EL PASO COUNTY FAIR
HISTORY AND PURPOSE
Commissioners, Fair Advisory Board, Fairgrounds Corporation, CSU Extension Advisory Committee, County staff, and many dedicated volunteers.
Occupying more than 50 acres in eastern El Paso County, the Fair has lived in Calhan, Colorado, since 1905. What initially started as a potato festival became an annual community celebration featuring 4-H and FFA youth projects, nightly entertainment, and specialty events.
The Fair aims to provide various activities that celebrate El Paso County's history, culture, and heritage. 2025 will mark the 120th Fair honoring the County's rich history and traditions, welcoming a new generation of fairgoers, and providing educational and entertainment opportunities to visitors of all ages.
A NEW GENERATION OF FAIR
EXPERIENCING THE EL PASO COUNTY FAIR LIKE NEVER BEFORE
The annual El Paso County Fair, the most significant event at the Fair & Event Center, proudly celebrates the County's rich western and agricultural heritage. In 2024, we aimed to continue this tradition with the theme "It's Epic Out Here."
2025 will build on the foundation of tradition and history as we highlight each era of our “Spudtacular Journey”. Highlighted throughout the Fairgrounds will be educational feature boards for visitors to learn and explore the rich agricultural heritage and history of El Paso County.
In collaboration with Colorado State University Extension, 4-H, Future Farmers of America (FFA), and El Paso County Nature Centers, visitors can engage in virtual prompted knowledge quests and participate in a variety of hands on demonstrations and learning presentations.
Visitors will also find more engagement experiences including the daily Fair Zone featuring a petting zoo and our mascots Kyle & Farley, as well as daily contests and activities throughout the grounds.
YEAR ROUND EVENT CENTER
Our goals are simple: to be the central hub of eastern El Paso County, uniting the community through year-round events, collaborative partnerships, and essential resources that inspire engagement, celebration, and growth.
We are dedicated to extending beyond the annual County Fair, providing community activities, event spaces for private occasions, public gatherings, and the home of the Community Outreach Center.
By cultivating partnerships with local businesses, services, schools, civic organizations, and youth programs, we aim to create a dynamic hub that addresses community needs and contributes to the economic and social vitality of eastern El Paso County.

The El Paso County Fair is a financially selfsustaining week-long event held annually in July. Through generous partnerships with regional businesses and individuals, the El Paso County Fair has been able to thrive independently and continue serving the growing community.
The El Paso County Fair continues to grow and evolve to meet rising expectations and deliver exceptional experiences for our community. As we look forward, we recognize the opportunity to further enrich our events by offering expanded partnership tiers, allowing more sponsors to join us in crafting memorable moments for our guests.
