We know, we know -- the hippest of you are shouting at the virtual-page because fixies are old news. And be that as it may, it was never the trendiness that turned us on to them. Between everincreasing gas (and rent, and food, and clothing, and school) prices, the state of our sad little ozone layer, and our pathetic activity level, we like bikes because, well, they’re smart. Check out Urban Outfitter’s undeniably fun create-a-bike shop on their website, and then flip on over to the new and improved Google Maps, which now has dedicated bike routes for most cities (and some smaller towns). Their third studio album, Simple Math maintains Manchester Orchestra’s tried-and-true indie rock sound while still progressing as a group. Lyricist/vocalist Andy Hull states that Simple Math tells a story of his life as a young adult, covering issues that we can all relate to. After the fame he garnered from his solo project (which, by the way, we loved), we’re happy to see Manchester back in action.

These music is emotion at its finest Words Right away great captain
Just know that I love you
You haven’t seen devils till
I’ll go where you need me
But love’s such a simile
you’ve felt them all
The banks of the north shore
You’ve got to be strong
Or the hills I’ll go fleeting
For pearl gates of gold
I’ll take it back, if you want me to
Just give me one minute to tell
I will do my best to meet you
On a highway you know
my wife good bye
there half way
that I will do my best to meet you
I loved her so dearly but it’s time
Or the whole way
there
to take real flight
On a high way you know
On a dark desert road
Where the ending will take place
Please don’t leave
Or a middle sized fake show you
so beautifully
I wish you’d say please don’t
lead me to. (It’s so dark in there)
So beautifully
leave me
So beautifully…
But darling I am leaving
Well right away great captain I’ll surely leave everything
Right away great captain
God damned I love it
I’ll go where you want me to
But God you mean more to me
Don’t make it much harder

MUSIC don’t really get nervous at all anymore in terms of playing on stage for people. I get nervous about other things, like “What if an amp stops working or a guitar cuts out?” ALLAN: I’ve now played every instrument in the band except drums, so my pre-show routine has changed a bunch. This will be my first tour on bass as well as lead screams, so where before I only needed to warm up my voice now it’s tune the bass, vocal warm-ups, warm up the band’s tune and go on stage! Of course I get nervous; not nervous that I’ll screw up, but if people will like us. SO, WHAT HAS TARTE BEEN UP TO ALL SUMMER? Besides giving you all a fan-freaking-tastic new issue, we’ve been wasting a lot of time in between apartment viewings, packing, drawing, and all the other usual suspects. Check out www.veer.com for their awesome array of free swag including wallpapers, fonts, images, and texture. The best part? www.veer.com/products/free gives us a selection of Activity Books that you can print off and feel really hip doing. That’s right -- the friendly folks at Veer have given us a really good reason to stay indoors amidst the heat, and look like a graphic design insider. And tell us, what more could you want in a summer?

notions of femininity and creativity. Tulle fabric has been a basic building block of gowns, veils and, of course, ballet tutus - all beautifully simple silhouettes that are simultaneously designed with great attention to detail. We strive to capture he essence of tulle”and reflect it in all that we create.
With a desire to start a young contemporary collection at an affordable price point, Tulle was launched in 1999. We began with a small collection that focused on outerwear and sweaters. Since then we have grown and now Tulle offers a full sportswear collection of tops, skirts and dresses. Our formula is simple: we soak up our love of vintage fashion, mix it up with vintage and modern silhouettes, and have fun playing with classic and contemporary prints to create a distinctive brand that is both feminine and sweet. Perfect for a day out on the town that can easily be carried into the evening.
Tulle has become an editorial favorite of magazines such

Mode D’Amour - Annemiek Kessels TARTE: How does it feel to go from blogging about your style to being featured and interviewed by major names in the industry (among the likes of Vogue Girl Korea, Vogue.de, Refinery29)? AK: It’s awesome! But sometimes it’s still strange to see myself in a fashion magazine, or read my own interviews up on the internet. I would have never thought that blogging would bring so much oppertinities for me, but it definitely encourages me to keep blogging.

JULY 2011
Rupert
Grint,
Everybody is still batshit over Potter. And who can blame them? I don’t just say that because I have been a more-than-loyal follower of the entire entire novel and film series -- the whole crew has seriously pulled out all the stops in the final two installments. How we were all lucky enough to watch three child actors grow, as opposed to lose any talent or charm over the course of a decade, is beyond me. Rupert Grint (as Ron Weasley) shows a particular heart (and talent) when compared to the existing films; Radcliffe and Watson, as usual, do their characters proud. However, it must be said that the very best part was the contribution of the smaller characters; those actors playing Molly Weasley, Neville Longbottom, and Luna Lovegood added to this film’s staying power. ▲
And here, Alan Rickman. Betcha weren’t expecting ol’ Snapey to make the cut as covergirl. But anyone who hasn’t read the books, watch out for this fella -- plot twists that would catch Shyamalan by surprise! Image courtesy of WB Pictures.
