eginning Wednesday, all outdoor dining will be shut down in Los Angeles County to stop the spread of Coronavirus. This announcement follows the 10 PM to 6 AM curfew implemented on businesses last Friday night. Drive-thru, takeout, and delivery services will still be operational. Further restrictions will be enforced if the five-day average infection rate is sill above 4,000. Health Officials announced a three week “safer at home order” will be brought back into effect if the number grows above 4,500 or if hospitals become overrun. Many businesses have

suffered as an effect of this year’s earlier shut down and many more are not expected to survive this one. Outdoor dining barley kept most small businesses afloat and has put a strain on employees who work fewer hours. The public announcements were met with resistance. A large, mostly maskless, group protested the curfew and shutdown orders in Huntington Beach Saturday. Another protest in Fresno demanded Governor Gavin Newsom to open California. Not all cities are onboard with the restrictions either. Pasadena and Long Beach have their own departments and are currently debating whether to follow along the rest of the County.

Restaurants have setup outdoor dining using tents as a way to keep their business running.
