The White Hart is a beautiful, traditional Cornish pub nestled on the wild west coast.

DID YOU KNOW? The pub is situated next to the picturesque Ludgvan church and can offer catering in a beautiful setting for weddings and wakes.

Located in the small sleepy village of Ludgvan, deep within the heart of west Cornwall, the White Hart is one of the oldest pubs in the Duchy. Built from traditional Cornish stone, the exterior calls to mind scenes from a local village way back when. Immediately welcoming and dog friendly, as soon as you walk through the door it becomes clear that the friendly and attentive staff like to deliver a laid back and relaxed atmosphere.

The pub has an inviting beer garden often frequented by local squirrel ‘Peanut’, who likes a bit of company! The garden is perfect for relaxing in the sun with a cool glass of your favourite tipple while your kids occupy themselves in the new play area, which will be ready for the summer. Serving locally sourced ales and produce, when you visit the White Hart you can expect to experience a taste of Cornwall. Not to mention that from early summer, the pub will be offering regular barbeque evenings and occasional hog roast nights in the beer garden so you can make the most of balmy evenings.

A favourite dish on the menu is the homemade steak and ale pie served with mash or chips, plenty of local veg, and of course gravy. The chef works with local farms to source the best meats to keep you steak lovers happy, or if you prefer a taste of the coast, the creamy fi sh pie with haddock, salmon and prawns is packed full of ȵ avour. Alternatively, for veggies and vegans, the vegetable tagine with spices, mixed vegetables, prunes and

honey provides a well-rounded balance of ȵ avours in a wonderfully exotic dish.

Ludgvan is steeped in farming tradition; surrounded by wooded valleys and fi elds, it provides a pocket of rural bliss and yet is only a 10-minute drive from the bustling south coastal town of Penzance, and only 20 from the north coast, including St Ives with its white sandy beaches. This makes the White Hart the ideal pit-stop on your explorations, especially if you happen to be walking along St Michael’s Way, a waymarked long-distance footpath in Cornwall (as seen on page 12). It runs for 12.5 miles from Lelant on Cornwall’s north coast to St Michael’s Mount on the south. By the time you reach the White Hart you will almost certainly need some refreshment and thankfully, the team is there to welcome walkers with a cream tea or a pint of the guest real ale of the week. Don’t take our word for it though, make sure to visit The White Hart to experience the exceptional food and the traditional, chilled atmosphere for yourself. honey provides a well-rounded balance
