arch 31, 2021 in Orange, CA., a planned shooting took place at an office complex. The gunman took the lives of four people, including a nine year old boy and left his mom in critical condition. After a shootout with the Orange County Police Department, the gunman is also in critical condition. Lorenzo Arce News Editor

ne Capitol Police officer was killed and another severely injured by a car that rammed through a barricade protecting the US Capitol building on April 2. The driver was shot and killed after he ran towards officers wielding a knife. The attack occurred at 1 a.m. at a police checkpoint on Constitution Avenue, 100 yards away from the senate and staff entrance to the Capitol. A press conference was taking place as the incident happened and the Capitol was put on lockdown, which has since been lifted. National guard, Capitol Police, and Park Police flooded the scene and set up a perimeter in case of another attack. Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, 44, was the gunman that carried out this massacre. When he arrived at the office complex, he locked the gates with bicycle cables. After reports of shooting, the police department arrived at 5:30 p.m, broke through the gates, saw two victims in the courtyard, and encountered Gonzalez. Gonzalez was shot when he ran into the police and is currently in critical condition.
The way the shooting was carried out and the victims that were involved have the police thinking it was planned but the investigation is still going. Gonzalez is currently charged with four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of attempted murder of a police officer. He is also charged with four felonies of personal discharge of firearm causing death, premeditation, personal use of firearm, and

The victims include Matthew Farias, 9, his older sister Genevieve Raygoza, 28, Genevieve’s father and owner of the complex Luis Tovar Sr., 50, and employee Leticia Solis Guzman, 58. The survivor of the shooting is Blanca Ismeralda Tamayo, the mother of Matthew and Gene-
vieve. She was found in critical condition covering her son when the police arrived. Even though the complex is closed off, family, friends and residents come by and pay their respects. GoFundMe accounts have been made for each one of the victims to help their families.
Nation’s Capitol on Edge After Car Crashes into Two Officers; Killing One ginia. According to Wolf Blitzer of CNN, Green was delusional and claimed to be targeted by the government. Green posted on social media he recently left his job due to “afflictions” and his “enlightenment” from the Nation of Islam’s leader, Louis Farrakhan. Officer William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran of the force, was pronounced dead three hours after the incident took place. The other officer’s identity has not been revealed. Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman said, “He began his USCP service on March 7, 2003, and was a member of the Capitol Division’s First Responder’s Unit. prayers.” Evans is the fourth police officer in Washington D.C. to die since the Capitol was stormed on Jan. 6 this year. Brian D. Sicknick collapsed inside the Capitol Police station hours after being pepper sprayed and beaten while defending the Capitol. Two other officers, Jeffrey Smith and Howard Leibengood, committed suicide days later. National guard members have been posted at the Capitol since the riot and barricades have just begun to be taken down around the building after being up for three months. This incident will surely keep the Capitol on edge.

Noah Green, the man who rammed into the Capitol Officers, recently lost his job. He said on social media the US government is the worst enemy to black people in America and believed he was being harassed by the CIA and FBI.
