Welcome

to Elmhurst University!

As a transfer student, your goals and expectations are different from those you had as a freshman. You’re more experienced now, ready to move toward the finish line of your college experience. At Elmhurst, you’ll find a new world of opportunity: programs that suit your specific needs, people with your best interests at heart, and and a University with a growing reputation for excellence. For instance, U.S. News & World Report ranks Elmhurst in the top regional universities in the Midwest—and among the best values in the region, too. The Princeton Review also lists Elmhurst among the best in the Midwest, citing our “great financial aid” and “endless opportunities.” Forbes magazine’s rankings, which measure alumni success, put us among the top 15 in Illinois. On our campus, you’ll become part of an open, welcoming community that includes students from every ethnic, racial, and religious background and from many states and countries. You won’t feel like a newcomer for long. And you’ll get to know plenty of transfer students with experiences a lot like yours. One in three of our students come to us from another college or university. We understand your particular concerns and needs, and we’re deeply committed to your success. Our admission counselors are determined to get to know you as an individual, and to make the transfer process smooth sailing. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with a counselor to ask questions, evaluate your transcripts, and develop a clear road map toward your Elmhurst degree. We look forward to seeing you soon!

MICHAEL DAMRON Major Nursing Clubs/Organizations Student Nurses’ Association (president), Habitat for Humanity (site leader), Golden Crew, Alpha Phi Omega Transferred From College of DuPage Elmhurst Experience The transfer process for me was very easy. Most of my credits and classes were transferable, which helped me complete my prerequisites and allowed me to focus on my nursing courses. The most important lesson I have learned as a transfer student is to get involved and start building relationships right off the bat. There are so many different clubs, sports and organizations, and getting involved makes your transfer experience both smooth and memorable.

MADDIE ACKERMAN Major Elementary Education Transferred From Triton College Elmhurst Experience I chose Elmhurst University because no other school I visited had as much as an impact as it did on me. I knew I wanted a small school, and an environment that felt like home and as soon as I stepped foot on Elmhurst’s campus, I just knew it felt right, and it would be my home for the next two years. Elmhurst opened up so many doors for me, and it brought me to meet my best friends who I could never imagine my life without now.

The process of transferring was really simple and the advisors and counselors help every step of the way. Now that I’m here, my favorite part of Elmhurst is the passion from my professors.
