Mission Statement:

Set on one acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with a garden, Emeritus at Sellwood is considered one of Portland’s premier senior living communities. Located close to Highway 99, I-5, US Highway 26 and the Sellwood Bridge, our community offers 85 apartments on four floors.

Here our residents – in many cases, with their pets – enjoy retirement and assisted living.

Our common areas include our lovely dining room, TV room, ice cream parlor, activities center and library. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including cultural events, exercise classes, parties, hobbies and off-site excursions to local restaurants, museums, amusement parks, casinos, the Oregon Coast and more. Emeritus at Sellwood is conveniently located in a residential area, near Oaks Park, Willamette River, Portland Rose Garden, coffee shops, restaurants, bakeries and antique stores. In addition, several medical facilities are close by, including Providence Milwaukie Hospital, OHSU and VA Hospitals, all major Portland-area Medical Centers, and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.

As we get older, many of us naturally need a helping hand – perhaps someone to help us get ready for the day, help manage our medications or prepare special meals.

Sometimes that’s all we need to live safely on our own.

Our staff is here to offer that helping hand, but only when and if you need it. Our full range of assisted living services are designed to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible. Short-Stay

A great way to get to know us If you want to experience living at an Emeritus community before making a permanent move, or you’re being discharged from a hospital or nursing care facility and aren’t quite ready to go home, consider our short term stay program. You’ll receive the same services all residents enjoy – home-cooked meals, scheduled transportation, outstanding service and more. Taking advantage of our short term stay program is a great way to decide if our community suits your lifestyle and fits your needs!

To ensure we meet your needs, we use a state-of-the-art computerized assessment system, called the wE Care® Resident Evaluation Program. This helps us accurately evaluate and monitor assisted living services for each resident. In addition, our Director of Resident Care will visit with you on a regular basis to personally discuss health-related issues and to monitor your progress.
