Welcome to Spiritual Egypt Tours Newsletter
Stop Press BONUS day added added to the Tour!!!! Tour!!!! Fire Walking Event added to the Tour!!! Tour!!! Early Bird Special of US$1,000 Extended to the 8thof May!!! May!!! "Hello I'm Rhonnda Fritz and welcome to our Newsletter! Right now as I write this issue I am in Egypt. I am staying in a gorgeous 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom huge apartment that overlooks the pyramids as a guest of our Egyptian Tour Operators and I have it all to myself!! I’m finding it rather difficult to stay focussed on my laptop screen because my eyes keep wandering to the window and those incredible pyramids. They are so close I feel like if my arm was a little longer I could reach out and touch them. I have seen them so many times but they still take my breath away. This morning when I awoke they were shrouded in mist with only the top of the Great Pyramid being visible so they looked quite mystical until the Sun burnt through the mist and once again their enormous size filled me with wonder.
Extra Included Bonus Day Through the generosity of our Egyptian Tour Operators, I am excited to announce a bonus day for our Journey to Awakening Spiritual Tour in December this year. The Tour will now begin on the 7th of December and ends in Giza on the 22nd of December 2012. This means that you enjoy travelling through Egypt for 16 days and only pay for 15 days. On the bonus day we will be exploring old Cairo including Coptic and Islamic Cairo as well as a few surprises along the way. The history within this area is absolutely astounding and our guides know all there is to know including what’s down all the back alleys and the splendour to be discovered. We will also spend some time at the famous Khan el Khalili market to get you started with your bartering skills. This is a treasure trove of things to see and buy if you so choose. Cairo is the 3rd largest city in the world and is a really exciting place to explore. Most tourists don’t get the opportunity to explore Cairo beyond the Cairo Museum and the
Pyramids but on my many trips to Cairo I have discovered a city that is brimming with life and adventure.
Fire Walking Event I am also excited to announce that I have met with a friend and colleague of mine here in Cairo who runs fire walking events in conjunction with his NLP training company. He has agreed to run a fire walking event especially for my tour guests. In addition I have requested that he open the event to his graduates and students so that those on the tour will be able to mingle with some very switched on locals who I find so uplifting to be around because of their passion and optimism. Some you will meet were in Tahrir Square during the Revolution. This event will occur on the evening of the 20th of December which is the night before the 2012 alignment and also the night before we greet the dawn between the paws of the Sphinx and enter the pyramid at Sunset for a 2 hour activation and guided meditation in the Great Pyramid. This fabulous event will be included in your tour price. There will be no obligation for you to do a fire walk the choice will be yours to make at the time. The atmosphere at these events is usually very uplifting, exciting and fun which is why I have arranged this special event for you.
Extension of Early Bird Payment This tour is designed as a once in a lifetime experience. It is many years since my tour operator has run tours with so much private access to the sites and in fact this will be the last one like this for a little while. It is for this reason that the tour is more expensive than most tours to Egypt. The tour is jam packed with things to see and do but we have still made room for you to relax and rejuvenate your mind body and spirit. This tour is running at a very high energy time for the planet and we will be making the most of our opportunities while at the sites to tap into the energy. Our Egyptian Tour Operators are really pulling out the stops to make this a very special tour and because of this I am now able to extend the earlybird payment plan. If you are thinking of joining us on the tour you can sill save $1,000 per person if you book and pay your deposit by the 8th of May. Bookings for this tour will close on the 1st of August.
Optional Tour to Tel Amarna – US$700 For those of you who want to see as much as possible while you are in Egypt, we now have an optional 5 day tour to Akhenaton’s Sun City at Tel Amarna which is a few hours South of Cairo. You will be met at the Cairo Airport by our Tour Managers and transported to the beautiful Marriott Hotel which is in a former palace. The following morning you will travel to Minya via Faiyoum Oasis. Overnight at Minya. Day 3 we explore Tel Amarna and Beni Hassan. Day 4 we return to Cairo and check into the gorgeous Mena House Hotel at Giza which is right next door to the pyramids where you will join with the main tour group for our welcome dinner. This is a very restful and beautiful part of Egypt and not one that is usually on the tourist map so well worth seeing. Cost of the Tour is US$700
Optional Tour to Sinai For anyone who isn’t in a hurry to get back for Christmas I have organised another optional 4 day tour at the end of the main tour to Sharm el Sheikh. The Red Sea resorts are breath taking and a perfect way to wind down after the main tour. Included in this tour will be a visit to the St Catherine’s
Monastery and Mt Sinai overnighting in a fantastic rustic hotel with all the mod cons in the desert. Minimum numbers will apply for this tour so you will need to contact me for further details if you are interested in extending your stay in Egypt. In this issue check out the ongoing travel diary and spiritual awakening for Carla and John as they travel on their own journey to awakening through Egypt. In these diary entries they visit the temples at Karnak in Luxor and tell of their experiences in the wonderful Temple of Sekhme. Also in our regular feature of "Must Visit Places in Egypt" we go to Sakkara which is where you find the famous Steppe Pyramid built by Imhotep. Egyptian Gods and Goddesses
Hathor – Goddess of Love, Beauty and the Arts Hathor is a goddess dating to pre-dynastic times. She was known as "the Great One of Many Names" and her titles and attributes are so numerous that she was important in every area of the life and death of the ancient Egyptians. She is represented as a beautiful cow with a Sun disk between her horns or as a beautiful woman regally dressed wearing cow horns on her head with a Sun disk between the horns. The latter depiction of Hathor didn’t appear until later periods. When she is depicted as a cow she always has soft ears and her eyes are enhanced with beautiful colours.
As legend goes she was the nurse for Horus the younger hence the connection with the cow. Hathor was the earliest Goddess to be depicted wearing a headdress of cow’s horns with a sun disk. In later times Isis also took on the cow horn headdress. These two Goddesses can easily be confused when they are depicted in this way. In some instances the only way to tell which of the Goddesses is being portrayed is to look at the hieroglyphics on the wall next to her usually near the head. If it is Hathor it will show a falcon inside a box and if it is Isis you will find a throne.
Hieroglyph for Hathor
Her cult centre is in Dendera in Upper Egypt. In her temples you will find beautiful carvings of a soft eyed Hathor
Hathor’s cult is unusual in that both men and women were her priests. Most of the deities had clerics and priests of the same gender as them. Many of Hathor’s priests were musicians, dancers and artisans in their own right who turned their rituals into the most amazing art forms. Music and dancing were very much a part of the worship of Hathor. Hathor was also the Goddess for inspiration and many people came to her temples to have their dreams interpreted or to ask her to aid them in the creation of their hopes wishes and desires much in the same way as the Greeks turned to their Nine Muses for inspiration. In her capacity as the Goddess of Music and dancing her symbol was the sistrum an ancient percussion instrument. Hathor was originally a personification of the Milky Way which was considered to be the milk that flowed from the udders of a heavenly cow. This linked her with Nut, Bat and Mehet-Weret. She was a sky goddess known as “Lady of Stars”. She was linked to Sirius. Her birthday was celebrated on the day that Sirius first rose in the sky which of course was the signal for the coming yearly inundation of the Nile River. As time passed she absorbed the attributes of many of the other Goddesses and especially became closely associated with Isis. In many ways Hathor became more popular and more powerful than Isis. There were many festivals dedicated to Hathor – one in particular took place in September where an effigy of Hathor was carried by boat from Dendera to Edfu each September. A huge flotilla of boats joined the procession and there was much celebration with music, dancing and feasting. Once the boats reached Edfu, Hathor was joined with Horus in a marriage ceremony in the temple. Hathor was also the Goddess of beauty and her image was often found adorning mirrors and other things of beauty. She was known as "the mistress of life" and was seen as the embodiment of joy, love, romance, perfume, dance, music and alcohol. Hathor was especially connected with the fragrance of myrrth incense, which was considered to be very precious and to embody all of the finer qualities of the female sex. Hathor was associated with turquoise, malachite, gold and
copper. As "the Mistress of Turquoise" and the "lady of Malachite" she was the patron of miners and the goddess of the Sinai Peninsula (the location of the famous mines). The Egyptians used eye makeup made from ground malachite which had a protective function (in fighting eye infections) which was attributed to Hathor. In astrological terms, Hathor can be related to the planet Venus. Just as Venus can be the bringer of much love, laughter and beauty so to can she bring destruction when things go wrong as in when relationships hit a bump in the road. So it is with Hathor. The dark side of Hathor is Sekhmet and as legend goes it was his daughter Hathor that Ra turned to in order to protect his reign as Pharaoh when his people were turning against him. She turned into the lion goddess Sekhmet and slaughtered many who opposed Ra as Pharaoh. In this capacity, Hathor is known as the Eye of Ra. Sekhmet of course took things a little too far and became blood thirsty. Ra interrupted her killing spree by drugging her with beer that had been dyed red. When she awoke she was mortified by what she had done. In her capacity as Sekhmet she then became the goddess of healing and protection.

The Spiritual Awakening Travel Diary for John & Carla – Day 4 - A Visit to Karnak Temple and the Temple of Sekhmet Last night I slept like a baby with the very gentle rocking of the boat. This morning we visited Karnak Temple which is linked to the Luxor Temple via an avenue of Sphinxes. It is my understanding that the last of these sphinxes has only been discovered in the last few years.
Avenue of Sphinxes at Approach to Karnak
It makes me wonder just how much is still under the shifting sands of the desert that lie waiting to be rediscovered. This temple complex is massive and in fact is one of the largest temple complexes in the world. Our Egyptologist is an absolute walking encyclopaedia of the history of Ancient Egypt and his facts and stories about this place had me mesmerised. I was astounded by the size of the obelisks here. They are massive and have been carved from the one piece of granite. They were commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut who was later to be known as King or Pharaoh the only female to rule in her own right as a Pharaoh. So many special temples and the feat of engineering just has me gob smacked.
Obelisks at Karnak
But the highlight of this trip to the Karnak temple complex was a visit to the Temple of Sekhmet which is in a section of the complex that isn't open to the public. Carla has been reading about Sekhmet since we arrived in Egypt and with what she has been through on her journey to recovery she was looking forward to visiting this temple. Now I'm not into all this spirituality stuff, but I have to admit that when I saw that life size statue of a curvaceous woman with the head of a lioness, there was definitely something very moving about the experience. They refer to this statue as a living statue of Sekhmet and I have to admit that as you stood and looked at it, it certainly did feel like it could suddenly come to life at any moment. Carla will no doubt have an entry of her own about her experience with Sekhmet because she found the visit to Sekhmet to be almost earth shattering. In fact I think I'll let Carla tell the rest of the story of today because for me it was a nice experience to visit this Temple but for Carla well something must have happened for her to be crying - she said they were tears of joy but what can I tell you, I guess it is a woman thing. Actually John was affected by his visit to the Sekhmet Temple. John always becomes very quiet and introspective when he has something on his mind and all the way back to the Afandina he didn't say a word which was fine by me because I was still processing the experience myself. Later though we sat with a group on the boat and shared our experiences from today. John was asking a lot of questions about energy and was listening intently to a couple of our new friends as they went into great depth about their spiritual experiences. I was somewhat surprised because usually he doesn’t want a bar of anything remotely metaphysical but something is shifting within him – not that he is ready to admit it yet.
The Temple of the Goddess Sekhmet is on the left hand side of the Karnak Temple away from the main complex. It's a little bit of a trek to get there but such a worthwhile experience if you ever have the opportunity to have access to the temple.
Approach to the Temple of Sekhmet at Karnak Temple
The energy in this special place is unmistakeable. You feel like you want to whisper for it feels like a sacred space and you don't want to disturb the energies. We had a very special meditation in the chamber where the living statue of Sekhmet is located and after the meditation as the rest of the group departed the chamber I hugged the statue. I stood ever so carefully on the raised platform she stands on and rested my head on her shoulder. I swear I felt her head turn and rest against the top of my head. In that moment I feel a jolt of energy flow through my body followed by a calmness like I've never felt before came over me. I felt completely aligned and at peace with myself and in that very moment I knew the cancer would never return. Tears slid down my cheeks and I will never forget this incredible experience for as long as I live. There is an unexplained magic running through the sites of Egypt. I’ve read how the sites are aligned to star systems and are built with precision and incorporating sacred geometry. That’s all a little beyond me at this stage but I find it so fascinating. All I know is what I feel when I am in these places. A couple of people discovered that there were numerous orbs in the pictures that they took in the temple.
Sekhmet has quite a chequered history in that at one stage she was the goddess of war. At the request of her father Ra when the Gods were under attack from the humans, she ran rampant throughout Egypt on a killing spree turning the fields red with the blood of humans. Ra had to trick her into drinking drugged red wine in order to get her to stop her rampage when he felt that she had gone too far. When Sekhmet realised what she had done she was very repentant and as a result became the Goddess of Healing. If ever there was a Goddess for me it has to be Sekhmet and now that I have felt her loving and healing energy I am indeed a follower. This afternoon we had some free time so I took John shopping to buy some gold which is very good in this part of Egypt. I bought a cartouche which is a rectangular piece of gold with my name engraved in hieroglyphics on the front of it and a carving of the Goddess Isis on the back of it. I also bought a large gold charm of Sekhmet and a couple of beautiful gold chains for them. Now I also have a material reminder of my visit to Sekhmet. I was told by our Egyptologist that I should wear my cartouche as often as possible and that the chain it is on should be long enough so that the cartouche rests over my heart chakra. This gives it more power as a personal talisman.
I really enjoy the evenings on the Nile River. The sunsets are truly magnificent. The sky turns a blazing display of orange, yellow and red and the Nile becomes a reflection of the sky.
The temperature drops a little and it is so pleasant sitting up on deck looking up at the stars. This is truly a magical time in my life. Tomorrow we travel to Dendera to the Temple of Hathor and to Abydos.

Must See Sites in Egypt
Saqqara – Home to the Famous Step Pyramid
Saqqara has the distinction of having the first pyramids built in Egypt. The most famous is the Step Pyramid of Djozer. Saqqara actually has more royal pyramids than Giza, and it was here that a number of other "firsts" occurred in pyramid building. For example, it was here that we find the first recording on pyramid walls of the so called "Pyramid Texts". Just as at Giza, Saqqara has several private tombs, many of them belonging to important ancient Egyptian officials and dating to the very earliest of times. The Great Step Pyramid Complex at Saqqara is on almost all tour itineraries and for good reason. Few monuments hold a place in human history as significant as that of this Pyramid. It can be said without exaggeration that the Step Pyramid complex constitutes a milestone in the evolution of monumental stone architecture, both in Egypt and in the world as a whole. It is the beginning of true pyramids of the 4th Dynasty master builders.
According to tradition, it was built for Horus Netjerikhet, better known as King Djozer, a major ruler of Egypt's 3rd Dynasty, by Imhotep, Egypt's most famous architect who was subsequently deified during the New Kingdom. Djozer is actually the name given to this king by visitors to the site one thousand years after its construction despite Netjerykhet being the only name found on its walls. The step pyramid dominates this antiquity site. Limestone was first used at Saqqara as a construction material on a large scale. It would be hard to overemphasize the dramatic leap in architectural size and sophistication represented in the Step Pyramid. Prior to Djozer’s complex, the most common material for large buildings was mud brick. However, the Step Pyramid may not actually be the first step pyramid. Several small mastabas at Abusir seem to have had as many as three steps and date to the second half of the 1st Dynasty. Prior to its expansion, Djozer's complex went through a stage where it had only four steps.
The complex is surrounded by a wall of fine white Tura limestone, which when first built, measured some 10.5 meters high and 1,645 meters long. Within was an area of about 15 ha, which would have been the size of a small town during the Old Kingdom. It contained a vast complex of functional, as well as what we believe were dummy buildings, including pavilions of the North and South, large tumuli and terraces, finely carved facades, ribbed and fluted columns, stairways, platforms, shrines chapels and life-size statues. There was even a replica of the pyramid substructure, called the South Tomb, but the centre piece was, of course, the Step Pyramid itself, rising to a height of about 60 meters, in six steps and containing some 330,400 cubic meters of clay and stone.
Astrology in Ancient Egypt By Rhonnda Fritz Egyptian astrology has twelve signs, each named after a particular god or goddess. The twelve signs based on the twelve gods and goddesses are:
• Hapi (Also known as The Nile): (from 1st to 7th January, 19th to 28th June, 1st to
7th September and 18th to 26th November) -The Nile is a river whose steadiness is interrupted by floods of incredible abundance. Like an artery in which the blood and salt of the maternal body of the Land of Egypt circulates, the sacred river fertilizes the earth with its rich deposits. There, where the papyrus, reeds, millet, sorghum and ritual flowers grow, civilization was born. Those born under this sign are peace-makers, lovers of refinement and owe it to themselves to live in an awakened state. They are receptive to all the riches they bring to their surroundings. The "Nile people" are wise, tolerant and capable of motherly tenderness towards all those who desire to break loose from ignorance. But, like this mighty river that when it floods turns into a raging torrent they are subject to changing moods.
• Amon Ra: (from 8th to 21st January and from 1st to 11th February) - Ra is the
principal god of Egypt and is considered to be the God who constructed the world. Those born under this sign are generous and find their steps guided toward great opportunities. They tend to benefit from a great awakening force that gives them the ability to reassure people and inspire them to give their best. To be born under Amon Ra is both an asset and a challenge. The path of your life will never be mediocre or shallow. Your spirit is coloured by meditative wanderings and depth, and when the feelings you experience or provoke are not at a high spiritual level, you tend to disappoint yourself. People born under this sign are known for having a strong will, outstanding courage and self-confidence. They are excellent leaders as long as they do not over task their followers. They can also be obstinate and intolerant.
• Mut: (from 22nd to 31st January and from 8th to 22nd September) - Mut is one of
the most ancient Egyptian goddesses. The waters of the Nile and the burning sand of the Nubian Desert are part and symbolic of her dominion. In the presence of this fearsome goddess, man is born with the feeling that his life must be paid for by guilt in terms of the mystical parallel between the life of the human and the death of the divine. Thus, those born under the sign of Mut are secretive people inclined to melancholy. Full of irony, frustrated in seduction because of their shyness, they nevertheless have formidable inner riches because they know how to go directly to the point in all their human relationships. Their wisdom is obvious, their hopes inspiring. What they search for most is the goodwill and protection of an authoritative father figure.
• Geb: (from 12th to 28th February and from 20th to 31st August) - Geb holds
dominion over the Earth and intervenes in the Egyptian pantheon and rituals to make sure that when oaths are taken, they are both sacred and benevolent. Every pledge that obliges the speaker to change the course of his earthly life is ritually buried in the safekeeping of Geb before being officially announced. As a guardian of life, Geb harbours the positive virtues of sweetness, submission and peaceable firmness. As a symbol of memory, he predisposes those born under his sign to careers of writers, administrators and counsellors. The Geb personality is attractive and so highly sensitive that it is very impressionable. Their modesty and ability to empathize with the feelings and upsets of others can be a disadvantage, but Geb's cosmic ascendancy naturally lifts them above self-love and vanity.
• Osiris: (from 1st to10th March and from 27th November to 18th December) -
Assisted by Isis, his sister and wife, Osiris gives humans respect for the gods, instruction in agriculture and in the order of the universe. Osiris is a symbol of continuity where the cycle of disintegration and rebirth are played out in our lives. Those born under the sign of Osiris have an inbuilt understanding for the rhythm of cycles and have the ability to choose the right moment in time to do things. However, their character has two sides and while one can be generous and intuitive and able to pick the right moment, the other side can be fiery and vulnerable. When faced with adversity, this side of Osiris can waver and they then experience the dilemma of not being able to choose between the options presented resulting in often not picking the right moment for action and decision or delaying too long so that they don’t achieve their desired outcome. Others tend to find people born under this sign to be emotionally perplexing and they are often misunderstood. Their strengths are being dynamic, intelligent, and enterprising but they have a tendency to avoid taking responsibility whenever possible.
• Isis: (from 11 to 31st March, from 18th to 29th October and from 19th to 31st
December) – The most illustrious of Egyptian goddesses. She has a huge capacity for nurturing love and enforcing discipline. With her strength she protects all those who are about to perish coldly for lack of faith in the wild generosity of the vital spirit. The Soul of Isis is devoted to the purest of quests, and this glorious lover is the supreme messenger of life. Pride and meanness fail before this unequalled magician. Isis, proud and alone is the mother of life. The goddess Isis is often represented by the double protection of the looped cross and the knot, symbols of the perpetuation of origins and descendants. To be born under the demanding sign of Isis confers a dimension of solidarity and unity. People born under this sign are likely to be very hospitable, honourable, straightforward and idealistic. They tend to use logic and intuition and view things from different perspectives. They have the ability to have smooth relationships with others and display a lot of self confidence. Their thoughts and sense of humour usually sees them being quite popular. On the down side they can get obsessed with ideas and withdraw from the world when problems grow increasingly serious. They need to learn to not give up and to face their problems head on.
• Thoth: (from 1st to 19th April and from 8th to 17th November) - It is with modesty
that this bird-god Thoth provides ingenious ideas to the simple senses of humans and inspires their souls and energies with a passion to know and to build. Thoth's clear-sightedness drives away indolence, insidious cunning and impatient pride. Thoth's instruction induces people to invent and to risk breaking with tradition. Nature insists on producing enlightened masters
who must serve her without pretensions in order to dominate her. Thoth comes to us as a good-natured memory, keen to preserve wisdom and is patron of astronomers, accountants, healers and charmers. Thoth stands out from all the gods of ancient Egypt by best expressing the reliability of the creative word which he repeats tirelessly to all beings that bring fertility to the banks of the Nile. Those born under the sign of Thoth are enthusiastic and enterprising, but tend to scorn mediocrity and meanness. They are courageous and like to take risks provided they are engaged in efforts that will ultimately allow them to surpass themselves. They can sometimes be rash and impatient. They are typically accurate and capable problem solvers and also excellent organisers. It is unthinkable for them to break their word or to cheat others
• Horus: (from 20th April to 8th May and from 12th to 19th August) - This bird-god
possesses to a supreme degree the virtues of enlightment and peace with which he renews the vital fluids of that which is desiccated or congealed. With Horus, the politics of justice take shape in the mythical world of the ancient Egyptians. Those born under the sign of Horus make their way in the world with a fierce will courageously facing dangers and seldom forestalling catastrophes. Their intelligence and breadth of learning tends to give them the capability for understanding and uncovering information. Their strengths are optimism, brilliantly sociable and being highly motivated to win the best in life. Their weaknesses tend to be a reluctance to confront problems in a realistic manner and being stubborn. They must master their rebellious spirit early, before their eagerness to dominate takes over and works against them.
• Anubis: (from 9th to 27th May and from 29th June to 13th July) - To this god with
the head of a wild dog is attributed the invention and spread of the techniques of embalming the dead. Anubis symbolizes death and the wandering of the departed until they persuade Sekhmet to open the door to the valley of immortality. Those born under this sign are clever and full of compassion, but they have great depth and places of mystery that others find difficult to understand. They have a natural understanding of the dark side of life; their character is deeply ambivalent and sometimes fatalistic. Their deep sufferings can sometimes build a wall of inhibition that occasionally restrains their amorous initiatives. They radiate a profound personality, are aware of the opposing forces within them and are always ready and willing to adopt the best solutions to any dilemma they face.
• Seth: (from 28th May to 18th June and from 28th September to 2nd October) -
Seth embodies the powerful forces needed to bring about great change. Ultimately defeated by Isis and her son, the falcon-god Horus, Seth becomes a free spirit, a wanderer on earth and, after his forced exile, the god of desert solitude. Those born under the sign of Seth seek change and are forever searching for their wholeness. They must experience many adventures before finding themselves and being able to direct their strong inner powers. They readily learn from their mistakes and possess a tenacity in their challenges unrivalled by any other sign. The essence of Seth is metamorphosis, the cocoon of life is ever expanding to embrace new knowledge and insight The Seth personality is called upon to lead the way into these unexplored dimensions.
• Bastet: (from 19th June to 28th July, from 23rd to 27th September and from 3rd to 17th October) – Bastet is a goddess with the body of a woman and the face of a cat who swings between good and bad tendencies. The importance accorded to the cat by the ancient Egyptians is linked directly to its gaze which embodies the secret repository of a mysterious
knowledge. Simply by its magnetic presence, it can detect and thwart any outside attack. Bastet is fascination arising from a forbidden place. When this mysterious knowledge is realized, it opens the way to worship in the deepest sense. Those born under this sign seek balance and harmony in their relations with others. They know how to protect and devote themselves to their loved ones while occasionally neglecting their own interests. They possess an inner strength and agility which helps them to recognize their hidden enemies and thus triumph over them. The Bastet character can sense the most obscure psychic forces. When aligned with this intuitive strength, they bring great insight into business ventures and especially affairs of the heart. • Sekhmet: (from 29th July to 11th August and from 30th October to 7th November) – Sekhmet is the lioness Goddess and is the daughter of Amun Ra. She is the keeper of order, righteousness and justice. In Egypt, lions are often depicted two at a time back to back, each of them looking out over the opposite horizon. This twosome symbolizes presence through an eternal gaze which surveys and controls at the same time. The Sekhmet nature stretches from the extreme pure to the most impure, from order to disorder and from just to the unjust. Those born under this sign are strongly telepathic, observant, authoritarian and rarely indulge themselves. Their moral sense is sometimes unfortunately censorious in spite of their secret desires. Sekhmet people are endowed with a majestic grace and inner sense of beauty which aligns them with the rhythm of the earth. They possess a brilliant mentality and sustained optimism and imagination. They are eloquent and possess a witty sense of humour. They need to watch their impatient, impetuous and quarrelsome nature that can lash out at others when they feel that their territory is being threatened in any way. Many of the world sports champions are born under this sign.
