BRIEF TITLE: Leeds College of Art Way Finding (Brief 1) Brief: Re-design the way finding system for Leeds College of Art using a range of digital and print based outputs. Background: Leeds College of Art is one of the only specialist Art and Design schools in the UK. Their students enjoy close-knit community in a creative atmosphere where anything feels possible. Ranked the best university for Art and Design by the Guardian’s university guide the college is at the epicentre of the creative industry. Considerations: The wide audience range means that the designs must be functional and clear to all ages. The digital aspects of the brief must be fluid and work hand-in-hand with the printed aspects. Mandatory Requirements: All resolutions should coincide with the Leeds College of Art branding guidelines. Target Audience: Staff and students working and attending the college. Visiting artists and lecturers. Perspective students and parents. (Open days and interviews) General public attending gallery events or other college events. Tone of Voice: Professional and clean. Youthful and current. Appropriate to the wide audience range throughout the college. Deliverables: A functional way finding system suitable for all audience members. A variety of digital and print outputs. An on-going documentation and evaluation posted to relevant blogs. A minimum of 5 design boards showing final resolution. A video showing how the digital resolution works on smart phone and tablets. A written evaluation posted to design blog.
