The New Educational Visits Guide 2012 There’s never been a better time to advertise!

Here at Elmtree Press, our team has been very busy over the past few months developing the Educational Visits Guide for 2012 and creating an exciting new website www.educationalvisitsuk.com to help teachers and group leaders plan their trips. With over 21 years experience in the schools market, we understand that many group organisers have limited time to search for information, so our mission is to make Educational Visits UK THE place to come to find all the details needed to plan a trip. With this in mind we have introduced a new section for group accommodation both within the guide itself and on our website. The Guide.... We continue to work in conjunction with local education authorities throughout the country ensuring our guides find their way to every school in England and Wales including the independent sector and numerous youth group organisers. An unrivalled distribution service you’re unlikely to get anywhere else. Despite the increase in print and distribution prices this year we are pleased to say that our prices remain extremely competitive so whatever your budget, advertising with us can help you promote yourself to this very important market. The Website....We now have additional facilities online where group leaders can leave reviews of places they’ve visited helping others to plan their trips. Additionally there are new options for promoting your attraction including banner adverts; featuring as an attraction of the month on our home page or using our services to specifically target teachers and group leaders regarding a special event or educational workshop. Throughout 2012 we will be running competitions and targeting teachers through social media to help promote the website, events and places to visit or stay which will in turn help boost our site in search engines.

Benefits of advertising with Educational Visits UK: ■ A Well Established and Trusted Guide – we distribute 37,000 free of charge copies to schools, youth groups and scouting & guiding groups throughout the UK. ■ Ranked No. 1 on Google – search for Educational Visits and our site is the 1st unsponsored entry. ■ Newsletters – We keep our users updated with termly newsletters, so why not promote your business further and feature in one of our articles? ■ Events – Anything exciting coming up? Promote your events free throughout the year on our website. ■ Reviews – Add reviews from schools and groups who have visited you. This will not only help you attract more visitors to your website but help boost you in the search engines. ■ New for 2012 – We are offering a new service to save you valuable time and money – let us collect reviews from your school visits for honest, independent feedback to help you improve your business. I have enclosed a copy of the 2011 guide; to see the new designs for 2012 please go to http://issuu.com/elmtree/docs/educationalvisits2012 If you have any queries or want to discuss your requirements with a member of our team then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Kind Regards

individual Accommodation Entry Page has an Attraction Tab which lists attractions near to their accommodation. ■ There is a picture gallery for every web entry which can take up to 8 pictures ‘every picture tells a thousand words’ ■ Browsers can leave reviews for every attraction and accommodation that they have visited – a very useful tool for group leaders when planning their trip. ■ Our website is continually updated, ensuring that any changes – events, news about what is happening at attractions or accommodation around the country, changes to opening times or special offers are immediately added to the site. ■ Browsers can follow us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook – providing an ideal communication medium for information and events.

2. www.educationalvisitsuk.com

Over the years this guide has evolved into the format you see before you, both in physical size and in the way the information is contained within. We’ve split the country into 5 regions geographically, and each of those regions has its own section of the guide (distinguished by a range of colours). In each you’ll find a map showing the locations of the various attractions, all of which are assigned a number, and then in the pages that follow listed under that number there’s loads of information, pictures and contact details for each one!

Our recently updated website has a clear, attractive modern format. The search facility makes it simple and easy to find attractions by name, region, type of attraction or by key words featured in the entry, such as the subjects covered. Accommodations can be found by area or name and are also listed on each Attraction tab.

This structure is great, because if you’re planning to visit more than one place, then you can see at a glance what other attractions are nearby. The maps are also handy for those struggling for ideas of where to take a trip, but if you already know the name of the place you’re looking to visit you can use the alphabetical index at the back of the guide to find it. The index shows what subjects are covered by each attraction through the use of a simple set of symbols.

www.educationalvisitsuk.com

use this to promote events or to write informative articles. See overleaf for more details.

Every attraction and accommodation featured in print is online, with direct links to their websites for further information. One of the main advantages that the website provides is that it’s continually updated throughout the year. This ensures that if there are any alterations or changes to opening times or entrance fees for instance, then the attractions can amend their details on the website immediately to reflect the changes. They also have the ability to list upcoming events and special offers for each month using the What’s On facility so it’s worth checking

Accommodation Yorkshire & North East England Planning a group trip away but stuck for places to stay? This year we’ve decided to make it easier for you to organise your visit by introducing a new accommodation section to the Educational Visits Guide and website. Now you can choose which attraction you want to visit and browse the best accommodation that’s close by. It’s just that simple! To take the hassle out of searching for accommodation online, we’ve selected the very best places for groups to stay in a number of locations across Britain. Explore the abundant wildlife of the Welsh coastline and stay in the Farmhouse Field Centre on Flat Holm Island, or get inspired at the Bronte Parsonage Museum and stay at Currer Laith Farm nearby. Whatever trip you’re planning, we’ve got the perfect accommodation for you.

Location Like the attractions, accommodation is sorted into geographical sections so you can see where you want to visit and simply click or flick to the accommodation in that area.

Newly refurbished accommodation, in house catering, additional facilities & grounds, possibility of curriculum based activities tailor made to your group. Close to country and coast and the iconic White Cliffs of Dover as well as Dover, Deal and Walmer Castle and Canterbury. Only a short drive from Dover with easy access to the Continent. Learning through experiencing the outdoors – through awakening all five senses – can provide a child with a profound and fun-filled experience.

Coldblow Farm is believed to have been named during Saxon times. It is situated 600 feet above sea level on top of the Kent Downs in the South East of England in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Although the farm is situated in the Heart of Kent we are still only an hour’s drive from London and if you are thinking of visiting the 2012 Olympic and venues east London is an easy drive from here.

Reviewed Previous visitors can now leave reviews on the accommodation they stayed in so you can make an informed choice about where to stay.

Photo Gallery To get a better idea of the accommodation provided we’ve included a photo gallery of each place so you can see which ones are suitable for you.

Attractions Found the perfect place to stay, but want to know what’s going on in that area? We’ve included a tab so you can browse the attractions close to your chosen accommodation.
