Motivation letter

Through my education in Central Saint Martins, I developed an understanding of approaching architecture with a critical mind, knowing that everything is tied in a loop of interconnectivity and interdependence. Relating materials to context, historical and cultural background and designing for and with a community is essential. One aspect cannot exist by itself, because it is dependent on everything else and like a domino effect, when a small detail changes, it shifts everything around. And this is the beauty of spatial practices.

As a 22-year-old, my personality and passions have been defined by my enthusiasm to travel the world, I have visited 13 countries, lived in 3 distinct locations, and studied at 5 educational institutions. These diverse experiences have profoundly influenced my character and strengthened my passion for architecture, making me question how can architecture combine community empowerment, cultural preservation, and sustainable development.

Engaging in a dynamic collaboration with a design London-based innovator on a project centred around the research and design of a nomadic village has been a transformative experience for me. Intrigued in the development of a novel concept, I’ve been tasked with the exciting challenge of translating organic shapes into tangible 3D designs, that would be later 3D printed. Simultaneously, my role as a part-time architectural assistant at a construc- tion firm has provided invaluable insights into the multifaceted role of archi- tects within construction teams. Through delivering detailed 2D drawings and 3D renders for interior design projects, I’ve redefined my digital design skills while deepening my understanding of building processes and construction methodologies. My professional journey further evolved during my experience as an interior design intern at Design ART, where I thrived under pressure and developed a keen eye for detail. Contributing actively to design teams, coordinating with clients, and conceptualising interior design solutions, I embraced the challenge of mastering AutoCAD and Rhino within a tight time frame.

Demonstrating my strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset, I volunteered to deliver the design of a built set-up for the BA Fashion’s ‘Festival of Fashion’ in 2022, a pursuit that demanded adaptability, creativity, and dedication. Following that, my participation in the Gingerbread City Exhibition provided a platform to showcase my design expertise alongside London-based architecture firms, highlighting the potential for architects and designers to tackle global challenges like climate change through innovative approaches. Eager to get involved in hands-on projects, I contributed to the construction of the BA Architecture Graduate Show, collaborating closely with peers and mentors to curate an immersive exhibition experience. This experience inspired me to become a RIBA Architecture Ambassador, where I facilitate interactive workshops with aspiring architects, fostering a deeper understanding of architectural principles and practices within London-based schools. My ongoing initiatives with primary schools expand my dedication to encourage the development of future generations of architects, as we explore the diverse applications of materials in various climates and contexts.

I am eager to gain experience in new fields and deepen my architectural knowledge. I am keen to learn what more the real architecture world has to offer to me and I would be honoured if I could continue my journey with you!
