PART 5. MAPPING PUBLIC SPACE PROPOSAL DATING PARADISE If Ørestad wants to be a vital city there should be a place for romance and love. To give a first kiss, hold hands and experience love, romance and sex. At this point there are little options in Ørestad to go to for the experience for this. A cinema has always been a place for all kinds of love for all ages and groups. This cinema has different privacy layers. You can sit in your own car, at the grandtribune or on the largere and smaller balconies. The higher people get in the watching tower, the more privacy is possible. The dating paradise does not only include ways to watch the movie. Walkby shops provide food, drinks and candy on one side. Aphrodisiacs, liqor, condoms and sex articles on the other side. A ‘Sneak Preview’ concept would broaden the target group by keeping the movie a secret.

PART 5. MAPPING PUBLIC SPACE STUDENTS AREA Ørestad is lacking space, where the large number of students in Copenhagen can live and freely express themselves. We believe this area in Ørestad is a world of opportunity for them. We propose the use of converted containers to provide modern, up to date yet still cheap, living space in an informal and fun environment. Integrated in this student zone we also intend to five boxes with a range of activities, that will allow the student and visitors alike to express themselves. These five boxes could be very diverse in uses but we propose, as a start, a Graffiti box where people will have an opportunity to display there abilities’ without fear of prosecution, a Beer box where a range of different beers would be available at student prices in a relaxed environment, a Sports box for the fitness minded and those, that want to try new sports including students and local residents, Business box where locals can conduct business meetings, and a Barbeque box with all the facilities provided, so locals and students can arrive there only with food and drink they need. Between boxes a new space will develop – vital public space in a human scale. Now the students and visitors can use and develop the space as they need.
