If it’s Jazz & Blues Weekend, then it’s unofficially the middle of summer in Western New York. To celebrate, Ellicottville has pulled out all the stops to give you a break from your workaday world with nearly a dozen uniquely talented jazz and blues artists scheduled to perform Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. On Saturday and Sunday, stroll the streets of the charming village, relax over a tasty meal, explore the many shops and boutiques, and feel the beat of the bands performing live at the Monroe Street Main Stage from 1-4 p.m. each day. With Latin Jazz Ensemble Sol Y Sombra performing Saturday and BLUZEINN on stage Sunday, we’ll challenge anyone to keep their toes from tapping! Ellicottville’s popular watering holes are doing their part too, with live performances at the Gin Mill and Balloons both Friday and Saturday evenings and more great bands at Ellicottville Brewing Company, Madigan’s and the Silver Fox Steakhouse on Saturday. For the full slate of performers, times and venues, see page 3. With a little planning, you just might be able to hear them all!
