Lemonade Stall

Harriet and her friend Wendy were running a lemonade stand. They sold: 8 lemonades between 9 am and 10 am 12 lemonades between 10 am and 11:30 am 13 lemonades between 11:30 am and 12 noon 1​ How many lemonades did the girls sell between 9 am and and 11:30 am? 2​ How many lemonades did the girls sell altogether? 3​ They also sold peanut cookies and popcorn as well as the lemonade. A​ The girls sold 3 times as much cookies as they did lemonade between 9 am and 11:30 am. How many cookies did they sell? Tiling the bathroom

Manuka and her dad were tiling the bathroom. The bathroom had an area of 16 foot square. Each tile was 1 foot square. 1​ Each tile costs $3.50. How much would it cost to tile the whole bathroom? 2​ Tile glue is sold in little packets. A​ ​ If one packet contains enough glue to glue 8 tiles, how many packets would Manuka and dad need? ​ B​ If one packet contains enough glue to glue 2 tiles, how many packets would Manuka need? 3​ The glue needs to be mixed with water first. If 100g of glue powder needs to be mixed with 60ml water, how much water needed to mix with 400g of glue powder? 4​ Manuka decided to tile the wall with leftover tiles. Each tile needs 50ml glue. A​ ​ If Manuka had 400ml glue, how much tiles could she glue?

Electricity Bills

Reymond was eager to minimize the amount his family spends on electricity a month. His family usually spends $250.00 a month. 1​ Reymond turned off the lights in his bedroom whenever he was not in there. This helped by saving $10.20. How much did the family spend now? 2​ If turning off the lights in a room for 2 hours saved $5.00 and Reymond turned off all the lights in all 5 rooms, how much money was saved? 3​ Unfortunately, Reymond’s younger brother Tom keeps the tv on whenever no-one is there, this adds an extra $30.00. How much money did the family pay now? 4​ The family decided to install solar panels on the roof, this saves $62.00 every month out of $250.00 for a year. How much money does the family have to pay over a year?


Money Dog

Caleb was in charge of buying dog food and feeding the dog for a month. He carefully planned ahead so no money will be wasted. 1​ At​ DogEat, ​ the price for 1kg bag of dog food is $10.00. The dog eats 100g of food per day. How much bags will Caleb need? 2​ Following question 1, how much money will Caleb spend on the bags of dog food? 3​ How much food does the dog eat over a 30 day month? 4​ If Caleb had $100.00, and he bought enough dog food bags to last a month, how much money will he have left?
