Spring Break ‘10
Dominican Republic
All high school students are invited to register for our Spring Break mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Our group will stay in the city of Santiago, more specifically in the barrio of Hoya del Ciamito. This is the home and church of Ramon Gabriel. Ramon is the President of G.O. Ministries, Inc in the Dominican Republic. The team will sleep in a dormitory down the street from the church and across from the school. In addition to the initial information meeting, we will have regular meetings with financial goals leading up to the trip. These are outlined below:
The city of Santiago serves hosts a large percentage of G.O. ministry teams. A Christian school in Hoya del Ciamito offers education to 250 children. In Hoya de Bartola (referred to as “the Hole”) a landfill where over 600 families live, a Feeding Center feeds a hot nutrition meal 6 days each week to 70 of the most needy children.

Experience a different culture. Be a part of something bigger than yourself. Grow as a leader. Build relationships with others on the trip and the families living in the DR. See how the majority of the world lives.

Next Steps: Following the informational meeting, your application and deposit will be due. After your application is approved, you will receive a packet containing an overview of the trip, financial information, parental consent and medical release, and an important checklist which includes immunization and passport information.
