AW13 Trend 01: Neon Florals

Floral Neon is a print trend that is was very popular at London Fashion Week AW13. The bright prints were worn in two different ways with contrasting prints or head to toe black. A mix of novelty accessories add a fun element to the look. I predict this trend will develop further in the juniors market for AW14. A mix of neon prints for Autumn Winter will create a vibrant look in the colder dreary months.

AW13 Trend 02: Dungarees

Dungarees rolled up have made a big comeback this AW13. Worn with a plain top, chunky sandals and an oversized coat it’s the perfect mix of masculine and feminine. This trend can be developed for the junior market with short dungarees for SS13 on the high street. It can also evolve within the luxury market using different fabrics for example leather. I predict long dungarees will be a fast track as they will soon be everywhere and consumers will get bored and move on to the next big thing.

AW13 Trend 03: Iridescent bags

Iridescent is a huge trend at the moment with it being mostly featured in accessories especially bags. It adds a contemporary edge to any outfit. The on trend shape is a clutch or small shoulder bag. This trend will only last a season, as fashion hungry consumers will soon become bored of it. However the material may develop further in clothing at the luxury end of the market. Stella McCartney’s SS13 collection being a prime example featuring skirts made from iridescent fabric. Aimed at women and juniors.

AW13 Trend 04: Shaggy Coats

Oversized Shaggy coats were seen all over at AW13 London fashion week. Made from faux fur and ostrich feathers. The main colours being black but also powder pink worn with similar colours underneath. Creating a head toe colour look, another trend that could evolve. I feel this trend will continue to be popular for next Autumn Winter developing in different colours. It’s aimed at the womenswear both high street and luxury.

AW13 Trend 05: Yves Klein Blue

Yves Klein blue is back in a big way. It was the colour of London fashion week AW13. Head to toe blue outfits were seen as well as in accessories. This added a highlight colour to an all black outfit. As colours tend to come and go I predict this trend will only be around for one season. It is a great trend for the high street to buy into as it can evolve in accessories and clothing. Aimed at the womenswear market.

AW13 Trend 06: Milanese Black

Spotted in Milan were stylish women in head to toe black. Mixing different textures like leather and fur. All paired with an oversized black bag. This is always an on trend look for autumn winter and will continue into next AW14. With black being a staple colour all markets high street and luxury can develop this trend, working with different fabrics. This is a trend that can be seen all over the world but the Milanese women look uber chic in it. Aimed at menswear, womenswear and juniors.
