Qatar, what is your experiences? As you mentioned, cultural heritage is one of your interest and your are a nature loving individual. Have you been to the desert and explore its beauty? It was a very funny story happened to me in the desert. My friend Adam and I had a photoshoot on the top of sand dunes. Adam asked me to go a bit wild and slide on the dune barefooted. As I removed my shoes, we saw a snake coming out from the sand. It was just few seconds and it disappeared in the dunes. It was bit scary and surprising and I’ll never forget that moment. From that day till now, I decided not take off my shoes in the desert again.
What are the advices and words of inspiration you can share to the new aspiring designers of the generation? There will be enough market for everyone, follow your dreams, have a good plan and move forward with clear ideas. Where you want to be and what you want to achieve, don’t be afraid of mistakes – learn from it, as learning is a continuous process in life. Divert it into experience and through then you will see that everything is possible as long as you believe in yourself.

H&M Collaborates with First Arab Designer Sandra Mansour By Marta Bevin
F
or the first time, H&M is collaborating with a Middle Eastern designer to launch a new feminine and empowering womenswear collection dedicated to the love of nature. Lebanese designer Sandra Mansour, the eponymous Beirutbased brand known for its dreamy and daring aesthetic — always with a modern coolness to it. Inspired by strong female artists and the beauty of nature, the collection features intricate designs in a muted colour palette, where handcrafted details like edgy ruffles and layers of romantic fabrics create a youthful, empowering look. Sandra Mansour established her fashion house in 2010 and her attention to detail and craftsmanship, mixed with inspiration from art and her surroundings in Beirut, shines through in all her designs. For the Sandra Mansour x H&M collection, Sandra draws inspiration from elements of nature and female artists such as Toyen, Dorothea Tanning, Lena Leclercq and Bibi Zogbé. The result is a feminine and strong range of dresses, blouses and skirts, a tailored blazer, and a printed T-shirt and hoodie. Fit-and-flare shapes and ruffled hems are mixed with volume and statement details in an earthy colour palette of mushroom greys, ivory and black. Mansour names each of her collections, and the Sandra Mansour & H&M collaboration is entitled “Fleur du Soleil” after becoming fascinated with the way a sunflower follows the sun from day into night. Dot, floral and sunflower motifs enrich sheer, delicate fabrics and emphasise the craftsmanship, while the feminine silhouettes exude power and urban edge. The Sandra Mansour x H&M collection will be available in selected stores and online from 27th August 2020.

rasp a piece of sky. Follow the movement of a cloud. Watch a raindrop fall. Be mesmerized by a feather’s swirling flight. Contemplate.
With her new High Jewelry collection, Claire Choisne, Creative Director of Maison Boucheron, aimed to seize the intangible by revealing the fleeting beauty of the natural world. “For years, I have wanted to capture the ephemeral, to convey the poetry of present moments, the purity of the sky, light effects. The jeweler’s art is about stopping time in its tracks, making instants eternal when, by their very essence, they are not”. Comprising sixty-seven pieces, Contemplation represents the most personal and intimate collection of High Jewelry ever created by Claire Choisne. The codes of Boucheron are interpreted with an extremely sensorial approach: pieces seem to quiver with the slightest breath on the skin, fragments of stars are caught in airy matter, a cloud of diamonds swirls on a weightless necklace. The first jeweler to open on Place Vendôme now invites us to reconnect with our senses in order to appreciate what is most precious: the present moment.

N E W TO N ES O F E L E G A N C E F O R THE CODE 11.59 BY AUDEMARS P I G UE T C O L L E C T I O N A
year after its official launch, Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet continues to evolve with five new Selfwinding date, hour, minute and second references and five new Selfwinding Chronograph models. Adorned with complex lacquered dials and a palette of deep colours, these novelties offer a new contemporary twist to this timeless round watch. Rising to a new challenge, Audemars Piguet craftspeople have affirmed their creative vision via new smoked lacquered dials with sunburst pattern in hues of blue, burgundy, purple, as well as light and dark grey. The dials’ artistry is enhanced by the watch’s extrathin bezel and double curved glareproofed sapphire crystal. Playing with depth and light, this complex glass brings forward the detailed work adorning the dials, including the applied polished Audemars Piguet gold signature realised in galvanic growth. The dials’ elegant colours complement the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet’s contemporary architecture and refined decoration. Composed of an octagonal middle case, a round extra-thin bezel and stylised lugs, the unconventional case design pushed ancestral hand-finishing techniques to new heights with more details than meet the eye. The perfectly aligned alternation of satin-brushed and polished surfaces adorning the case was only achievable by hand. Designed for both men and women, this collection also features an optimum curved ergonomics, making it comfortable for all to wear despite its 41 mm in diameter. Audemars Piguet has also enriched its Selfwinding date, hour, minute and second models as well as its Selfwinding Chronograph models with a two-tone case aesthetics juxtaposing 18-carat white and pink gold. This exclusive combination highlights the case’s multiple geometries, hand-finished to the nine, as well as the collection’s blend of age-old craftsmanship and innovative design. Each watch comes with a hand-stitched “large-square scale” alligator strap matching the dial’s colour. Making no compromise, Audemars Piguet once again unites tradition and contemporary lifestyle in this colourful collection which testifies to the Manufacture’s creativity and forward-thinking spirit.

he past few months have been challenging not only emotionally and mentally but also physically, with work-from-home schedules, movement restrictions and erratic sleep cycles. Yoga can help us de-stress and gain that balance and harmony that we might be missing in our daily lives. Six Senses Global Head of Yoga, Dorelal Singh, has suggested six simple yoga poses (asanas) for the body, to remove energy blockages from the muscles and improve circulation, flexibility, strength, muscle form and tone. These asanas reduce back and joint pains, arthritis, migraines and muscle soreness, stabilize breath and improve lung capacity. The first three standing stretches are ideal to perform in the morning (try 10 of each) after having a glass of lukewarm water with half a teaspoon of lime juice and two pinches of sea salt. 1. Tadasana (the palm tree pose) involves stretching or traction during which the entire body is pulled upwards and each joint is expanded from toes right to the tip of your hands. Repeat five times. 2. Tiryaka tadasana (the swaying palm tree pose) - this lateral stretch stimulates the lesser used muscles of the body by stretching the side muscles. There is a complete stretch from the legs right up to the arms. Repeat five times. 3. Surya Namaskara (salute to the sun) - This movement combines forward and backward movements. Repeat three times (five breaths in each round). 4. Cobra pose - This stretches the chest while strengthening the spine and shoulders. It is an energizing backbend that reduces stress and fatigue. Repeat three times (five breaths in each round). 5. Half spinal twist - Increases your spinal flexibility and range of motion. It also stretches the muscles on one side of the body whilst compressing the muscles on the other side. Repeat two times (five breaths in each round). 6. Sirshasana - A practice that involves inversion of the body. For beginners, the headstand can be too advanced so they should start with a shoulder or half shoulder stand. Stay for two minutes or up to 20 breaths. After this, relax in a lying pose for five minutes and be aware of your natural breath.

F ERR A R I 8 1 2 G T S T H E V 1 2 S P I D ER RETURN S 800 CV MAKES IT THE MOST POWERFUL PRODUCTION CONVERTIBLE ON THE MARKET Exactly 50 years on from the debut of the last spider in the Ferrari range to sport a front-mounted V12, the 812 GTS hails a triumphant return for a model type that has played a pivotal role in the marque’s history since its foundation. The Ferrari V12 spider story features many iconic models and began in 1948 with the 166 MM, an authentic thoroughbred competition GT that won the two most prestigious endurance races in the world in 1949: the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The last in that long lineage was the 1969 365 GTS4, also known as the Daytona Spider because of Ferrari’s legendary victory in the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona when two works 330 P4s and the NART-entered 412 P took the chequered flag side-by-side to occupy the top three places. The front-mounted V12 architecture has not been used in a Ferrari series-production spider since the 365 GTS4. That said, four special series limited editions have been launched: the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina in 2000, the Superamerica in 2005, the SA Aperta in 2010 and, most recently, the F60 America of which just 10 were built to celebrate Ferrari’s 60th year on the American market in 2014. The retractable hard top (RHT), which opens in just 14 seconds at speeds of up to 45 km/h, does not impinge upon the interior dimensions, thus maintaining the donor car’s roomy cockpit. The electric rear screen, which acts as a wind-stop, makes the car truly useable with the top down while, with the top up, it can be left open to allow occupants to continue to luxuriate in the naturallyaspirated V12’s unique soundtrack.
