AMISH TRAIL RIDE 26 MILES Slow down, put your camera away and keep an eye out for horse drawn buggies as you take a step back in time through Amish country in the western part of the Enchanted Mountains.
Turn right onto Route 322 for a trip into South Dayton, the town that hosted the filming of “The Natural” and “Trains, Planes and Automobiles”. You will find restaurants and shops that feature Amish goods as well. Returning to Route 62 turn right to continue onto Conewango, then turn left onto Route 241 to head into Randolph. There are shops and restaurants that offer Amish goods on consignment.
Gowanda, Home of the “Hollywood Happening, a Motorcycle Event”, is just under 25 miles from Buffalo, and is the perfect start of the Amish Ride.

EXPLORE OUR VILLAGES RIDE Using Route 62, you will travel south through the scenic countryside with Amish farms and shops along the way. You will notice rustic, handmade signs along the roadside pointing you to furniture shops, bake shops, quilt and toy shops and more. If you choose, you may explore the side roads locating these shops, but most of the roads will be dirt roads.
With plenty of pit stops and places to eat, exploring the villages of the Enchanted Mountains was never easier. This ride has beautiful vistas, smooth roads, interesting attractions and unique shopping opportunities. Come see why village living attracts some of the friendliest folks around.
ENCHANTED MOUNTAINS RIDE 40 MILES With beautiful views of the Allegheny Reservoir curving country roads and beautiful mountains, the ‘Enchanted Mountains’ ride offers an escape from the everyday.
Stop for a rest in the village of Randolph. You just might see an Amish buggy!
This lightly traveled highway provides plenty of opportunities for a relaxing lunch or a bit of shopping in the village of Randolph.

Relax from your journey, with a stop at Bayview Mini Mart & Ice Cream Parlor. Order some snacks then climb to their upper patio and enjoy the view of Onoville Marina and the Allegheny Reservoir.

Take a break, stretch your legs and stroll the streets of Ellicottville. You will find good food, friendly folks and a variety of shops to explore.
BLUE HIGHWAY RIDE 42 MILES “Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It is against the law.” That is how William Least Heat Moon described Blue Highways in his book that looks at the back roads of the U S. Discover what life is really about on the wide open Blue Highways of the Enchanted Mountains.
Just north of the Village of Franklinville, you will come to the intersection of Route 98 and Route 16. Here you will turn left to continue your tour south through the village, where you can stop for a bite to eat, get gas or shop for antiques. Remaining on Route 16 South, you will pass through the town of Ischua on your way to Maplehurst where you will turn left onto Route 446 heading east towards Cuba. Starting on Route 98 at the northern border of our county, you will head south on a rolling, scenic two lane highway that fits the description of Blue Highway. You will pass by small towns, woods and lakes as you wind your way through this scenic corridor to Franklinville.

HERITAGE RIDE 77 MILES From Zoar Valley in the north to the Seneca Nation of Indians’ Allegany Territory in the south, this ride offers a taste of the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the entire Enchanted Mountains region. As you meander the hills overlooking Zoar Valley from the Gowanda Zoar Road, you will be amazed at the handiwork of Mother Nature. This deep gorge creates the northern border of our county. Look for the designated locations for sightseeing, hiking and picnicking.
Traveling County Road 13, you will enjoy less traveled roads that cross our rural countryside as you aim for Route 219 and Ellicottville, with a final destination of Salamanca. Restaurants, shopping, attractions and artisans await you on your journey of the Heritage Ride.

Relax at a sidewalk cafe in Ellicottville, then visit the museums in Salamanca, take a chance at the Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel. To complete your trip, be sure to take a swing through Allegany State Park. The scenery is beautiful and the roads are great! Take a break from your ride to take in the beauty of New York’s largest state park.
TOWN & COUNTRY RIDE 53 MILES See the best of both worlds in the Enchanted Mountains. This ride gives you a taste of stunning mountain scenery, cool stops to hang out and relax with picturesque village streetscapes.
Olean is home to the Rally in the Valley, a weekend long event in August.
Begin on Route 16 South with a stop at Rock City Park, where you can see the world’s largest exposure of quartz conglomerate rocks. You will marvel at the gigantic rock formations as well as the panoramic view of the Allegheny River Valley and the Five Mile Creek Valley.
When you reach Route 305, turn right and head south. As you near Portville, you will see Sprague’s Maple Farms on your left. Be sure to stop here to experience modern maple production, grab a meal, shop in the gift shop or tour the Old-Fashioned Sugar House on the hill behind the restaurant.
Travel north on Route 16 to the City of Olean. Here you will find shops, restaurants and museums, such as the Cutco/KaBar Visitor’s Center & Museum. Turn left onto County Road 27 and sit back and enjoy the scenery as you travel to Cuba.
Continue your journey heading south on Route 305 to Route 417 in Portville. Turn right to head west towards Olean. There you will find shopping, dining, lodging and Olean’s Squirrels (See how many you can locate!) OR continue south on 305 into Pennsylvania. Roll along the hillsides as you make your way to the starting point at Rock City Park.
