I have always been one to explore how things work, often stripping products down as a child only to redraw them in my own image and this curiosity has only become greater as I have matured and become further educated in design, artistry and industry.

Affordable Listening | Earphone How Can Earphones be Cheap, Stylish and Functional at the Same Time?
Earbuds are typically less expensive than headphones, much lighter and far less bulky.
Because earbuds only sit in your ear canals, they don't affect your hairstyle, or the wearing of glasses and earrings.
Earphones should express ones sense of style with as not only is it an instrument to play sounds but also a fashion accessory.
01
Cheap, hard plastic is used for the outer shell of the earphone and serves to protect the sensitive inner workings of the device.
Newer earphones use rubber around the earphone speaker. This is used to add extra comfort for the user.
Eye catching and expressive. Low cost does not mean boring.
All materials used should recyclable to help with environmental crisis.

1. Rubber tip for comfort 2. Cheap plastic shell 3. Simple yet colourful design 4. Ergonomic shape 5. Left and right indicators Sketching is always important as to gather and develop ideas as well as to explore problems and solutions.
Initially I was moving towards the idea of an earpiece but thought the design too exotic and massively toned down the extravaganza.
6. Recyclable aluminium, rubber and plastic
PDP | Bringing Back Personal Communication Is There a Way to Encourage Personal Communication Instead of Screens?
Bill Gates didn’t let his children have cell phones until they were teenagers. Steve Jobs famously didn’t let his kids use iPads or iPhones. And former Wired magazine editor and tech entrepreneur Chris Anderson, who is also a father of five, set parental controls and time limits on all the screens and gadgets his kids used.
Technology addiction is a very real problem. Not only are innovations such as smartphones, social media, and the internet addictive by their very nature, but they’re also specifically engineered to take advantage of human vulnerabilities and our hardwired basic needs.
02
The way a phone shows colours, the way images are animated, the scrolling of pages, the constant alerts and more are what companies use to get you addicted to your device. This sensory overload keeps you hocked and always enslaved coming back for your next dose of content bombardment.
Researchers found that college students spend nearly nine hours daily on their phones, texting, gaming, scrolling through social media, etc. J Behav Addict. 2014 Dec; 3(4): 254–265. ▪ Obesity ▪ Eye problems, including eyestrain and dry eye ▪ Hearing damage ▪ Musculoskeletal symptoms ▪ Sleep Deprivation ▪ Injuries and accidents ▪ Anxiety and Depression ▪ Extreme Distraction
This is a simple yet effective means to freeing up time for yourself to do activities other than scrolling and typing on your phone. It contains a simple display and a touch screen slider to mimic the impulsive scroll addiction millions face as sort of a fidget spinner for smartphone users.
It greatly limits what you can do but keeps you connected allowing for freedom to talk personally with people at last. It has a built in AI with a personality of its own helping the user prefer using this over their phone. That inspiration is from Tamagotchi.

Design For Korea | Seat How do I Design a Seat for South Korea inspired by the Kimchi Dish?
South Korean design is usually simple and organic, similar to that of the simplicity of Swedish design and organic nature of Japanese design.
Social hierarchy is very important with certain colours and styles reflecting on class. The colour gold is used a lot for expensive furnishings and silver for lower cost.
Kimchi a staple in Korean cuisine, is a famous traditional side dish of salted and fermented vegetables, such as napa cabbage and Korean radish, made with a widely varying selection of seasonings.
03
Gold and silver do well to reflect what class of person your product is aimed at.
In South Korea, stools are used more commonly than sofas and chairs found in the west, especially when it comes to restaurants.
Kimchi has many layers to it, filled with flavour and style with the finished product looking warm, welcoming and well presented on a dark wooden surface.
Chopsticks are the most common utensil
I believe you cannot develop a product without first understanding the industry as so I contacted three South Korean designers as to experiment with designs, ideas and better understand the culture. The feedback was most useful and below are screenshots of exchanged dialogue.
Experimenting with shapes and layering in ideation. Came to the conclusion that a more organic shape that the drawing above would better suit the theme. 1. Stool chosen due to most popular choice in South Korea 2. Wood used as organic apparel is an important part of the culture and mimics the dark undertone of the Kimchi 3. Different tones in the wood represents layering of the Kimchi 4. Gold and silver variants to be sold to different social classes 5. Pointed legs spreading out represent chopsticks 6. Feet rest for additional comfort 7. Springs added to avoid permanent bend of the stool
Mobile Communication | Design for Future What Does the Future of Mobile Communication Look Like?

that uses UAVs to deliver shipments to
customers over the air. Similarly, China’s largest mailing company has already started its own experiments with a fleet of UAVs that could deliver around 500 parcels every day. The usage of UAVs for daily consumer-oriented services is expanding and becoming a reality.
Similar to concepts created for automated vehicles I propose a network of personal drones which record and broadcast segments of your life to the world. No more faffling with phones.

Video Games | Original Tank Design How Can I Make Combat Vehicle Games More Enjoyable and Original?
World of Tanks alone has 22 174 395 players registered on its game as of 10/06/2019 which goes to show how popular these types of games are.
The reason that so many people love esports is because the way in which video games are able to foster competition is more visceral than anything else in the world.
There is a loud segment of gamers who are getting upset with cut and paste formulas that are in essence overly similar to other games of a similar genre.
06
Turret moves separately from body so movement and aim can be controlled independently. It would be fun if this was not the case.
Tank tracks keep the vehicle steady for shooting making aim easier and fluid movement. I want to make this more challenging.
Tanks move slowly making for strategic slower gameplay which can be fun but I want to induce blood pumping speed an tension.
I love this idea of a single wheeled vehicle for the simple point of unless you are going at insane speed it is incredible impractical‌ which is just what I need.
Different loadouts, customisation and abilities can be attached for personalisation and competition.
The wheel revolves around the main body and due to their being only one wheel you must control balance, aiming and movement all at the same time.
This design is to increase difficulty by given an unstable platform of which to shoot from.
In tense moments when multiple vehicles are in close proximity the player must make a split decision to either try to retreat or bet they are the better player and take an accurate aim and shot before the opposition.
Gaming | Retro Console Is Retro Still in Fashion? Can Gaming Take a Note from the Past?
International video game revenue is estimated to be $81.5B in 2014. This is more than double the revenue of the international film industry in 2013. In 2015, it was estimated at US$91.5 billion. Gamers around the world will likely spend around $138 billion on games this year with a 13.3% increase per year.
Even in 2019 where PC’s can do almost any task, console gaming still holds strong with millions playing on them each year.
Nostalgia and appreciation for the classics have made the demand for old games bring a rise to emulator consoles and even official adapted releases of older consoles containing multiple games.
07
This was meant to be a separate DVD player that attached but was scrapped due to it being unnecessary and overcomplicated when the main body already takes disks. Looking at inspiration from past consoles and retro designs I created a concept for my own console and controller. Straying away from the conventional modern design I played more with the shape making way for a more unique shape. Main console made out of polished wood. I chose this over metal and plastic as it is easier to get an aged effect with wood over other materials. Controller takes prompts from modern day consoles but stripped back. This choice is due to older controllers generally being not as good in both ergonomics and button/analogue placement.
George “Nice design and definitely gives off a retro feel. If I could make a change I would remove the separate DVD player as it really isn’t needed and probably make it more squarish for easier manufacturing.”
Callum “Looks sick man. Just make sure you make sure you have the size right by doing a model or some CAD.”
Modelled the product to reflect feedback and test dimensions.
Improving Fitness | Weight Can The Long Lasting Traditional Way of Weight Training be Improved?
Research shows that a single set of 12 to 15 repetitions with the proper weight can build muscle efficiently in most people and can be as effective as three sets of the same exercise.
Weight training is all about pushing the limits of your body to gain mass. When you are comfortable at a specific weight you should move up to a heavier one.
Traditional weight training has a specified weight on two sides of a handle that can not be adjusted so lifters buy large sets for variety.
08
Dumbbell weight is spread even for optimum weight distribution.
Handle is cantered optimum weight distribution and ease of lifting as there is no rotation when lifted. The dumbbell grip is textured for maximum grip.
The handle is for carrying and is removable. Stand out unique design and colouring with adjustable mini weights to change the heaviness as you grow in strength meaning you need less dumbbells as one of these could serve as different measurements in weight.
Traditional design of a dumbbell usually consisting of a dull black and white colour scheme and no adjustability in terms of heaviness meaning you need to buy more.
