Mermaid Month March

The 8th annual Mermaid Month returns to Ventura Harbor for the duration of March with ocean-spired specials throughout the Village! Mark your calendars for our fin-tastic special events (featuring a real live mermaid) on both Saturday, March 4th and Sunday, March 19th from 12-3pm, for a mermaid DJ dance party, mermaid kid’s crafts, face painting, photo opps, tropical birds, chalk painting, live music, and more! Encouraged to dress in your best mermaid style!

Santa Susana Depot 120 Year Celebration Mar. 4

The Santa Susana Depot will be celebrating it’s 120 birthday celebration. History of the Southern Pacific Railroad on the ‘Coast Line’. Depot tours. Demonstration of period attire. Model railroad open house.

Singletrack Stampede 10K and 22K Runs Mar. 4

This fast and furious, cross-country course offers 10K and 22k distances for all levels of runners. Weave your way along the twists and turns, climb the crazy switchbacks and fly along the hillsides on the Millennium Loop Trail. We’ll be taking care of your post-race calories with delicious breakfast tacos, sore muscles with the VFE massage team and entertainment with live MC announcements, age-group awards ceremonies and festival photography.

H20 Art Show Mar. 4

Working in various mediums, artists will feature water in its contemporary format, including its beauty, power, scarcity, conservation and hope for more water in our future. There will be a showcase featuring paintings exclusively of OVLC (Ojai Valley Land Conservancy) vistas and animals that have returned to the Ojai Valley because of their efforts. Meet the artists and support OVLC in the silent auction at the reception.

Simi Valley Youth Summit Mar. 10

The Simi Valley Youth Council encourages all high school students in Simi Valley to attend the 20th Annual Youth Summit, Reconnect to Reality! This free event is designed to inspire youth to set goals, enhance leadership abilities, and become involved in their community. It is sponsored by the City of Simi Valley’s Youth Council, Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, and the Simi Valley Unified School District.

Camarillo Old Town Association Beer March Mar. 18

March through Old Town Camarillo to get a taste of local brews and craft cocktails at the 8th Annual Beer March. The Blvd will be graced with live music from local bands and musicians. VIP food and beer tasting packages are available at registration so be sure to bring an appetite for delightful treats and eats.

Bark in the Park Mar. 18

Special activities include a dog costume contest, as well as a big and littlest dog contest; small dog races, dog entertainers, a dog agility course, a dog cool off zone-water area, vendor booths and more. Event free of charge and activities are free to participate in. Food available for purchase.

Point Mugu Air Show Mar. 18-19

The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, will be joined by the U.S. Air Force Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, as co-headliners. Parking, admission, and blanket seating are free. Upgraded preferred seating options are available. The Point Mugu Air Show will be hosting Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band for a public concert on Saturday evening.

Muscles & Mojo Morning Car Show Mar. 19

The Murphy Auto Museum, in conjunction with Fireball Tim, is pleased to bring you Muscles and Mojo! Every 3rd Sunday of every month come on over for some great cars, pipin’ hot coffee, donuts and Diecast! The Murphy holds a stunning 40+ car collection, tiki lounge, massive HO scale train and a diecast hot wheels collection! Admission to the Museum $10 (kids under 13 are FREE!) The Port Hueneme 75th Anniversary celebration will be kicked off by a parade on Surfside Drive, starting at Market St. & ending at Ocean View Dr. Join us at the end of the parade route for a street fair located at the Hueneme Beach Park! Celebration of the Whales Festival Mar. 26

Channel Islands Farmers Market, Marine Emporium Landing and the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, in conjunction with the Channel Islands Harbor, celebrates the migration of the Pacific Gray Whale. The event features an arts & crafts market, live music, chalk art, activities for children, educational games for families, BBQ and seafood booths, and a certified Farmers Market. Free event.
