Cycle Hire Assistant & Cycle Technician/ Hire Assistant

We are looking for energetic, focused and enthusiastic people to join our team and help provide great bike hire experiences to clients from our main base in Windermere, with a second venue in Bowness-onWindermere.

You’ll be part of our small but hard-working team, working alongside friendly like minded people, in a predominantly fast paced working environment where there is always something to do.

So, whether you are a bike fanatic with great customer service skills, or simply love the idea of helping people get into outdoor activity and have the potential to develop your mechanical skills, there could well be a role for you.

The ideal applicant will already have experience of working in a busy environment where maintaining focus on positive customer service is key, experience of working with an activity provider would be beneficial too. You’ll need to be computer literate, possess proficient writing skills, be able to listen well and speak clearly and confidently. You’ll have the ability to work independently, as well as within the team, with good time keeping and organisational skills.

Paddle Sport & Cycle Hire Assistant

Salary: £18,500 - 23,338 (meets the requirements of the National Living Wage as of April 2024)

Windermere Canoe, Kayak & SUP (WCK) is a busy Paddle sport Provider located on Windermere.

The role is fast paced and requires dynamic, friendly and patient staff to work within a small but committed team. You will be directly responsible to the Boathouse Manager. Team members are responsible for organising and overseeing the delivery of paddle sport and cycling activity from our bases on the shores of Windermere. You will be a team player who enjoys working hard and having fun.

Applicants must have experience of positive customer service, the ability to work effectively in a team, experience of working in an activity centre or similar, a passion for sport and physical activity, great listening skills and the ability to speak clearly and confidently.

On joining our team, you need to be naturally very good at these things straight away:

• Supporting customers who are taking part in activities

• Meeting, greeting and keeping those customers happy

• Ensuring the hire craft are serviced and ready to go

Rehabilitation/Personal Care Assistants

We are seeking motivated energetic individuals that are happy to work flexibly supporting a charming young man with an acquired brain injury, epilepsy and complex and severe needs in his rehabilitation and daily living in a domestic environment based in Burton in Kendal. The young man requires 24/7 care support 7 days a week 365 days a year so the post holder will be expected to work on a rota basis. We aim to offer flexibility so you can gain a good work life balance and we currently offer 24/7 shifts from 10.00 am till 10.30am the next day. You can choose to take one or two of those per week the choice is yours and we pay the same rate for sleepover and day rate. We do expect you to work either a Saturday or Sunday every other weekend.

You will be part of a friendly, supportive professional team who will support you in developing your skills. All staff undertake an induction programme and are supported developmentally through in-house training and regular CPD sessions and an annual appraisal process.

Your role will be to provide a comfortable, rich, and fulfilling home and lifestyle whilst simultaneously supporting the young man in his rehabilitation and empowering him to maximize his potential and skills set. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that all candidates can swim and drive and hold a clean driving licence. We have a heated swimming pool, kitchen garden, Art Studio, and Workshop on site.
