Fees:
The District will use Infinite Campus to allow parents to pay summer school transportation fees. You are encouraged to pay fees online via a debit/credit card or e-check, no additional transaction fees will be applied. To begin, login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Refunds:
NO BUS REFUNDS are issued once the summer school session has begun. May 17, 2024 is the last day transportation changes can be made or canceled to be eligible to receive a refund.

Online Enrollment Instructions
• New Private Parochial Students to Summer School: In order to be eligible to register for summer school you must complete the online registration and upload requested verification documents by February 24, 2025.
• Returning Private and parochial students: If your child attended summer school in the district last year you will need to complete online enrollment in order to ensure we have the most up-to-date information on file. This needs to be completed by February 24. You do NOT need to provide residency verification or your child’s birth certificate.
• Course placement is by lottery, every student has the same priority in course placement. Your Summer School Schedule will be posted in your student’s Infinite Campus Account on or about April 8 at 12PM.
Due to the number of students enrolled in Summer School, students are strongly encouraged to use the district bus transportation. Students will board buses at their neighborhood school and be transported to summer school locations. At the end of the summer school day, students will be transported back. There is NO home-to-home service.
Bus transportation is not available for students attending only one or two periods a day. If your child receives free or reduced lunch at school, you are eligible for free tuition for bus transportation. You must notify the summer school office to have the waiver applied.

Please email the summer school coordinator at summerschool@elmbrookschools.org if you have more than 2 students. The system doesn’t automatically acknowledge the discount.
Buses will pick-up and drop-off students at each of the following buildings in the District: Swanson, Tonawanda, Pilgrim Park, Wisconsin Hills, and Brookfield Central.
• Bus schedules will be posted on the Summer School section of the website two weeks before the first day of classes.
• Notification will be sent to parents closer to the start of summer school
• Please do not park and leave your vehicle unattended in the drop-off area. This area is utilized for a quick curbside drop-off and pick-up only.
• All waiting vehicles will be asked to pull forward as other vehicles leave to relieve congestion.
• We ask parents who wish to escort their children in and out of school to please park in designated locations.
After School Care:
The West Suburban YMCA will be offering a 5-day Summer School Wrap Camp for K-8 grade at Burleigh Elementary School from 12:15-6:00 pm. To participate in the YMCA program, the student must be enrolled in a third period class. To register or for more information about this camp visit online at www.gwcymca.org. If your child is attending summer school at Brookfield East High School or Dixon Elementary and will use the YMCA Wrap Camp, you MUST sign up for busing and pay the $50 transportation fee per student. Please contact elmbrookwrapcamp@gwcymca.org with questions or for more information.
YMCA Wrap Camp Transportation: if your child will attend Dixon or BEHS and will need transportation to the YMCA Wrap Camp at Burleigh, you will need to select this during transportation signup. That option will look like the following: BUS OUT YMCA BUS OUT-BEHS to YCamp ONLY
Students With Individual Educational Plans (IEPs):
If you feel your child with a disability may need access to the accommodation provided to them during the school year in their IEP to participate in a summer school course, please contact your child’s case manager to set up an IEP meeting.

The focus of this course is to develop students as writers by having them engage with a variety of genres, which may include narrative, argumentative, and informational writing. on topics of their choosing. Specific instruction will focus on leads, organization, elaboration, craft techniques, conclusions, and basic conventions. Instruction will be provided in a workshop format including whole group, small group and individually in order to target individual student needs and interests.

This course is offered to anyone, grades 4-8, looking to study privately or in a small group on a band or a string instrument. Space is limited to 180 in Band and 45 in Strings. Summer band and orchestra lessons offer students a chance to improve performance on their instruments, review technique in the summer, and play exciting music that will appeal to their ability and personality. Summer lessons offer students a chance to receive small group professional instruction. Each student will be scheduled for four 30 minute sessions. It is strongly recommended that incoming 6th grade students who are first time band or orchestra members consider signing up for this opportunity.

This course offering is a strength, speed, and conditioning course geared toward the highly motivated student who wants to improve their strength, power, speed, endurance, agility, and flexibility through a five week summer training program. The goal of this class is to improve student’s athleticism off the field so they can reach their potential on the field. All students will participate in specially designed weight workouts, agility and conditioning programs that best fit their desire to improve. Students will get the tools needed to be successful Lancer/Spartan student athletes through the daily hard work, sweat, and effort in the fitness activities offered to them in the course, as well as developing the platform to live a healthy lifestyle.

This is an intensive program to build confidence and self-esteem while strengthening skills in acting, production and aspects of technical theater. Each student will be working with a creative production team and other students to rehearse and perform a full-scale play. No prerequisites are required - it is designed for students who want to expand their theater experience or want to explore if they have a passion for this type of venue. This session is designed for each student to learn many different aspects of theater and work within an ensemble and will conclude with 6 performances in the Brookfield Central Black Box with live ticketed audiences. This unique summer program affords the students the opportunity to experience different roles of “live” theater including: acting, rehearsals, set design and construction, lighting and sound, props, costuming, makeup and production and house support - allowing them to enhance or polish their theater knowledge and skills.
