LAUNCH is an exciting, new approach to education that connects a student’s academic knowledge to real-world business problems and projects. Beginning September 1, 2017, juniors and seniors from Brookfield Central and Brookfield East will have the opportunity to pursue courses taught by talented Elmbrook Educators and designed to foster teamwork, develop professional skills, inspire creativity and entrepreneurship, and explore career pathways.

As the District leadership team and course instructors prepare for the opening of Launch on September 1, 2017, it’s ultimate success depends upon the School District’s ability to establish partnerships that create opportunities and pathways for our students. Those individuals, foundations, small businesses, universities and large corporations who support Launch will serve as strong champions for our students and the region.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CHAMPIONS

PROJECT CHAMPIONS

Thirty (30) champions will provide projects for students to apply their coursework and leadership platform training to solve real-world business problems.

Fifty (50) professional training champions will offer classroom or on-the-job training to students or teachers on the Leadership Platforms; Project Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurism & Sales, Data Science and Teamwork.

Thirty (30) start-up champions will provide financial or in-kind support to ignite Launch in the areas of:

➤ Facility Lease: Estimated at $350,000 per year for 15,000 sq feet of learning space

➤ Facility Construction: Estimated at $300,000 in year one to create a space that inspires excellence through profession-based learning

➤ Furniture: $150,000 for flexible furniture that supports dynamic interactions and presentations

➤ Equipment: $50,000 for technology, security and the tools necessary to create and collaborate

Dr. Robert Hall began as the John and Margaret Moore Chair of Innovation and Executive Director of Launch on June 1, 2016, fifteen months before the start of Elmbrook’s new program. Dr. Hall received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Marian University and has experience as a Principal and Math Instructor. For the past seven years, Robert served as Principal of Catholic Memorial High School, where some of his accomplishments included increased student achievement, greater participation in college-level coursework, and raising over $2 million to support innovation and the creation of new learning spaces. Dr. Hall is passionate about providing opportunities for students in their preparation for college, career and life.

DESCRIPTION ➤

Students will engage in profession-based experiences in a dynamic, business-like setting. Business Analytics students pursue knowledge and develop skills in capturing and analyzing data to inform decision making. Students apply their learning through projects that require collaborative teams to solve problems and communicate results to business and industry partners.

Ms. Ordinans uses her 30 years of experience to inspire others to have a strong appreciation for education. She is most excited about bridging her AP Statistics classroom with professionals in the community.

Ms. Fisher has been inspired during her 7 years in Business Education by students’ pursuit of passions and growth in skills and expertise. She is thrilled at the opportunity for students to apply their business knowledge and to work with industry professionals.

Mr. Perez relishes the opportunities he has had in his 26 years as an educator to impact the lives of his students. He looks forward to a new frontier in education, particularly collaborating with talented teachers to inspire students to reach their full potential.

Mr. Kruse’s 16 years in Business Education have been focused on preparing students for life-long success. He is energized by students working on profession-based challenges and having mentors guide them in their work.

Mr. Bramschreiber enters his 5th year of teaching Social Studies with eyes on the future. He is excited about the real-world application of academic content his students will make by collaborating with each other and industry professionals.

Students apply their learning through projects that require collaborative teams to solve problems and communicate results to partners in K-12 and higher education.
