How did you use new technologies in the construction, planning and evaluation stages?
The film industry has benefited a lot from the ever growing new technology. The internet has had a very big effect on the film industry. Web 2.0 sites like YouTube and other video sites have enabled filmmakers to interact with their audience more easily. This has also enhanced the relationship with the audience. The amount of users using the Internet these days have grown dramatically over the past years. This has allowed the film industry to reach their audience more easily through online advertising and by the use of social networks such as Facebook, YouTube. We have created a trailer that will appear on Youtube and Social media as it will help to promote our film as they are now easily accessible platforms for our audience to reach. This has been made easier because services like Youtube are free to use and since editing has become easier to do on home computer by using services such as PremierePro it now costs less to be able to produce a good quality film when you have a low budget or no budget at all. To create posters for the film all you need to use is Photoshop, allows you to create the same effect and quality of a real movie poster if you understand how to use it. Blogger is also very helpful as it allows you to promote the film and information about it. YouTube YouTube has allowed us to study other horror film trailers so we were able to learn about what an audience likes to see, this was very successful for us as we incorporated some of the features that other horror trailers have used, and what grabs their attention it was also very helpful to use as a promotion for our trailer as it would own take minutes to upload it onto their server. This makes it a lot easier for low budget films to promote their films as it’s now easier for people to get to and reach.
