Rationale The main thing that I wanted to explore this year within my practice is the essence of behaviour; what makes people want to do things and why. At the start of the year I was more inclined to exploring how illustration can be used as a socially responsible method of communication in the contexts of education, health and wellbeing and current affairs in society. The essence of behaviour as a theme has presented itself in some areas of my practice this year, yet towards the end of the year I’ve found that the projects that I have enjoyed the most are those that have a stronger relation ‘people and places’, particularly having taken a strong interest towards urban development and architectural history. Traditional methods of image making including watercolour paint and mixed dry media have continued to lie at the heart of my practice, allowing me to have developed a stronger and more sensitive tone of voice that will drive me forward to continue developing my practice in years to come.

ACTION PLAN – use this section to identify specific tasks that you need to complete in order to resolve the brief. Deadline

Brief

What do you need to do?

1

Find a way of presenting the compilation of drawings; consider 30.03.17 making a concertina book or other type of publication. Research further, could these be made into products such as prints?

Produce high quality mock ups of my proposals inside a colouring book, with and without added colour. These can then be used within my portfolio.

08.03.17

2

30.03.17

3

Consider producing additional artworks for this brief to boost my portfolio, e.g. splash pages or additional designs for the two books.

13.03.17

4

Have rough sketches refined, ready to be finalised using the wacom cintiq.

5

Continue to brainstorm ideas, but have a strong concept in mind 04.04.17 ready to develop alongside FMP.
