It is as a consequence of these relationships and with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research that we have been able to research, resource and develop the first fully accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in International Hospitality Management in the United Arab Emirates. This Masters Degree is benchmarked against the leading Postgraduate courses internationally. It is based on extensive research into the skill needs and practices of top executives and it has been developed and delivered by highly experienced, PhD qualified and industry focused faculty. THE EMIRATES ACADEMY OF HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) was the first institution of higher education in the Middle East to offer internationally recognised degree-level courses focusing on hospitality business education. With a highly qualified, multi-national faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern facilities and strong partnerships with the hospitality industry, EAHM has become one of the world’s leading hospitality business management universities. EAHM is recognised by The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates, The Institute of Hospitality (IOH) in the United Kingdom (Bologna-compliant) and The International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THEICE) in Australasia. Be At... THE HEART OF HOSPITALITY Dubai EAHM is at “The Heart of Hospitality” in so many ways. Located at the heart of the local luxury hospitality sector; in the heart of Dubai which is globally so well recognised for its world renowned hospitality and tourism industry; and EAHM is also situated equidistant from Europe and Asia. Campus life The campus of EAHM provides its students with a safe, comfortable and dynamic environment that supports both academic and extracurricular pursuits. From high-speed wireless computer networks and internet access, to extensive sports facilities, the campus offers students everything they need to grow professionally and personally. Students at EAHM live in well-appointed single studio accommodation. Every studio, with its own kitchen and bathroom, has internet access and is furnished to high standards. Communal areas on campus encourage a relaxed and informal atmosphere - places to share ideas and enjoy “time out”. There are a number of dining options on campus, and for self-catering there is a mini-mart as well. Nearby in Jumeirah are numerous restaurants to appeal to any taste and budget. Sports and leisure facilities are shared with management employees of Jumeirah, offering students the opportunity to interact with hospitality industry professionals on a daily basis. EAHM has a clubhouse with a wide range of leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, basketball and tennis courts. In addition, excellent public beaches are within walking distance of the campus.
Programme Structure
The Modules In order to qualify for the Postgraduate degree, all students must take and pass all of the compulsory modules and they must also choose and pass three of the elective modules. Trimester 1 Weeks

The MBA degree consists of nine modules and a thesis. Out of the nine modules, you may choose three modules from a list of electives. If you decide to undertake a Business Research Project instead of a thesis, four elective modules would have to be completed. Each module involves a minimum of 40 taught hours and 100 hours of self-directed study over a period of one month.

MBA in International Hospitality Management Full time in 1 year / Flexible study mode up to 4 years This is the first accredited Master of Business Administration in International Hospitality Management degree in the Gulf region. This Masters Degree is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the United Arab Emirates, The Institute of Hospitality (IOH) in the United Kingdom (Bologna-compliant) and The International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE) in Australasia.
Aim This Postgraduate programme will develop the knowledge, skills and competence of graduate industry professionals to enable them to function effectively at executive, corporate and senior managerial levels within the contemporary hospitality industry.
Origins The content and structure of this programme is based on extensive industry and educational research to ensure that it provides cutting edge knowledge that builds on undergraduate studies and fosters high levels of managerial competence. Over 60 senior executives from the hospitality industry have contributed to the design and content of this course. The content of the course is benchmarked against 15 other internationally renowned Masters level programmes.
Programme Structure and Delivery This Postgraduate programme can be taken full time over one calendar year or the modules can be taken in a flexible mode, which means that learners can continue to work whilst they study. The duration of part time study will vary according to the amount of time each learner is able to devote to the programme and also according to their own abilities and commitment, but would typically take between two and four years. This is a modular programme in which students take a maximum of two modules simultaneously. Each module involves a minimum of 40 taught hours and 100 hours of self-directed study over a period of one month. The programme ends either with a formal academic dissertation or through the completion of several industry related projects.
The Learning Outcomes Upon the successful completion of this programme students will be able to: • Critically examine the social, cultural, cognitive and financial aspects of contemporary international hospitality management • Make a professional contribution to the process of corporate leadership within hospitality businesses
All modules on this programme are delivered by doctorally qualified specialist faculty who have been selected not only for their academic qualifications but also for their industry experience, teaching skills and their related research. Typically, each module will include team teaching involving leading industry practitioners, and will draw on participating students’ valuable personal experience as well. • Investigate hospitality managerial issues in a creative, strategic and entrepreneurial way • Plan, design, construct, execute and present business research using a range of methodologies, analytical techniques and presentation formats
Meeting the Selection Criteria

Alternatively, applicants may apply online at http://www.emiratesacademy.edu/Apply-Online We apply strict entrance criteria in order to ensure that only students who will be successful in our programmes and the hospitality industry will be selected. The application process assesses both academic achievement and personal qualities. Minimum Requirements for the Postgraduate Degree: • An accredited Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) • Sufficient relevant work experience – normally at least 1 year at supervisory level • Proof of English Proficiency [Internet-Based TOEFL score of 100 with a minimum score of 25 on each section; Academic IELTS with an overall band score of 7.0; or Paper-based Institutional TOEFL score of 600 and 5.0 in the Test of Written English (acceptable only if taken at EAHM)] The Interview The second stage of the application process involves an interview with representatives from the academic team at EAHM.
