Abstract The scheme entails the complete redevelopment of a nineteenth-century industrial island with the aim of introducing night-life and improving nature. The project is designed to lay the groundwork for potential expansion by highlighting main spaces and entry points and responding to changes on site through a series of events welded onto scaffolding structures. This collection of scaffolding is set to show how the site can be restored and transformed into a centre of activities that honour nature, from celebrations of flooding problems on site to creating opportunities for nature to take over.

Events This is a collection of scaffolding events that are laid both on site and inside the building project. Their functions range from the creation of new entry points, such as the flooding idea and bridge, to the creation of spaces where events can take place, such as the lunar event and exhibition spaces. Scaffolding’s modularity allows for potential extension of current activities as well as the development of new ones.

Scaffolding The scaffolding design has been key in achieving spaces without disturbing the site. Their modularity for easy altering for many different purposes/ events organised on site as well as allows for future expansion. Scaffolding is a non-destructive method in creating spaces around existing buildings. Nature and existing buildings are not disturbed in the process because of its lightweight meaning they need little to no foundations.
