As we embark on another month, it's been an incredible journey witnessing your dedication and perseverance through the existence of the Center for Strength. From the early stages of exploration to the profound moments of growth and healing, each of you has shown an unwavering commitment to your personal journey of resilience and recovery.

As April unfolds and the scent of renewal fills the air, I want to encourage you to take these final days to dive deeper into the resources, support, and connections offered by this program. Your journey towards resilience is not a solitary one, and together, we can continue to uplift and empower one another. Remember, it's never too late to take that first step towards a brighter, more resilient future.

Let's make these last days count, knowing that the seeds of resilience we plant today will blossom into a future filled with hope, strength, and unwavering perseverance.

Embarking on the journey to college marks a significant transition in a young person's life, filled with excitement, opportunities, and new challenges. As students prepare to navigate the complexities of higher education, prioritizing mental well-being becomes essential. Our mini-series, "Transitioning to College: A Four-Week Mental Health Preparation Series," offers incoming college students invaluable tools and insights to foster resilience, manage stress, and thrive in their academic pursuits.

Join us on April 26th for our Annual and FINAL Super Smash Bros Tournament! We will be hosting two brackets - one for Graduates/High school, and one for Elementary/Middle school. There will be pizza and drinks provided. Prizes for the top players of graduates/hs, middle, and elementary. Sign up below - slots are limited!

Resiliency and Grounding through Exercise. Facilitated by Devon Edwards, LPCC, MA The “Inside Out” group is an expressive arts group to help support emotional and social skills in children 3rd-6th grade.

NOT A DROP OFF PROGRAM. ENROLLMENT ONLY.

*All parents must provide a signed PARENT AGREEMENT FORM before participating.

S.O.L.A.C.E.: Spaces Of Love & Connection with Equity, a safe and inclusive youth support group. The group will provide a safe, brave space to dive into/discuss the multi-layered aspects of intersecting identities and how they interact with being a gun violence survivor.

Facilitated by: James Nee LCSW (he/they). Drop-ins welcome.

You do not need to sign up if you don’t feel comfortable, but please register for this group when you sign in at the Center.

Current STEM student Sean M. will facilitate this peer-led gardening group and be co-facilitate by Tammy Horlacher, our Activities Coordinator. You will learn how to grow spider plants and explore the parallels in caring for plants and yourself through science and art.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

This is a gentle and therapeutic practice that focuses on deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Participants engage in a series of supported poses, using various props like blankets, blocks, & bolsters to promote rest and release of tension, while allowing the body to open gradually and unwind.

Join us for this new class incorporating chair yoga and breathwork with Alaina Patton for ages 16 and up. This can be a great option for everyday life scenarios - yoga at the airport, yoga at work, yoga in the classroompeople with limitations, such as an injury or illness.

The adult group will be centered on recharging, empathy, community, openness, understanding, and purpose.

This is an open group format (participants may attend any week without committing to the series).

Open to parents/caregivers/guardians of children of any age/grade.

You do not have to have a child signed up in the youth skills group. If you do, your child will be ready to leave at 4:00p.

Our activities coordinator Tammy has added an afternoon Open Art Studio series to our Spring schedule. Join her as she guides you through a different art activity every other week to benefit overall wellness and community!

This program is open to all age groups and we encourage families to join together. *Children 11yrs and younger must be accompanied by an adult or older responsible sibling. This is not a drop-off event.
