Chef Adrianne's
became the first Miami-based
establishment to introduce the Dark Dining phenomenon. The Dark Dining format entails that participants dine blindfolded, in a particularly dimly lit setting, throughout a multiple course meal. It has proven to be an ideal platform for the work of a chef that is already renowned for her ability to pleasantly surprise her guests, and their palates on a regular basis. Chef Adrianne’s dishes feature a succulent, and often unprecedented, combination of flavors. With their sight temporarily unavailable, Dark Dining guests at are able to hone all of their other senses in on their meals, considerably enhancing their level of enjoyment. The goal is to create an indelible dining memory for each guest. A memory that will stand the test of time, in their mind when they think of some of the best meals they've ever enjoyed. With this event, we strive to take this approach one step further, so that the experience is far more than just a night out, enjoying a typical "nice dinner."

THE Chef Adrianne Calvo
is an award-winning chef, author, television
personality, and restaurateur. Filled with the love for food at a young age, Adrianne focused her efforts on her one true aspiration. During her remarkable journey, Adrianne has enjoyed a number of accolades which include: 2013 Culinary Academy Award in Florida, Best Restaurant Miami 2013 Miami Magazine, Best Restaurant Miami 2013 Urban Spoon, Best Chef 2014 Floridian Award, and Best Restaurant 2014. Coining the catch phrase, “Maximum Flavor”, Adrianne has managed to exceed to the “maximum” degree. From graduating top of her class at Johnson & Wales University, to now owning and operating her own restaurant, Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine bar in Miami FL, for just shy of a decade.
Incorporating many unique traits to her menu, The Napa Valley inspired restaurant offers a wide selection of her one-of-a-kind “Maximum Flavor” infused dishes. Calvo is the only chef in Miami that offers “Dark Dining” at her restaurant every month without repetition of a theme or menu. Dark Dining offers a unique and sensual experience, with guests wearing blindfolds, to eliminate one sense by enhancing another-taste. This event has drawn much attention and one that she truly enjoys creating. Along with being chef/owner of her restaurant, Adrianne has written two cookbooks, Maximum Flavor and Driven by Flavor Fueled by Fire.

By participating in this year's Dark Dining "The Eve Of Prohibition" event Chef Adrianne's Make-It-Count Charities will be donating all of the proceeds raised through sponsorships and ticket sales to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and its efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of children. Make it Count is a foundation started by Adrianne Calvo, inspired by her sister, Jennifer, who passed away at 19 years old due to cancer. She always said "Make it Count." In 2007, Adrianne along with her friends/staff of Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar, began to sponsor events for St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, Susan G Komen, and for the American Cancer Society. Every year, Adrianne visits St. Judes Hospital in Memphis during the holiday season to cook for the patients and families. The idea is to inspire young people to "Make it Count" and to help those who are less fortunate.This sort of endeavor has welcomed the participation into so many more charitable events and fundraisers. Her charitable efforts have been at the fore-front of this outreach and have garnered yearly participation in FLIPANY’s “Chefs up Front”, The Black’s Annual Gala benefiting at risk kids, Common Threads, Verizon’s 4G for Charity and The March of Dimes. In recognition for her time, efforts and charitable contributions, St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital honored Adrianne and “Make it Count” at their annual Stars and Angels Gala.
