ABOUT THE ROLE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - JUSTICE SERVICES The Executive Director of the El Paso County Justice Services Department is responsible for the management, administration, planning, and leadership of the Justice Services Department, to include Community Corrections, Pretrial Services, Criminal Justice Planning, Veteran Services, and Useful Public Service.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, criminal justice, or related field.

Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated managerial and administrative leadership experience; ten (10) years preferred.

Minimum five (5) years of justice services or related experience.

Extensive knowledge of resource planning, state and federal grant funding, principles and practices of budget preparation and administration required.

Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and other requirements governing public jurisdictions.

Ability to direct, organize, and coordinate the activities of others.

Skilled in cultural change management principles.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in verbal and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with Elected Officials, County Executive staff, community agencies, and the general public.

Proven skills in fundraising and grant procurement and management.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above.

Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen.
