AIR HAMBURG IS THE LAUNCH CUSTOMER FOR THE LEGACY 650E GERMANY’S AIR HAMBURG, ONE OF EUROPE’S LARGEST BUSINESS JET SERVICE PROVIDERS AND AN ESTABLISHED OPERATOR OF 11 EMBRAER JETS, WILL TAKE DELIVERY OF ITS FIRST LEGACY 650E IN THIRD QUARTER

The Legacy 650E, which builds on the success of the Legacy 650 and Legacy 600 by offering advanced avionics and an unprecedented 10-year, 10,000-flight-hour warranty, will be delivered to Air Hamburg in the third quarter. PHENOM 300 GLOBAL FLEET SURPASSES 400 AIRCRAFT IN MARCH, EMBRAER MARKED A MILESTONE DELIVERY OF THE PHENOM 300 WITH THE HANDOVER OF ITS 400 th LIGHT JET

The delivery of the Phenom 300 to newly launched air charter and taxi operator EliteJets.com was celebrated roughly seven years after the first Phenom 300 rolled off Embraer’s production line. This Phenom 300 is the fourth Embraer light jet to be delivered to EliteJets.com. The air charter and taxi operator will operate the four Phenom 300s and a Legacy 500 midsize jet from its home in Naples, Florida, as well as operational bases in such key charter markets as Chicago, New York and Colorado.

SINO JET BUILDING A LEADING BRAND WITH THE LEGACY 650 Sino Jet has grown rapidly since its launch in 2011 to become one of China’s leading business jet operators, with a mature fleet consisting of 33 business jets. In 2015, Sino Jet added the first of three Legacy 650s to its fleet and since then has used these Embraer large jets to establish itself as a leader in premium leisure travel services and corporate charter. Ms. Wu Bing, Executive President of Sino Jet (Beijing), shared with us the company’s strategy regarding corporate operation and China’s business aviation market. PHENOM 100 EV READY FOR EUROPEAN OPERATIONS THE EUROPEAN AVIATION SAFETY AGENCY (EASA) HAS BECOME THE LATEST REGULATOR TO GRANT TYPE CERTIFICATION FOR THE NEXT EVOLUTION OF EMBRAER’S ENTRY-LEVEL BUSINESS JET, THE PHENOM 100 EV

The Phenom 100 EV entered service in March and has been approved by Brazil’s ANAC, the FAA and now EASA. Unveiled at EAA AirVenture in July 2016, the Phenom 100 EV offers more thrust than previous models of Embraer’s first clean-sheet business jet as well as the Prodigy Touch flight deck that was introduced by Embraer’s Phenom 300 light jet. Since the delivery of the first Phenom 100 in December 2008, Embraer’s entry-level jet has helped revitalize a key sector of business aviation as a lead-in trainer for airline and military pilots. Etihad, Emirates, Finnair, the UK Ministry of Defence and China Southern have all acquired the jet for pilot training.

To date, more than 350 Phenom 100s have been delivered to customers in 37 countries. “This additional certification allows us to commence deliveries of this new entry-level business jet in the European market. The Phenom 100 EV exceeds expectations, delivering the value that customers are looking for in an aircraft of this class,” says Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. EMBRAER-OWNED SERVICE CENTER IN LE BOURGET

EMBRAER STRENGTHENS GLOBAL SUPPORT NETWORK Embraer Executive Jets has bolstered its global customer support network with the appointment of Russia’s JF Services as an authorized service center for the Legacy 450 mid-light and Legacy 500 midsize business jets. The addition of Moscow-based JF Services to Embraer’s network of 72 owned and authorized service centers follows the recent certification of both aircraft by Russian authorities and the delivery of the first Legacy 500 to a Russian customer. JF Services will support Legacy 450s and Legacy 500s with Russian and EASA registrations. Embraer Executive Jets’ customers also will benefit from the FAA’s recent designation of the company’s Le Bourget service center as a Part 145 repair station, a certification that allows all U.S.-registered Embraer business jets to receive support at this facility just outside Paris. Opened in 2008, the Le Bourget service center provides routine inspections as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for Embraer’s entire business jet portfolio. The Le Bourget facility now holds certifications from 15 global aviation authorities. Embraer’s business jet fleet in the region continues to grow, with 130 customers operating more than 270 aircraft from 40 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

FIGHTER JET EXPERIENCE PRIMED TECHNICIAN FOR FASTER PACE

ERIC SNEED, ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

Embraer Executive Jets assembly technician Eric Sneed became proficient at maintaining high standards while working under tight deadlines when he performed avionics maintenance on fighter jets during the Iraq War. “I was a shop supervisor during Operation Iraqi Freedom, so basically every aircraft had to fly as much as possible,” says Sneed, who spent eight years in the Navy as an aviation electronics technician in Virginia Beach. Sneed says repairing wires and cables on F-14B and F/A-18 jets as efficiently as possible provided him the expertise to adapt to the ramped-up assembly-line pace at Embraer, where he installs electrical harnesses and antenna cabling on Phenom 100s and 300s. Since joining Embraer in January 2012, demand has continued to grow, especially for the Phenom 300, which has been the world’s best-selling business jet for four years in a row. Sneed always remains focused on building the best and safest executive jets possible, ever mindful of the customers who will fly in them. “I understand that 20 years from now, people are going to be in this aircraft. So I have to do my job to the best of my ability at the highest quality,” he says.

He is proud to be a member of a knowledgeable team that continually rethinks convention, including fellow technicians and manufacturing engineers who have worked on military jets and the NASA space shuttle fleet.

“Florida’s Space Coast is like the Silicon Valley of the aeronautical world, and Embraer sits right at the heart of it all in Melbourne, FL. Embraer truly attracts many of the industry’s best and brightest – from former NASA shuttle engineers to military jet technicians to space systems specialists – and it’s really incredible to work alongside so many esteemed experts.” For Sneed, one especially gratifying aspect of building Embraer aircraft is occasionally spotting one of the executive jets he helped to build. “If I’m not at work, I’m always pointing out Embraer planes and saying, ‘I think I built that.’ Any time I pass by an executive airport, I’m always looking to see if there’s one parked there.”

EMBRAER EXECUTIVE JETS AT EBACE 2017 Embraer Executive Jets was present at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva May 22-24, 2017. The complete portfolio – including the entry-level Phenom 100, the world’s best-selling Phenom 300, the clean-sheet Legacy 450 and Legacy 500, the versatile Legacy 650E and the ultralarge Lineage 1000E – were on static display and received visitors from all over Europe as well as Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North and South America. Visitors were especially delighted by the olive branch-inspired pattern (symbolic of world peace) featured in the lobby of the Lineage 1000E as well as throughout the carpet. The aircraft’s two-person shower option also wowed attendees.

LEGACY 450 DEBUTS AT PARIS AIRSHOW 2017

The technological advances and innovation of the Legacy 450, Embraer Executive Jets’ newest aircraft, were on display at this year’s Paris Airshow, June 19-25. llustrating Embraer’s unique position in executive, defense and commercial aviation (as well as the Paris Airshow’s important role in promoting the best of global aviation), the daily flight displays included the KC-390 multi-mission transport and aerial refueling aircraft and the new E195-E2, the largest member of Embraer’s second generation commercial jet family. All three jets offer Embraer’s state-of-the-art full fly-by-wire flight control system. “The Legacy 450 received a lot of attention during its debut at the 52nd Paris Airshow,” says Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. “Combined with class-leading range and speed, the fly-by-wire controls help the Legacy 450 offer a unique value proposition in the space,” he adds.
