2023 River & Yacht Cruises Guest Luggage & Travel Documentation FAQs
What are the key changes?
Beginning from March 2023 onwards, guests with a river or ocean cruise booking for the current operating season will:
• receive an on board credit 50pp instead of luggage and travel accessories*; and
• receive electronic rather than printed travel documentation, with all travel documentation becoming electronic in the next few months
*Effective dates for the changes vary by product. On board credit is only valid for the current operating season during the below dates:
• Europe River Cruising – March – December 2023
• Asia River Cruising – June 2023 – May 2024
• Yacht Cruises – 28 March 2023 – March 2024 (Emerald Azzurra up to include E02J300324.1. Emerald Sakara up to include E05J300324.1)
Why is Emerald Cruises introducing these changes?
Over recent years we have made significant changes to reduce our environmental impact, including the elimination of guest single-use plastics on board our ships, the introduction of reusable water bottles and a shift to emailing guest travel documentation.
These changes are a continuation of that commitment to leaving as small a footprint as possible for future travel generations as part of global Emerald Cruises Cherish the Plant.
What value on board credit will I receive?
What can I use my on board credit for?
The credit will be automatically applied to your on board account and can be used towards the following:
• DiscoverMORE excursions
• A spa or wellness treatment
• Your choice of premium beverages throughout your cruise
• Additional laundry services
Are there any other restrictions on how the on board credit can be used?
The credit is not redeemable for cash, non-transferable and non-refundable. Limits and exclusions may apply and will be subject to availability.
What if guests prefer to receive printed documentation?
As part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact we will no longer be printing travel documentation for guests and encourage you to adopt the same approach however we understand for good reasons some guests may still prefer to print some documentation themselves.
What if I have a back-to-back cruise/ Epic Voyage?
You will receive a credit for each cruise, however any unused credits from your first cruise cannot be carried over to the second cruise.
What if I am already entitled to an on board credit or some of these benefits?
The on board credit is in addition to any existing entitlements or benefits that are related to your loyalty level, stateroom or suite you have booked or any promotion you received when making your booking.
