What have you learnt from your audience feedback? Audience feedback is highly important when producing an ad campaign as it helps us to understand what the audience wants to see. This can be seen in ‘The Women in Black’ as they produced different platforms of advertising to reach their different audience, for example having a competition for people to send in cost stories to win a prize. This is mainly targeted at the younger target audience that the film is aimed toward. For the more mature audience they are aiming for they promote the film within newspapers and also try to play off the book and play that has already been produced to win over the older audience to watch the film. We gathered information within screenings in class and also before production in a form of a questionnaire. We made sure to ask our demographic of 1518 so we get to see what our target audience want. After looking over the feedback received we got a mixture of good and bad reviews. Most of the feedback we received back stated that the nondiegetic soundtrack was too harsh and that it needed to be turned down to hear the music. To accommodate this in places we have turned down the music so the dialogue within the scene can become more apparent and so the audience can hear what is being said which was another comment made when people watched the trailer. Another frequent piece of feedback that was received was that not many people understood what the storyline of the film was or understand what they were seeing. One of the suggestions given was to add text in the editing stage to give more detail and this is what we did to try and help tell the narrative better, which has worked extremely well in getting the point across about what is happening to the teenagers. A couple of other comments that were made linked together both saying that Hangman was shown too much along with that there should be more suffering. We decided to keep the scenes how they are because we did them for a certain reason. We decided not to include too much suffering as we did not want to give too much away when it came to what happened to the characters. When it came to Hangman we want to include him throughout the trailer to build up fear for the character before the audience watch the film so they already fear him.
