Michael has been a staple in the New York City real estate scene for almost two decades. Michael is an expert broker who has not only overseen numerous residential development and construction projects, but also made a name for himself with some of the most record-breaking, high-profile deals of the last decade. These deals range from 432 Park Ave to The SherryNetherland Hotel, and numerous condos and cooperatives along Park and Fifth Aves and lofts downtown.
Michael graduated Babson College in Wellesley, MA, with a BS in Real Estate and Finance. He furthered his education with a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and earned a Master’s degree in Real Estate from New York University. Michael joined Douglas Elliman in 2006 and founded the Michael Lorber Team in 2019 which has grown to over a dozen agents.
As a star of “Million Dollar Listing New York” Michael displayed his encyclopedic knowledge of real estate history, architecture and design. He also began to build on his own real estate portfolio and learned how to invest wisely in New York, Florida and Massachusetts. Outside of work, Michael serves as a Trustee of Babson College, the New York Restoration Project, and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. In the late 80s, after graduating from college and on my way to law school, Lee made a detour and joined my stepfather in a small countertop and cabinetmaking business in Brooklyn, New York that he had started back in 1956.
33 years and over 1,000 successful projects later, Lee built The Renovated Home, (now TRH New York) into the premiere residential design/build firm in New York City always delivering on that on-time and on-budget promise that the originally based the company on.
