New Health and Wellbeing Programme Starting on the 1st September, a new health and wellbeing programme is being launched at Oswestry Leisure Centre and Shrewsbury Sports Village and South Shropshire Leisure Centre to help adults who are currently inactive take part in physical activity. Many people want to be more active but are nervous about using their local leisure centre. To help overcome this, every participant will be supported by a friendly Health and Wellbeing Coach who will take them through a 12 week programme to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. There are a total of 500 places on the programme at Oswestry Leisure Centre (200), Shrewsbury Sports Village (200) and South Shropshire Leisure Centre (100) between September 2014 and February 2015. The aim is to make the programme sustainable, therefore the cost to each participant is ÂŁ10 per month for 6 months, with the option to access another discounted membership at the end of 6 months to support ongoing physical activity. This is a tailored and targeted programme for the harder to reach and as such we are promoting it through organisations we feel may have service users who this programme could benefit the most. If you would like some leaflets to help you to speak to your service users about the programme or would like someone to come in for a chat to find out more, please contact Christian Smith from Shropshire Community Leisure Trust on: Christian.Smith1@serco.com Mobile: 07896 878189 Landline: 0345 0007 002 Click here for further information
