2013 sees the industry nearing the end of a rigorous procurement exercise for the DCC and the regional communications solutions and national data services provider. These will be critical to a successful implementation of smart metering across Great Britain. The industry is poised for major transformation and the implementation phase is likely to impact the entire supply change. There are still some major unresolved issues spanning interoperability, data security and privacy. This one-day conference will take a broad look at end-toend data and communications issues through the eyes of industry stakeholders. We will learn from foundation trials and debate the balance between consumer protection and the needs of energy suppliers, network operators and 3rd party energy service providers. We also look ahead to the considerable deployment challenge for prospective DCC service suppliers as they start to gear up for national roll-out. Supported by
