ocated in the small sleepy village of Ludgvan, deep within the heart of west Cornwall, the White Hart is one of the oldest pubs in the Duchy. Built from traditional Cornish stone, the exterior calls to mind scenes from a local village way back when. Immediately welcoming and dog friendly, as soon as you walk through the door it becomes clear that the friendly and attentive staff like to deliver a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. The pub has an inviting beer garden often frequented by local squirrel ‘Peanut’, who likes a bit of company! The garden is perfect for relaxing in the sun with a cool glass of your favourite tipple while your kids occupy themselves in the new play area, which will be ready for the summer. Serving locally sourced ales and produce, when you visit the White Hart you can expect to experience a taste of Cornwall. Not to mention that from early summer, the pub will be offering regular barbeque evenings and occasional hog roast nights in the beer garden so you can make the most of balmy evenings. A favourite dish on the menu is the homemade steak and ale pie served with mash or chips, plenty of local veg, and of course gravy. The chef works with local farms to source the best meats to keep you steak lovers happy, or if you prefer a taste of the coast, the creamy fish pie with haddock, salmon and prawns is packed full of avour. Alternatively, for veggies and vegans, the vegetable tagine with spices, mixed vegetables, prunes and
honey provides a well-rounded balance of avours in a wonderfully exotic dish. ë ABOVE Ludgvan is steeped in farming tradition; Serving top quality surrounded by wooded valleys and fields, it rump steak provides a pocket of rural bliss and yet is only é INSET a 10-minute drive from the bustling south The White Hart is coastal town of Penzance, and only 20 from immediately the north coast, including St Ives with its welcoming white sandy beaches.
