RETAIL-TO-FITNESS REDEVELOPMENT
REDEVELOPMENT INFILL: EQUINOX ARIZONA A parking garage adjacent to the Scottsdale Fashion Square Dillard’s was partly demolished to make way for a fitness tenant building facing the new LUX entry to the main mall. Besides being land locked on three sides which is not common to Phoenix projects, it also faced several challenges including fire code issues at the parking garage and construction logistics.

RETAIL RENOVATION: Shared Office Shared office space with month-to-month membership was not previously available in Old Town Scottsdale and was added to part of the former Barney’s Department Store retail space. Four floors with a variety of rooms is accessible from several levels of the surrounding mall. The tenant required several upgrades to the shell to ensure a luxurious office experience. New entrances and curtain wall from the building exterior and interior was added, and numerous clerestory windows were installed to the upper walls to allow natural light and sky views to be available from most interior spaces.

CORPORATE REDEVELOPMENT: Murphy Oil USA Murphy Oil spilt its company into American and International divisions in 2016 and proceeded to redevelop the current headquarters to fill the needs of the new American division’s workforce. The 1980’s Brutalist styled building atrium was retrofitted with new channel glass enclosed, oval conference rooms paired with open lounge and meeting areas at three of five floors. New finishes, furniture, and infrastructure upgrades were made throughout and complemented the addition of a futuristic exterior covered entry, patio, and walkway.
