Introduction Introduction to Tully Park ETNS
01
Tully Park ETNS is a new development in the heart of Cherrywood, with the community growing & thriving in its surroundings. Accepting children from any and all cultures and religions. Learning together to live together. They are constantly raising the standards of inclusion, starting from the classroom and bringing that attitude with the children into all aspects of their lives. The school is diverse, breaking the usual barriers in education. No child is left behind.
The design is focused on the school’s four core principles. Child-centred, democratically run, equality-based and co-educational. These principles led me to the idea of diversity. Wanting to portray the most basic form of it, an idea came to mind.
I arranged shapes in such a way that they were all equal regardless of size, shape or colour. It is diversity in an abstract sense of the word. The concept was developed in a way that it would make sense to all people, children and parents included, even without fluency in English. Through visuals of these shapes they could understand the concept, no language needed. These shapes are free flowing and round, but can be rigid, just like humans can be. No one better than the other, equal opportunity across the board.
Placement Sign Type Placement
02
There are three sign types for this identity, including hanging directory posts to inform people of upcoming areas in the building. Secondly there are room identification squares located outside of each room or area to the school. Thirdly the sturdy long rectangular directional signage for indoor and outdoor use are based at main points of interest around the school, popular areas like the entrance and exit areas.

The main material used in the logo would be plexiglass. The shapes in a transparent matte finish, so they dont interrupt the environment, but live harmoniously together. The long rectangular signpost stand would be made of sturdy metal.
Poly(methyl methacrylate) or more commonly known as perspex would bring a transparent element to the logo whilst also keeping it matte in its surrounding. The signposts made of metal, strong enough to withstand winds, and is also perfectly waterproof, capable of the Irish weather.
The font chosen for this identity is Avenir Ž Next. This font is “strictly modern, suprisingly human. That is the purest form of the concept behind this. Shapes so fluid, not at all perfect, therefore human. It was this human quality I wanted to add to the branding. To coincide with the shapes, the logo was hand drawn to keep the natural fluid qualities that lay within the shapes.

To balance out the colours, I created the icons with a neutral feel so they can be seen when they are needed, but if not camouflage nicely into the environment. The subtle neutral second palette of colours creates this peaceful effect.

Colour Palette System

Top - Secondary Colours
Bottom - Primary Colours
The primary colours were extracted from the Educate Together logo. Six in total, the shapes being the main focus of this identity, are therefore made up of the six solid unique primary colours as seen above. For the backgrounds I went with neutral pastel cream and pink, with a striking black. The three colours create a calming atmosphere.

The elements of this wayfinding system are seen coming together in harmony with the colours used and the tone created is consitent and relaxing, adding to the atmosphere and community of the school.
