Three mountains, three fabulous beings FAIRY-TALE MOUNTAIN SCENERY

What a combination! Corvatsch, the large raven. Smart, breathtaking and free as a bird. Diavolezza, the she-devil. Passionate, icy hot and devilishly beautiful, like flames in the snow. And Lagalb, the white lake. Unspoilt, magnificent, perfect for adventures on water and ice. In June 2017 they all merged to form the fairy-tale mountain scenery of the Upper Engadin. Corvatsch, Diavolezza and Lagalb became partner companies. Corvatsch AG acquired two new sister cable cars on the Bernina Pass. The new joint logo reflects this combination: the individual triangular logos, each containing the symbol of a fabulous creature, are combined with the Swiss cross to create an image of mighty, fairy-tale mountain scenery. Whether it is winter or summer, whether you are in search of ac on, fine food or relaxa on – in the fairy-tale mountain scenery of Corvatsch, Diavolezza and Lagalb, everyone will find what they are looking for.

Corvatsch _ the raven

The great summer a rac on is the 80 km of footpaths with views of perpetual ice and the lakes, and the Corvatsch Glacier Walk.

CLEVER, BREATHTAKING, FREE AS A BIRD

In fables, the raven is often thieving and sly. Foodies will also find everything they could hope for. At the Panorama Restaurant 3303, you can dine closer to the heavens than anywhere else. La Chüdera is an insiders' tip for gourmets. Along the way, you will be tempted by the delicacies on offer at the Murtèl middle sta on, the Kuhstall and Rabgiusa, while the Hossa Bar, the hot spot for the après-ski crowd, serves its food Americanstyle.

Our Corvatsch steals only one thing: our hearts. Exhilarating skiing in powder snow. Happy hours of endless sunshine at 3,303 metres above sea level. Culinary highlights that know no bounds. If you are looking for adventure, this is the place for you: in winter there is the Corvatsch Furtschellas skiing area, with 120 km of perfectly prepared slopes, a Snow Park including flow line and bag jump, Snow Night, off-piste descents and the legendary Hahnensee run.

So let's go – strap on your skis, lace up your hiking boots. Up, up and away to Corvatsch.

boots: on Corvatsch there is always something going on. Adventures for young and old in winter With 120 km of ski slopes, everyone is bound to find their favourite, and the powder snow slopes, steep channels and cliff jumps will keep every freerider happy too. The best thing is that, because of the altitude and the many north-facing slopes, the lure of the powder continues when elsewhere people are just skiing on corn snow.

Every Friday evening, night becomes day on Corvatsch when Switzerland's longest floodlit ski slope (4.2 km) opens for night skiing. For breaks to catch your breath and fortify yourself between thrilling descents, there is the Restaurant Murtèl at the middle station, and after the skiing, everyone meets up in the legendary Hossa Bar, where the party continues with a swing.

The Corvatsch Park is one of the biggest snow parks in the Alps. This is where anyone who thinks that skiing or snowboarding on perfectly prepared slopes is just too boring can let their hair down. The entrance to the park is

You could even enjoy your own exclusive Corvatsch Snow Night: throughout the winter season, you can book a VIP Snow Night on any day except Friday.

covered about 88 km of ski slopes – with 16 restaurants for possible refreshment stops. Sunshine and perpetual ice in summer There are countless hiking highlights in the fairy-tale mountain scenery of Corvatsch, with views of stunning 3,303-metre high peaks and the lakes of the Upper Engadin. One of those is the Water Trail. This two-and-a-half hour circular walk takes you from the Furtschellas middle station past six crystal-clear alpine lakes. If you want to, you can even have a barbecue on the way. And for our youngest visitors, there is a booklet of fairy tales to entertain them on this family-friendly walk.

Long, steep and spectacular – that is the nine kilometre-long Hahnensee run from Corvatsch to St. Moritz Bad. The run begins on steep-sided slopes and ends in a fairy-tale forest. Once you have mastered it, you will want to do it again and again. The Hahnensee run is also part of the Snow Safari which starts in Sils and takes you via Furtschellas to Corvatsch at an altitude of 3,303 metres. Then, after the Hahnensee run, it continues on the other side of the valley into the Corviglia region. There, you will visit Piz Nair and Trais Fluors before taking the long run down to Celerina. By the end, you will have

One summer attraction in the Engadin is the Corvatsch Glacier Walk. From the Corvatsch 3303 top station, it takes visitors just 20 minutes to walk to the Corvatsch Glacier. The "Glacier Zone", which measures about 8,000 m², offers winter fun in mid-summer – and plenty of space for snowball fights. Loads of fun for families and the young at heart.

Real culinary highlights are to be found at the Panorama Restaurant 3303. This is the highest restaurant in Graubünden. Hardly anywhere else can you dine so close to heaven! The restaurant at the summit of Corvatsch is as impressive for its excellent meat dishes as it is for its superb views of glaciers and lakes. The chefs use only fresh ingredients that are locally sourced where possible. On Sundays in summer, guests can enjoy a lavish brunch, with fairy-tale views included for free.

In winter, the Murtèl middle sta on and the big self-service restaurant are the hub and focal point of the skiing area. In summer, too, Murtèl is a popular starting point for hikers, who need to fortify themselves beforehand with Älplermagronen (alpine macaroni), Bratwurst sausage or a platter of cold meats. A highlight in winter is the Kuhstall restaurant. By day, the host serves up delicious, simple dishes. In the evening, there are sophisticated gourmet menus (13 Gault Millau points) and party sounds.

La Chüdera, the mountain-top restaurant on Furtschellas, is an insiders' tip for gourmets. Its à-la-carte restaurant, sunshine terrace and coffee bar make it an inviting place to spend some time in summer or winter. In summer, there is a playground and a mini pe ng zoo to entertain the children.

The Ustaria Rabgiusa, the idyllically located ski hut between Furtschellas and Corvatsch, tempts its visitors with Italian specialities like flatbread and polenta dishes. The Hossa Bar, a popular après-ski venue, serves cool cocktails,

Last but not least, visitors are especially partial to the Via Gastronomica. You choose your own walking route from the Furtschellas middle station into the Val Fex. Three restaurants form your fixed stopping points. You have your first course at La Chüdera, your main course at the Hotel Sonne Fex in the Val Fex and finally enjoy your dessert at the charming La Passarella on the beautiful village square in Sils Maria. If you only pick at the culinary offerings like a little bird, you have noone to blame but yourself!

DIAVOLEZZA FAIRY-TALE MOUNTAIN SCENERY

Diavolezza – the she-devil PASSIONATE, ICY HOT, DEVILISHLY BEAUTIFUL Many years ago, Diavolezza, the beau ful she-devil lived high up on the mountain. Now and again, hunters would find her, follow her – crazed with love – and fall to their deaths. So it was with young Aratsch, after whose death, Diavolezza wailed pitifully: "mort ais Aratsch" – "Aratsch is dead". Her cry gave the Morteratsch Glacier its name. So the story goes.

In summer, the plateau overlooking the "Ballroom of the Alps" – including the glaciers, Piz Palü and Piz Bernina – is bound to provide some heavenly moments on the she-devil's mountain. Climbing fans love the two via ferrata routes, Trovat I and II. You will also find plenty of people with a burning passion for the Morteratsch Glacier Tour and the "Magical Fire above the Clouds" experience. Do not forget the jacuzzi at 3,000 metres and the Bernina Glaciers World of Adventure, with audio tour and the Snow Climb Point.

If you like to feel the heat, summer or winter, then the realm of the beautiful she-devil is the place for you. In winter, keen winter sports fans can warm up nicely on the glacier or moonlit runs, on a ski tour or a winter walk.

The panoramic restaurant Bellavista at about 3,000 metres and the Pizzeria Piz Alv at the valley station are the culinary hot-spots. You certainly won't get your fingers burnt with a day on Diavolezza.

You also have to be quite sure-footed and fit to do the Morteratsch Glacier Tour. This guided glacier hike takes you from the Diavolezza top station over the Pers and Morteratsch glaciers and gives an insight into the phenomenon of about five billion tonnes of ice moving slowly down the valley over a total distance of twelve kilometres.

When the Glüna Plaina, the full moon, shows the softness of its light, the Diavolezza mountain restaurant invites you to a summit dinner followed by moonlit skiing. A simply "fabulus" experience, as they say in Romansch. Fantastic, indeed.

45 minutes of winter fun on the pistes Switzerland's longest marked glacier run extends for no less than ten kilometres. It takes about 45 minutes to go down the Diavolezza glacier run via the Pers and Morteratsch glaciers right down to the snout, finishing up just in front of the sunshine terrace of the restaurant at the Morteratsch RhB station, the Rhaetian Railway then stands ready to take adventurers right back to the Diavolezza car park.

Climbing and glacier walking in summer The first via ferrata in the Engadin takes climbers up to Piz Trovat in two hours. With its 500 steps, one ladder and one rope bridge, it offers an easy but impressive climbing experience, with stunning views. The more difficult via ferrata is the Piz Trovat II. That requires a lot of strength and stamina and is intended for experienced climbers. The equipment for climbing tours can be hired from the Diavolezza valley station.

The Val Arlas touring hit is regarded as one of the best freeriding routes anywhere. From Diavolezza Firn you go past Piz Trovat to the Sass Queder, where there is always a route for powder snow experts, whatever the weather conditions.

The steep descents and undulating slopes are a paradise for freeriders: Lagalb on the Bernina Pass is the Engadin mountain for connoisseurs. The black slope is exactly what daredevils are looking for. The first section just below the top station is the steepest slope in the Alps. This leads to the middle section, which is the steepest prepared ski slope in Graubünden. Depending on your proficiency, it may not just be the magnificent views of the fairy-tale mountain scenery that take your breath away here!

LAGALB

FAIRY-TALE MOUNTAIN SCENERY

Lagalb – the white lake

With its fantastic views of Lago Bianco, into the Poschiavo valley and further south into the Valtellina, the Lagalb skiing area is an insiders' secret. The Lagalb cable car is a bit like a time machine: as you rise up to 2,893 metres above sea level, you feel you are going back into the past. The charm of Lagalb lies in its remoteness. There is plenty of variety on its slopes – right through from December to early April. Creature comforts are catered for in high season (the cable car only runs in winter) by two restaurants full of traditional charm. Another highlight is the ski touring route from the top station down to La Rösa in the Poschiavo valley below. It is an insiders' tip that the locals really love.

UNSPOILT, MAGNIFICENT, THRILLING

Deep, unfathomable and so beautiful: lakes play a central role in many fairy-tales. There is a particularly striking one at the top of the Bernina Pass, where the Lagalb peak is located: the Lago Bianco, from which Lagalb takes its name and which you can see from the top station. It is impossible to say when the region around the Bernina Pass is more beautiful, in summer or in winter. In summer, the lake glitters white with the meltwater from the glacier. In winter, when it is frozen, it is black and shimmering. Ice skating on the famous black ice of Lago Bianco is a unique natural experience.
