La Asociación de Comerciantes Dominicanos de Pennsylvania anunció oficialmente esta semana el endiosamiento de la Concejal Maria Quiñónez Sánchez para su reelección de un nuevo periodo en la administración del extenso Distrito 7. El anuncio del respaldo de los comerciantes a la autoridad municipal se produjo el pasado domingo primero de mayo en un concurrido acto proselitista celebrado en la discoteca “5 Iris” situada en la calle 5 e Irie al norte de Filadelfia. En el evento al que asistieron más de 90 comerciantes y pequeños empresarios pertenecientes a la Asociación, se recolectaron recursos económicos y entregados a la concejal para ayuda financiera de su campaña electoral. La directiva en pleno y decenas de miembros de la Asociación de Comerciantes Dominicanos de Pennsylvania estuvieron respaldando la importante actividad al entender que la Concejal Quiñónez Sánchez es la única persona que representa a la comunidad hispana en la Ciudad. En la reunión de apoyo fue notable la presencia del Reverendo Miguel Martínez, Presidente de la institución empresarial, así como Daniel Torres, Julio Pérez, Victoriano de la Cruz, Rafael Francisco, Santiago Bravo, Bienvenida Jiménez, José Bautista, Manuel Jaquez, Franklyn Muñoz, Juan Peña, Eva Francisco, entre muchos otros. María dijo que para ella es sumamente

importante que los pequeños comerciantes tan necesarios en los vecindarios se sientan motivados para apoyarla, tanto con su voz como con su aportación económica. Manifestó que los comerciantes hispanos entienden la necesidad de mantener su candidatura viva y trabajando en el consejo municipal. “Necesito que la gente salga a votar en mayo 17- dijo María-. Y espero que se sientan tan motivados como están los comerciantes y demás sectores empresariales de la comunidad filadelfiana que tienen la confianza en que yo no lo defraudaré”. Miguel Martínez declaró que respaldan la reelección de la concejal hispana debido a que es la única voz latina que tenemos en la ciudad y estimó que la comunidad hispana no se puede bajo ningún concepto perder el escaño en la ciudad. Martínez hizo un ferviente llamado a los comerciantes y no comerciantes hispanos que tengan la facultada para votar para que el 17 de mayo se levanten temprano a emitir su voto por la concejal María Quiñónez Sánchez. Informó que la entidad comercial tiene alrededor de 700 afiliados y actualmente están inmersos en un proceso de reinscripción con el cual aspiran llegar a 1,500 comerciantes en los próximos 5 meses. “María es la única representación latina que tenemos en la ciudad. Esta señora es la opción porque en nosotros nadie conoce tanto nuestra trayectoria, no conocen nuestro idioma, no conocen nuestros barrios como

María”, señaló Bienvenida Jiménez, Directora de Educación de la organización empresarial. “Quien más que María puede conocer la temática del comerciante que día a día lucha en nuestros barrios, con nuestras barreras como el idioma, cuando nosotros vamos a una oficina que una persona no nos entiende, como nos vamos a comunicar con alguien que no habla nuestro idioma, que no camina por nuestros vecindarios, entonces, realmente María Quiñónez Sánchez es la única opción”, recalcó Jiménez. “La actual incumbente es la única voz hispana trabajadora que poseemos en la ciudad- indico Rafael Francisco-, y nosotros no estamos inventando porque son los hechos y el esfuerzo de ella que nos han demostrado que María es la persona que necesitamos en este distrito 7”. “La necesitamos porque trabaja, no necesitamos a Maria para que nos sirva de lujo en la ciudad sino porque trabaja y lo ha demostrado con hechos fehacientes”, dijo Francisco. “Si perdemos a Maria-subrayó Julio Pérez-, pues estaremos fracasados porque no vamos a tener otra persona con la capacidad de ella”. “Ella ha demostrado que verdaderamente nos apoya. Autoestima, identidad y aprendizaje POR: LUISA FERNANDA MONTERO He visto por años como los padres hispanos no sólo se esfuerzan si no que se sacrifican por darles a sus hijos una buena educación. Muchos trabajan incansablemente para darles la oportunidad de educarse, por eso, estoy segura de que el éxito académico de niños y jóvenes es una prioridad que compartimos como comunidad. La educación, sin embargo no tiene que ver sólo con la escuela y las calificaciones, tiene que ver también con lo que somos como personas, como individuos, como miembros de una familia con historia. Por eso para empezar, debemos transmitirles a nuestros hijos el orgullo de ser lo que son, de venir de donde vienen, de ser hispanos. En la medida en que los niños valoren su origen, su raza y su cultura construirán una identidad y una autoestima que los acompañará el resto de su vida y los ayudará a construir su propio éxito. “La recomendación más importante es que los padres se sientan orgullosos de lo que son, que transmitan – a sus hijos - el gusto por sus tradiciones y su cultura a través de sus conversaciones sobre ellos mismos, sobre sus familias, sobre el lugar de donde vienen y porque se sienten orgullosos de ser de mexicanos, guatemaltecos o salvadoreños y de sus valores”, señala Antonia López, especialista en educación del Consejo Nacional de la Raza. López, insiste en la importancia de que los niños hijos de inmigrantes hispanos, además, se sientan orgullosos del idioma de sus padres, que lo practiquen y lo estudien. “El idioma es muy importante para que los padres puedan seguir siendo los consejeros de sus hijos y puedan acompañarlos a la hora de tomar decisiones importantes”, agrega López anotando que si los padres pierden la habilidad de comunicarse con sus hijos, los niños van a “quedarse solos, se van a educar solos y van a recibir consejos de otras personas en vez de recibirlos de sus padres”. Y es que el idioma natal, de no practicarse puede perderse en un año, señala la experta recordando que cada momento en el que los padres y la familia en general tienen contacto con el niño, lo están educando; con cada gesto, con cada palabra, el padre tiene la oportunidad de transmitirle a su hijo una lección y de dejarle ver que es importante, que es querido y que es parte fundamental de la familia. Las sencillas actividades del hogar, como la preparación de alimentos, la limpieza o el baño diarios son oportunidades de aprendizaje para los niños pequeños; en la cocina por ejemplo, si estamos preparando una ensalada, podemos irle enseñando al pequeño las diferencias entre las verduras, los distintos colores y texturas y la importancia de alimentarse sanamente. Compartir con nuestros hijos los cuentos y las canciones o versos que aprendimos de pequeños, la historia de nuestros padres, de nuestros abuelos, de nuestra familia los ayudará a construir su autoestima y les dará confianza en si mismos. Un niño sano emocionalmente, que recibe el cuidado y la atención que necesita en casa, tendrá una autoestima en la que podrá apoyarse para seguir aprendiendo.

Primera distinción nacional Por atención médica multicultural otorgada a Health Partners de Philadelphia Health Partners anunció que es el primer plan médico a nivel nacional que recibe la nueva “Distinción por atención médica multicultural” del Comité Nacional de Garantía de Calidad (NCQA por sus siglas en inglés), la fuente independiente más confiable a nivel nacional que acredita la calidad de la atención médica. El NCQA entregará oficialmente el premio a Health Partners como reconocimiento a esta importante distinción durante una ceremonia especial en su sede central en Philadelphia. “Brindar servicios de atención médica culturalmente competentes juega un rol principal para garantizar los mejores resultados de salud posibles para diversas poblaciones,” comentó la oradora invitada, Dra. Marla Gold, Decana de la Escuela de Salud Pública de la Universidad de Drexel (Drexel School of Public Health). “Esta distinción ilustra la importancia que Health Partners les otorga a sus diversos miembros y a su estado de salud”. “Nos sentimos honrados por el reconocimiento del NCQA por nuestro alcance multicultural y esfuerzos para reducir las disparidades de atención médica en la región del área metropolitana de Philadelphia”, comentó el Presidente y Director Ejecutivo de Health Partners, William S. Civic Leaders Go On The Offensive for Philadelphia Latino Voting Rights In an unprecedented move, LatinoLines, a coalition of Latino leaders, was formed in Philadelphia to bring public attention to the civil rights of Latinos and demand justice and a fair redistricting process that remedies decades of what we believe has been a long history of voting rights violations. For too long, the Latino community has been gerrymandered, diluting its voting strength and in many instances, eroding its viability as a community of interest. Ultimately the existing redistricting legislation, at both the local and state level, has seriously impeded the rights of the Latino community to freely elect a member of their choice. As the current legislative process on redistricting develops, brought about by the release of the 2010 census numbers, the LatinoLines Coalition is demanding that Latinos finally have the representation in this century that they did not have in the last. We all know Philadelphia helped form this nation with the battle cry ‘No taxation without representation.” The city of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall can no longer be the city that does not allow sectors of its citizens fair and equitable representation at the ballot box and seats of governmental power. The old voting district lines have been played with, gerrymandered, fixed and toyed with – all to benefit private interests and politicians. Today we are announcing that LatinoLines will seek and propose to the appropriate legislative bodies, plans for the creation of at least two (2) Latino majority State House Districts and one (1) Latino-majority City Council District within Philadelphia County. The latest 2010 census numbers show an impressive growth in the Latino community, particularly in the 7th councilmanic district, the 180th and 179th state house districts. For years, voting districts in Latino neighborhoods have been “fractured” or “packed” to benefit politicians and political parties. Now, LatinoLines is demanding that the new lines be drawn to benefit and reflect the viable and growing Latino communities in our city with the ultimate goal of bolstering this community’s political voice to take its natural course among the leadership of the City of Philadelphia. To remedy this longstanding civil rights violation, LatinoLines has joined forces with Latino Justice, a national legal defense fund and educational advocacy group. LatinoLines co-founder Angel Ortiz said, “We hope to avoid the conflict and discussions that took place ten years ago which ended up with us having the most gerrymandered district in recent memory. We hope that Philadelphia’s city council and mayor have the understanding that the same Hispanic community that made Philadelphia grow and prosper - will no longer be kept on the back burner in terms of political representation.” John Garcia, Director of Communications for Latino Justice in New York City, New York noted, “The Latino community in Philadelphia has grown enough that it is due for fair and equitable representation in elected offices. The 2010 census demonstrates that the population numbers clearly and unequivocally exist

to justify the creation of Latino majority districts.” Latino Lines is an expanding coalition of Latino leaders from across the city and commonwealth, including Lancaster, Reading and Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Obama on Immigration

La reacción al discurso de Barack Obama sobre el tema de inmigración no ha sido positiva en la prensa hispana o entre líderes latinos. El Presidente fue a El Paso para entregar su mensaje en cuanto a la necesidad de reformar las leyes de inmigración. Yendo a Tejas, un estado donde la población latina votó para George Bush en el pasado, Obama buscaba atraer más hispanos al Partido demócrata. Los tejanos están poco entusiasmados con el partido que prometió reforma en la última elección pero no cumplió. Obama buscará la reelección en 2012 y el voto hispano jugará un papel muy importante en esa elección. Ronald Reagan recibió cerca del 35 por ciento del voto latino en1984. George W. Bush recibió cerca del 37 por ciento del voto en su última elección, pero el Partido Republicano ha perdido terreno desde entonces, y ningún candidato del GOP podrá U.S. President Barack Obama ganar una elección nacional sin el apoyo del greets supporters after delivering voto hispano. Un gran fracaso de la administración de Obama, aún cuando el Partido demócrata tuvo el control de Congreso, fue la incapacidad de pasar legislación con respecto a la ley DREAM Act. El presidente había prometido a los líderes hispanos que ganaría aprobación de esa legislación. Pero las guerras y la necesidad de concentrar sus esfuerzos en resolver la crisis económica requirió de toda su atención. El Partido Republicano no aprobará esa ley y bloqueará cualquier tentativa de reformar las leyes de inmigración. El Partido Republicano parece no tener interés en ganar otra elección nacional. En este momento ellos parecen contentarse con jugar el papel de obstruccionistas. Ningún candidato republicano puede ganar la Casa Blanca. Barack Obama tiene suerte de que el Partido Republicano ha decidido alienar el voto hispano. Los latinoamericanos quizás le den el voto a pesar de su desilusión porque el Partido Republicano ha perdido su apoyo. Los críticos del discurso de Obama dicen que habló bien pero ahora debe mostrar que él no hace promesas vacías. El quizás no controle el Congreso pero todavía puede ejercer presión, él puede hacer tratos, puede influir sobre la legislación y él puede bloquear, como mínimo, medidas draconianas de inmigración que destruyen familias. Su administración podría parar las leyes que deportan a hombres y a mujeres que contribuyen a nuestra economía y nunca reciben ni un centavo del seguro social. El no puede dar por sentado el voto latino, que no queriendo votar para un candidato del Partido Republicano, quizás se quede en casa en la próxima elección.

Reaction to Barack Obama’s speech on immigration has not been all positive in the Hispanic press or among Latino leaders. The President went to El Paso to deliver his message that we need to reform immigration. By going to Texas, a state where the Latino population voted for George Bush in the past, Obama intended to bring more Hispanic voters into the Democratic Party. Texans are lukewarm towards the party that promised reform in the last election but did not deliver. Obama will be running for reelection in 2012 and the Hispanic vote will play a very important role in that election. Ronald Reagan had received about 35 percent of the Latino vote in1984. George W. Bush received about 37 percent of the vote in his last election, but the GOP has lost ground since then, and no GOP candidate will be able to win a national election without the support of Hispanic voters. In the last election in 2008 McCain received 5 percent fewer votes than Bush. Obama won in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada in large part because the Latinos voted for him in 2008. But the promises to reform immigration and approve legislation laws that were less hostile to immigrants never came. With the GOP in control of the House after the midterm elections in 2010, there is even less likelihood of reforming immigration laws. Harsh deportation policies have affected many Latino families. Obama has taken credit for increasing the number of criminals that this country has deported during his tenure by about 70 percent. But many times the only crime that some of those men and women have committed is to be undocumented. We end up with broken families who will be even more needy because the bread-winner is deported. Most of the time they do not represent any kind of threat to society, but they get caught in immigration raids at their place of work. One great failure of the Obama administration, even when the Democratic Party had control of Congress was the inability to pass legislation concerning the DREAM Act. The president had promised Hispanic leaders that he would gain approval of that legislation. But the wars and the need to concentrate his efforts on solving the economic crisis drew his attention away from the issue. The GOP will not pass that bill and will block any attempt to reform immigration. The GOP seems not to care about winning any national elections. At this point they seem happy to play the role of obstructionists. There is no way a Republican candidate can win the White House. Barack Obama is lucky that the GOP has decided to alienate the Hispanic vote. Latinos might give him the vote in spite of their disappointment because the GOP has lost their support. Critics of Obama’s speech are saying that he spoke nicely but now he needs to show that he is not making empty promises. He might not control Congress but he can still exert pressure on that body, he can make deals, he can influence legislation and he could at the very least block draconian immigration measures that are destroying families. His administration could stop enforcing laws that are deporting men and women who contribute to our economy and never collect a dime in social security. He cannot take for granted the vote of Latinos, who not wanting to vote for a GOP candidate, might just stay home in the next election.

Los exitosos toman decisiones rápidas

Fui de tiendas con una amiga. Mientras nos probábamos ropa me confesó: “Tengo un gran dilema, me están ofreciendo una gran oportunidad de empleo con otra empresa, pero estoy indecisa y no sé qué hacer”. Antes de dar mi opinión le dije: “¡eso hay que estudiarlo!, decide que blusa te llevas y entonces hablamos!”. Comparó dos camisas por más de 15 minutos pero no podía escoger ninguna. Le advertí: ¡si no puedes decidir entre dos blusas, se te hará imposible tomar la decisión de cambiar de empleo! Quizás a ti también se te hace difícil tomar decisiones, especialmente si es un asunto importante como: ¿Formalizo con este muchacho o busco un mejor prospecto?, ¿Regreso a la escuela ahora o más tarde?, ¿salgo embarazada o espero al próximo año?, ¿Compro casa o sigo rentando?, ¿Regreso a mi país natal o me quedo aquí?, ¿Dejo a mi esposo o espero a ver si cambia? Decisiones, decisiones ¡y mas decisiones! El escritor Napoleón Hill, quien ha vendido más de seis millones de copias de su libro “Piense y Hágase Rico”, asegura que una de las principales causas del fracaso es la indecisión. Las personas fracasadas se demoran una eternidad en tomar una decisión y finalmente cuando se deciden, inmediatamente cambian de opinión. Por el contrario, los individuos exitosos toman decisiones rápidas y si tuvieran que cambiarlas, no lo hacen fácilmente. Tomar decisiones es como aprender a correr en patines, mientras más practiques más hábil serás. Diariamente práctica tomando decisiones rápidas en aspectos que no son tan significativos. Por ejemplo, cuando tengas que escoger entre pasta o arroz, no tardes más de cinco segundos en decidir. Esto te ayudará a tomar decisiones significativas con más facilidad. También pon una fecha límite para cada decisión importante que tengas que tomar, así te veras obligado a no posponer. Recuerda que en muchas ocasiones, no tomar una decisión es lo mismo que tomar una mala decisión porque puedes dejar ir una gran oportunidad. Te aconsejo que hoy mismo enumeres todos los beneficios que obtendrás si tomas esa decisión. Luego lee esta lista y si te da un sentimiento de satisfacción en el corazón, ¡confía en ti y acaba de decidirte!

Uso de los antibióticos Controlan y eliminar los focos de infección en el organismo Los antibióticos son el nuevo avance de la farmacoterapia para controlar y eliminar los focos de infección en el organismo y cuyos resultados han de ser favorables para el paciente. Se los usa para la profilaxis y el tratamiento mismo de las infecciones. Su uso significa experiencia clínica, para elegir el antibiótico, con un diagnóstico definido, ya que es preciso apuntar bien para eliminar las bacterias y en otros casos eliminar todo lo que se pueda quimioterápicamente. Se utiliza en casos determinados los antibióticos de amplio espectro para actuar sobre bacterias gram positivas, gram negativas, aerobios y anaerobios. Estos microorganismos especificados son: cocos, estafilococos, estreptococos llamados gram positivos y gram negativos como el gonococo y aerobio y la veillonella o anaerobio. También mencionamos los esporulados y no esporulados y las espiroquetas. No siempre se puede eliminar las bacterias causantes, porque existen casos de resistencia a los antibióticos y no darse la acción bactericida o bacteriostática con detención de la multiplicación, por lo que es necesario hacer carácter perentorio un antibiograma a fin de utilizar el antibiótico específico y efectivo. El antibiograma es un examen de laboratorio, que en casos clínicos el odontólogo debe hacerlo, especialmente cuando hace el control microbiológico del conducto radicular del diente. Para ello se toma en un portobjeto el material del foco de infección, con precauciones de asepsia y una vez terminada la muestra, lo remite al laboratorio, donde se lo cultiva en medio sólido en cápsula de PETRI, colocándose sobre ella discos de papel impregnados con el antibiótico. Se encuba durante 24 a 48 horas en 33 grados centígrados, haciéndose después la lectura. Cuando el quimioterápico es efectivo, se forma un halo de inhibición alrededor del disco que lo contiene. El tamaño del halo indica la potencia del antibiótico. El uso clínico del antibiotico debe ser prescrito por el médico o el odontólogo, de acuerdo con el diagnóstico y tipo de paciente. Se descarta y se prohibe el uso indiscriminado de los antibióticos por automedicación por personas que usan antibióticos para cualquier lesión insignificante, así por ejemplo resfríos o gripes, que no tienen acción bactericida,

Para usar cualquier antibiótico se debe efectuar la historia clínica del paciente. Si hay sospecha de tener asma, alergia a la leche, queso o pescado, se debe tomar precauciones y para ello se efectúa las pruebas de CUTI e Intradermoreacción a fin de precaver accidentes alérgicos

ya que el cuadro clínico es debido a virus, donde los antibióticos no tienen efectividad. A todo ello llamamos empleo incorrecto e injustificado de los antibióticos, al ser prescritos para cualquier patología sin importancia. También censuramos que se use el antibiótico en dosis mínimas, que posteriormente provocan fenómenos de resistencia bacteriana al antibiótico. El odontólogo debe saber cuándo y en qué forma utilizar el antibiótico, que no puede ser de uso general, sino en casos clínicos específicos. No se puede prescribir antibióticos después de cada extracción dental, haya o no infección comprobada,

lo vemos como una costumbre fuera de lugar, por los riesgos que se provoca al paciente. La administración de antibióticos para Grandes Abcesos Agudos, en forma de comprimidos o cápsulas de 500 mg, es una pérdida de tiempo precioso para el paciente, porque no se va a poder controlar un gran foco de infección, ya que se pone en riesgo la vida del paciente y se compromete la defensa orgánica del enfermo. Es preciso atacar el proceso agudo con la administración de antibióticos en grandes cantidades o dosis de ataque y mantenimiento por vía instramuscular. EL SOL LATINO NEWSPAPER

El insomnio Las pastillas para dormir no son la solución El escritor británico Lawrence Sterne, decía refiriéndose al sueño: “¡Qué felicidad constituye para el hombre cuando las ansiedades y las pasiones se alejan ...!”. En 1900 Freud escribía su Interpretación de los sueños dando a este hecho normal una dimensión o un significado para el psicoanálisis, y también para algún fenómeno que puede ocurrir en relación no ya sólo con el sueño por sí mismo, sino con la ensoñación que ocurre frecuentemente mientras se duerme. El sueño es un fenómeno periódico, elemental e indispensable para todo el mundo animal, y, por ende, para el ser humano. Un hecho fisiológico y como tal tiene su patología como no podía ser de otra manera. La más frecuente es la imposibilidad de dormir, el insomnio, que puede ser producido por un trastorno intrínseco o por la dificultad de conciliar el sueño por alguna enfermedad psíquica o física. El insomnio es un trastorno frecuente, que afecta, en los países industrializados, a un 25 por ciento de la población y cuya repercusión social, económica y sanitaria es importante. El sueño constituye uno de los factores más importantes que contribuyen no sólo

al bienestar sino a la eficacia humana, no tanto en relación con la cantidad de horas dormidas como en lo que respecta a la profundidad del sueño. Es frecuente que las personas con trastornos del sueño exageren el número de horas de vigilia, sin olvidar que cuando no se puede conciliar el sueño, el tiempo pasa de forma muy lenta alargando de forma importante la noche, lo que contribuye a aumentar la ansiedad, que prolonga el insomnio, con lo que se cierra el círculo vicioso. El reposo que proporciona el sueño es evidentemente fisiológico, y como tal puede presentar anormalidades o irregularidades importantes que, por sus características generan una patología propia, adoptando formas que no serían parangonables a las que pueden darse durante la vigilia. Los terrores nocturnos y las pesadillas son frecuentes en niños y jóvenes, casi nadie se escapa de tenerlas y, cuando persisten en la edad adulta, posiblemente estarán relacionadas con alguna alteración psíquica. El sonambulismo es un fenómeno que ha despertado siempre una cierta curiosidad en el terreno de la fantasía, pero es un hecho

Radamel l Real Madrid podría estudiar la contratación del delantero colombiano del Oporto Radamel Falcao si finalmente no hace efectiva su opción de compra sobre el togolés Emmanuel Adebayor, publica hoy sábado la prensa lusa. l alemán Sebastian Vettel de Red Bull ha logrado la victoria en el Gran Premio de Turquía por delante de su compañero, el australiano Mark Webber y de Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), que por primera vez en la temporada sube al podio. s bien cierto que para muchos cinéfilos o expertos en el séptimo arte no es nada agradable que la industria de Hollywood utilice franquicias de películas como es el caso de The Fast and The Furious (película de acción estadounidense dedicada al mundo del automovilismo) que ya cuenta con una quinta secuela denominada Fast Five, pronto a estrenarse en cines y que nuevamente hace el uso de una gala de automóviles que quitan el aliento al momento de verlos correr. l constructor alemán Audi pretende coronarse por décima vez en la extenuante prueba, madre de las carreras de resistencia en el mundo, las 24 Horas de Le Mans, con su nuevo prototipo LMP1 denominado R18 TDI. Este nuevo bólido está construido siguiendo las nuevas reglas del ACO (Automobile Club de L´Ouest) Club organizador de la carrera, para está edición el reglamento era claro, los vehículos contendientes en la categoría estelar LMP1 deberían ser con siluetas (carrocerías) cerradas. Audi además de presentar un bello auto prototipo, creó una motorización exclusiva, un propulsor fabricado también con base en el nuevo reglamento de la carrera, que exige a los contendientes motorizaciones más pequeñas. En este caso Audi eligió un motor de seis cilindros en V con un desplazamiento de 3.7 litros y 540 hp, que se alimenta con diesel, combustible que el fabricante utiliza exitosamente en sus prototipos de carreras desde el 2006. En esta ocasión Audi sorprenderá a sus competidores con lo último de la investigación y desarrollo de la marca, y si bien no ha anunciado muchos detalles

capta el aire directamente a través de la toma montada en el techo. “De esta manera somos capaces de convertir la presión dinámica generada a altas velocidades con mínimas pérdidas de potencia”, explica el Dr. Martin Mühlmeier, Jefe de Tecnología de Audi Sport. El concepto de un solo turbo fue desarrollado en colaboración con Garrett y cuenta con la turbina de geometría variable (VTG) que ya se utiliza exitosamente en el R15 TDI. Audi Sport ha trabajado desde julio de 2009 en este nuevo concepto para sus nuevos motores. A fin de controlar las enormes presiones de encendido y carga, ahora sólo distribuidas entre seis cilindros, se ha desarrollado un método único de enfriamiento de las cabezas de aluminio, un concepto que también podría ser interesante en el futuro para la producción en masa. En un motor más compacto y menos voluminoso, el flujo de aire de los enfriadores ahora puede salir prácticamente sin ninguna restricción de la parte trasera. “Podríamos, con esto, aumentar la eficiencia aerodinámica del auto” dice Martin Mühlmeier, Jefe de Tecnología de Audi Sport.

urante el mes de abril de 2011 la Toyota Sienna fue la minivan más vendida en Estados Unidos con 37,060 unidades. La segunda minivan más cotizada es la Dodge Caravan con 36,721 vehículos

vendidos, esto es sólo 339 unidades por debajo de la Sienna. En tercer lugar tenemos a la Honda Odyssey con 36,306 camionetas vendidas, una diferencia también muy estrecha con la Caravan. Por otra parte lo que suena sorprendente

en estos resultados de abril, es que el año pasado la minivan número en ventas fue la Chrysler Town & Country quien ahora ocupa el cuarto lugar con sólo 32,769 unidades, es decir, casi 4 mil camionetas de diferencia con la Sienna.

El precio de este impresionante súper auto deportivo híbrido también será impresionante pues según el mercado, podría costar de 700,000 a 900,000 libras esterlinas (1,200,000USD aproximadamente). Aunque ya es un hecho que la versión de producción limitada a 250 unidades del C-X75 tendrá el motor a gasolina montado en el centro, Tata –quien es propietaria de Jaguar, Land Rover y la aeronáutica Bladon Jets, asegura estar trabajando en un sistema de microturbinas como las que encontrábamos en el concepto que debutó en el Salón de París 2010 y que en algún futuro, este tipo de motorización moverá a sus autos.
