Hallucinogenic ss14 about
I predict hallucinogenic will be a big trend for ss14. Influenced by the style sightmacro trend new optimism. Hallucinogenic is all about seeing something that’s not really there, merge of colours and shapes, an illusion. With the recession hitting big time and unemployment has reached an all time high many millennials are leaving higher education with no job and a huge debt. People are so fed up with feeling down that a new optimism has arrived, as a result new outlooks within design, playful dream like are work has developed. -Serendipity: Nothing is left to chance anymore but with new apps being developed we are able to get this back. Serendipitor is an navigation app with a twist it helps you find what you’re looking for by looking for something else. -Surprise: businesses are creating products with a surprise element. Randiwiches offer a different sandwich everyday whilst subscription site, not another bill sends subscribers a present each month to brighten their day. -Altruism: Doing something good for someone else. ‘The feel good factor’. We are lucky saw a philanthropist handing £1000 to unsuspecting recipients. -Live to laugh: A giggle a day keeps the doctor away. Humans are pleasure seekers. Laughter yoga clubs being the latest thing in which participants engage in breathing exercises that promote laughter. I predict hallucinogenic SS14 will develop into lux beachwear and eveningwear. Beautiful beachwear with iridescent features is yet to be done and will work really well for this season. Evening wear is becoming more and more popular to be worn in the day. the trend is about mixing eveningwear fabrics, hallucinogenic embellishment and day wear shapes.

Metallics are the key fabric for hallucinogenic SS14 within swimwear. bronzed gold worn out leather and iridescent greens and blues mix with high shine pearl and lilac creating a soft palette with a twist. As the key trend is lux beachwear, lounging by the pool not swimming fabrics aren’t the usual lycra but rich velvets, leather, neoprene and organza. Hallucinogenic ss14 - Lux beachwear silhouettes
hallucinogenic is about seeing something different to what it actually is, it’s an illusion. The silhouettes for this trend are about tricking the eye into thinking the body is smaller than it actually is ethicising the small waist. Inspired by 50’s an on trend shape for SS13 that I predict will develop into swimwear for SS14 as it’s a complimentary style for anyshape. the silhouettes feature high waisted bottoms and mesh inserts. They all give the illusion of an hour glass figure.

Hallucinogenic ss14 - Lux beachwear details
Luxe beachwear is not to be worn in the pool therefore the details are bright and extravagant. Iridescent stones encrusted in flounced organza that make up details on the beachwear. Beading is featured on the shoulders and bikini top. Statment shoulders will be a big trend for SS14. With iridescent being a big material of the moment I predict it will develop into beachwear for SS14.

High shine beachwear that reflects the sun and compliments the body showing off the consumers best bits. Made from light catching fabrics and encrusted with jewels and flounces. Wear with a sheer cover up and nude sandals making the lux beachwear the centre piece I predict this will inspire high street brands for following summer seasons.

Evening wear within hallucinogenic is all about the materials. Luxury rich velvets in deep purple, embellished from head to toe in glittery sequinned garments with flashes of gold that make it that extra bit luxurious. As the shapes for this trend a fitted and structured the fabrics are tough adding to the final shape. The fabrics are different to the usual spring summer choices, which makes it different and something consumers will want to buy into,

For eveningwear within this trend the details make the look complete. Fluffy bright ostrich feathers emphasis the top heavy silhouette whilst pleats make the trousers that little bit more formal. This trend needs luxurious embellishments and therefore is aimed at the higher price point of the market. Sparkling jewel tone Swarovski’s add the final sparkle and wow factor. The mix of details brings classic eveningwear factors in with the new.

Mixing luxurious fabrics for example velvet normally associated with eveningwear and top heavy silhouettes that can be for day and night. All wrapped up in deep blues and purples with touches over powdery lilac and oceanic blue. Add an ostrich jacket and cut out waist bring a youthful element to the look. Eccentric ss14 Nothing is right or wrong in fashion it’s all about making a statement and showing off your own style. Eccentric is the next big trend seen all over street style at fashion weeks, clashing colours and mixing textures, more is better. Taking inspiration from Anna Piaggi and Louise gray this bold trend will be very popular for spring summer 14. The macro trend from street style new optimism influenced eccentric as a trend because people are so bored of feeling down they want colour and positive things in their life. By extravagantly dressing it brings that little bit of happiness to the consumers. It’s a trend that can be developed within the high fashion market. They can use expensive luxurious materials for clothing and accessories making the overall look at lot more polished. Eccentric can also be developed for the high street but in a toned down style for example an bright printed shirt mixed with plain jeans. It’s a pretty out there trend some consumers may be afraid to fully buy into the trend. It’s aimed at all markets from juniors, menswear and womenswear high street and luxury. I predict this trend wiil be developed a lot further within footwear and headgear as we have already seen it as a head to toe look.

Eccentric ss14- Footwear materials
Materials for eccentric footwear SS14 are made up of metallic tough leathers in gold alongside orange leather with hole detailing. Coloured leather is slowly becoming more and more popular. The tough fabrics mix with bright lame and heavily embellished canvas creating a mix of textures. As for trims metallic string adds the extra wow to the shoes. The luxury end of the market are able to use expensive fabrics with different finishes there for this trend is aimed at them. However high street brands may have to use less expensive trims and materials to channel the trend.

Eccentric ss14- Footwear Silhouettes
The silhouettes for eccentric footwear SS14 varies but are all heels. the main shapes being bold and out there. Chunky heels are definitely a trend that will carry on for ss14. As pointed stilettos are coming back in I predict they will be around next summer developed further with the use of materials and contrast coloured heels. Sandals are of course a feature with it being a spring summer trend. They can be worn with socks creating the eccentric look. These silhouettes can be developed by both the high street and luxury market.

Eccentric headgear ss14 materials are a big mixture of textures. navy felt for classic hate shapes mixes with white leather for a contemporary decorative look. a thin Pink knit creates a tight fitted beanie, a hat that will carry on to be a trend for ss14. mustard yellow wool and gold raffia can create an eccentric facinator or decoration. This trend is aimed at the luxury end of the market, as hats are expensive to make and eccentric headgear needs high quality fabrics. However cheaper toned down versions can be made for the fast fashion market.

Eccentric ss14- headgear Silhouettes
With eccentric being a big spring summer trend the headgear isn’t for keeping warm it’s about decoration and making a statement. The cap has been developed from the sport trend also seen at fashion week’s street style by myself. I predict it will be a big trend for ss14 especially within the high street as it’s a very commercial shape. I predict the beanie will continue to be popular just made in a thin knit for the spring. Another key silhouette is the headscarf tied with a bold knot at the front made with printed bright fabric this is the perfect headgear for SS14, this is also very commercial as shops can sell a range of prints and offer many ways to tie it. These silhouettes can be developed by both high street and luxury market.
