Steve robson
Stephen robson joined Greenwich printmakers in 2010. he went to goldsmiths college and has a background in teaching and working in photography. He is strongly drawn to work of ar7sts such as Samuel palmer, Edward hopper and Paul Nash. The Thames estuary and the coast of Norfolk and Suffolk have been favorite subjects. I have choose these images because I like the use of colour and tone used in the images. The images also use very simular techniques that I personally have used, for example, water colors, etching and prin7ng. Also I like the use of dull and simple effects by using water colors. In the pictures that have been chosen Steve robson is using many forms of print making. One of these is etching, etching is a great form of printmaking because it give you bold outlines and detail on which you can work and enhance from and the mark making created by the etching sets the mode for the picture . Steve robson also uses water colours to add a background in faint colors, to draw your aOen7on and make you focus on the colours used but also in enhances the more darker areas of the print.

Paul Nash The mark making with dark lines and detail links to steve robsons print making, in contrast with the light coloured foreground the dark lines creates a good effect
The use of black and white and different tones to create effect links to Steve robsons pictures.
Edward hopper The use of a large foreground links to steve robsons work. Also the angle the picture is done is also similar.
Diana cro2
Diana croQ is a painter and print maker who specializes in making hand-‐produced collographs in small edi7ons. The pictures are extremely coloured textured, usually using hand made papers. The prints all vary resul7ng in each piece being unique.
I like my chosen images because the use of colour stands out and is very eye catching, it creates a tranquil effect. It links up with my print making because I used coloured paper to create a similar kind of effect. Another reason I like my chosen images is because of the tone and heavy dark use of mark making, to out line and highlight objects in the picture. Diana croQ also uses different angles too create a large foreground, I have also used different angles in my work to create a large foreground. Dianna croQ uses hand made papers to add colour and tone, this is a technique that I also used in my printmaking. She also uses etching to create dark outlines and mark making. In the background of the pictures the colour is not as bright as at the front witch creates a feeling of distance in the picture. She also uses great colour balance from the white background and coloured paper
