Funding opportunities The Energize Coach Bursary is designed to fund individuals Level 1, 2 or 3 coaching qualifications in any sport. For further information please click here to visit our website. This bursary is open to any coach or aspiring coach to apply to and in return all we ask is that you are improving the coaching within that sport in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Cash4Clubs is a sports funding programme funded by Betfair and in partnership with SportsAid, for grassroots sports clubs. The sports club must be registered with the applicable National Governing Body (NGB) or Local Authority. Grants of £250, £500 or £1,000 are available to improve facilities, purchase new equipment or gain coaching qualifications. Applications are open until 30th September. http://www.cash-4-clubs.com/

Alec Dickson Trust supports young people who are able to demonstrate that through volunteering or community service they can enhance the lives of others, particularly those most marginalised by society. They would especially like to support innovative projects, run in your local area by volunteers. Applications for grants, not normally in excess of £500, are invited from individuals aged 30 and under or from small groups of young people who believe their actions to be in pursuit of the aims of the Trust. http://www.alecdicksontrust.org.uk/ O2 Think Big encourages 13-25 year olds to 'Think Big' about how they could change or create a project in their local area which to make a difference. Accepted projects received £300 initially along with support and the chance to win gig tickets. Applicants might then be invited to 'Think Bigger' and have the chance to secure more funding and support – up to £2,500. The grant must be used to make things better in your local community and the project should be up and running within three months of being accepted. http://www.o2thinkbig.co.uk/How-it-works/ Big Lottery Fund - Awards for All Small grants are available of between £300 - £10,000, to help community projects better provide for the needs and aspirations of their local community. The project must aim to develop skills, improve health and/or enable people to be more active citizens. Volunteering Opportunities Hockey Makers – Euro Hockey 2015 volunteer applications now open Event - 21-30 August 2015 Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park England Hockey is looking for over 400 Hockey Makers (volunteers) to join us for the 10-day event. There are over 40 roles available to choose from and with many roles involved in the lead up to the event and new Team Leader roles the event is sure to provide an exciting and rewarding experience. The closing date for applications is Monday 1 December 2014 View more details Border Counties Make a Difference Workshop Saturday 11th October - 11am Cambrian Buildings, Gobowen Road, Oswestry, SY11 1HS The idea of the workshop is to recruit more volunteers to help with the running of the club. Ideally, the club are looking for a Welfare officer, Health and Safety Officer and a Receptionist. Latest NGB Updates Badminton England Coach Licence – Are you ready? Badminton England is set to launch its Coach Accreditation Scheme later this month, hoping to enhance the quality of coaching in badminton. The launch of the Coach Accreditation Scheme brings about a significant change to how Badminton England will support and develop the coaching workforce. A series of online and practical workshops are currently being developed, to help build on the content coaches learn on the qualifications. England Hockey Get your club umpires trained Since its introduction in February 2014, over 1000 people have completed the new Level 1 Umpiring Course. Feedback on the course has been excellent, with participants benefiting particularly from the practical elements. The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club – Futsal Conference – Catalyst for change 22 -23 November 2014 St George’s Park, Burton-on-Trent The conference is set to be a major highlight in the Futsal Coach Education programme, providing the perfect opportunity for Futsal coaches to network, learn and share new ideas. British Gymnastics I'M IN Disability Programme G Force, the West Midlands I’M IN Hub Club will be running a Festival event. It will be an opportunity for those aged 11+ with a Disability and no experience to try general gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. This festival will be taking place on 29th November at 1pm at Wilnecote Leisure Centre, Tinkers Green Road, Wilnecote, Tamworth, B77 5LF. The event will be completely free of charge and will be split into 11-17 and 18+ age groups. Royal Yachting Association Applications for the RYA Club of the Year Award 2015 are now invited This award is aimed at recognising and promoting the outstanding achievements of the amazing array of people who work together to create vibrant clubs across the UK and keep our sports alive. Expressions of Interest for the 2015 RYA Club of the Year are now invited. Clubs are asked to briefly summarise their achievements over the past three years and outline why they believe their club should be chosen as RYA Club of the Year 2015. During the winter period we will be delivering a series of sequential Winter Workshops across England. These workshops will benefit Clubs, Training Centres and Sailability Foundation sites and will focus on ‘Reviewing and Planning’ and ‘Resourcing and Funding’ and will offer you the opportunity to hear about how others have succeeded and allow you to share ideas.
