The design is usable by visitors of various shapes, sizes and abilities. It is ADA accessible. The design is comfortable ergonomically for the user and it is a relaxing experience for visitors after physical travel. The design is both sustainable and environmentally friendly. Recycled and local materials are used whenever possible. The design is accepting of all who use it--not just physically with ergonomics, but with staff, aesthetic design choices, and opportunities for comfortable collaboration.

Various cultural norms were considered throughout the design process.

youth hostel design Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator Location: Florence, Italy Previously known as the PLUS Hostel

The objective of this project was to design a hostel that catered to today's youth, their needs and desires.

The concept that I chose is time and the idea that time is constantly changing. I implemented this concept through the use of unconventional elements that are appealing today.

The design solution celebrates today's youth by showcasing their desires and meeting their needs.

Villa. Color and industrial materials like plywood take over the white space to represent today's youth taking over the past and creating a new, more accepting culture for themselves and future generations.

HOSTEL FLOOR PLAN - 3/64” = 1’

The floor plan of the hostel is very open to create an opportunity for socialization between people of various cultures. It also makes the space more understandable and easier to navigate.

CUSTOM READING STAIR

The brand that I created, Villa, represents how today's youth view luxury in a very different way than ever before. Today's values surround travel, modularity, acceptance, growth and challenging thoughts. Villa was designed to showcase these ideals through both materiality and form.

The single bedroom has a locked door, so the storage solutions are open and unique. The custom unit for the single bedroom includes hanging storage behind two sliding panels, a hole underneath for additional storage, an under-the-bed drawer, and various shelving options.

The ceiling elements mimic the flooring changes and create connections between different surfaces. The plywood taking over white space is a motif throughout the design in both public and private spaces.

SINGLE BEDROOM PLAN Scale - 1/4” = 1’

The multi-person rooms use panels for privacy that have illuminated inserts to indicate which bed the user is meant to stay in. These inserts resemble a digital clock when turned on.

The double/triple bedroom includes lockable storage solutions and privacy. This room layout is ADA compliant.

The six person bedroom has sliding panels and ladders for privacy as well as built-in LED reading lights.

restaurant design Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator Location: Florence, Italy Previously known as the PLUS Hostel Restaurant

The objective of this project was to design a restaurant connected to the Villa Hostel that adhered to the same concept.

The concept that I chose is time and the idea that time is constantly changing. I implemented this concept through the use of unconventional elements that are appealing today.

The design solution is very energetic and open while including elements from the outdoor area.

The entrance to the restaurant is a hallway created with embedded LED lights rather than walls. It creates an experience for those entering the restaurant that is unforgettable.

The indoor bar is ADA compliant because of the use of regular seating in addition to bar stools. The bar is connected to the kitchen area to create a seamless integration of public and private zones. The window also makes for a swift communication opportunity between staff members.

The outdoor dining area is meant to extend the open plan of the restaurant through the use of curtain walls. The addition of greenery into the restaurant space creates a calming atmosphere for visitors. The unique beams paired with the orb lighting creates a memorable atmosphere for guests.

INDOOR BAR

The restaurant has a strong focus on the customer and their needs. There are iPads stationed between booths for ordering if needed in addition to waitors, multiple staffed bars, and an open plan to increase visibility. The restaurant also uses various forms of seating to ensure that guests are always comfortable.

cashwrap & impulse design Revit, Photoshop Location: Canada

The objective of this project was to design an impulse fixture and power wall for The Body Shop and a student design would be selected for GlobalShop 2018. The concept my teammate and I chose was global connection. We wanted to showcase how The Body Shop uses smart sourcing from around the world.

The design shows the maximum amount of product for impulse purchases and speaks to the global concept.

Our design was chosen to be implemented in The Body Shop stores in Canada and it is currently being reviewed at The Body Shop headquarters in London, England.

The competition was held by PAVE, an organization that helps students studying interior design. We attended GlobalShop 2018 and our design was built as a booth by S-Cube Fixtures for Retail.

We were in contact with S-Cube in order to build the fixtures and power wall. As a sophomore in college at the time, I had yet to learn construction documents. I learned so much from the process and am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with professionals to develop my design.

Each product at the cashwrap has an acrylic fixture designed to it's dimensions for organization. These acrylic fixtures can be moved to different spots on the main cashwrap as needed for different promotions. Additionally, drawers are located at the bottom of each cashwrap section for storage of extra product--this allows workers to quickly restock the impulse fixtures.

POWER WALL KEY

After the event was over, PAVE was kind enough to ship the GlobalShop booth to Endicott for it to be on display. Endicott had the booth on display in the Visual and Performing Arts Center during the Fall 2018 semester.

natatorium design Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator Location: Endicott College

ENTRANCE VIEW

The natatorium includes a custom racing pool with an attached section for stairs and a ramp for handicap users. Additionally, there are custom warming pools that are separated by a wooden catwalk to mimic the feeling of a luxury resort.

The objective of this project was to design a nataorium in place of Endicott College's gymnasium.

I used speed as my concept because I wanted the design to match the speed of swimming races. I also wanted the design to be "ahead of the times," as I chose to also make the space a recreational center for local families and students.

The design includes locker rooms, saunas and a snack bar. There is stadium seating located on the mezzanine while the floor itself uses tables with seating for students to use.

The solution is a fast-paced swim center dedicated to Endicott's past president, Doc Wylie. FLOOR PLAN - 3/64 = 1’

corporate office design Revit, Photoshop Location: Boston, MA The objective of this project was to design a corporate office for Microsoft.

The concept that I chose was community. Microsoft is a community of learners of various ages, and I wanted the design to communicate their connections through transparency and group opportunity. The industrial, open design creates a community among the workers while inspiring them and making them excited to work. OFFICES

There are opportunities for collaboration and private work throughout the office. The design includes private work spaces, multiple lounges, individual touch-downs, conference rooms and VP offices.

The materials used in the project are industrial and the design is very clean in order to create a masculine feel. The main user group for Microsoft is men, so the design is catered towards their needs.

The design incorporates witty elements such as the Microsoft Office logo in an office building for Microsoft. The colors used throughout the space are those of the Microsoft logo mixed with neutrals.

The objective of this project was to design a unique, electric light fixture.

The concept that I chose was celebrating the individual. I wanted the fixture to be personalized and to make work life more creative and inspiring for people every day. The simple fixture design allows for personalization of material and lighting colors as well as exploration of form. MOODU IN USE
