Russia opposes any external provocation on Venezuela
The Government of Vlamidir Putin expresses its support to the South American nation and emphasized that hopes to deepen cooperation and strategic relations. The Russian government qualified as unacceptable any intent of provocation that searches to generate social tensions in Venezuela, including any external incitement, after the opposition obtained the majority of the Parliament in the recent parliamentary elections in this South American nation. Through a statement, the Foreign Ministry of Russia said that “is impossible to correct the situation without an effective, constructive internal political dialogue and without the harmonious interaction of all powers of the State”. “We hope that the Government and the Parliament will find a constitutional form of productive joint work for the good of the country and its people. Any attempt to artificially provoke social tensions, including incitement from the outside, is unacceptable”, defines the text. Russia considers that the results of the parliamentary elections of the 6th of December, in which the parties of the governmental Alliance –the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) – obtained 55 deputies and the self-proclaimed Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) 109, “the will was carried out in a warm and peaceful environment and in strict accordance with the provisions of the Constitution”. In this sense, the Russian government believes that "the results of the will of the Venezuelan people confirm the importance that people give to the necessity to address the critical issues that the country faces in the socioeconomic field”.
