t The Southgate Studio we are proud to launch our latest hand crafted ceramic pieces. This body of work was especially commissioned to Erica Jayne Wilson by The Southgate Studio. Erica draws her inspiration from the Yorkshire environment she was brought up in and where she still lives. These hand crafted stoneware pieces are her interpretation of Bettison’s Folly in Hornsea. Some of them have two bases, one which is fitted with an electric light. The other base is to stand a candle on giving a choice on how it can be used. Some are simply smaller tea light holders. Each is very individual and incorporates different combinations of glazes and materials. Erica uses an eco kiln which uses a quarter of the power that an average oxidisation kiln consumes. As she says every little helps the environment. These pieces are unique and only available here atThe Southgate Studio in Hornsea. Please feel free to come inside and take a closer look, these pieces are tactile, fun and yet practical.

Bettison’s Folly in Hornsea was the inspiration behind Erica Jayne Wilson’s ceramic pieces.
